The second cohort of AI’preneurs — one of Kazakhstan’s first startup accelerators focused on artificial intelligence — has officially launched at Astana Hub. The program has sparked strong interest among IT entrepreneurs, innovators, and specialists: in 2025, a total of 360 applications were submitted from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan.Following a competitive selection process, 58 participants were admitted to the program. The average age of the finalists is 33. The cohort includes professionals with backgrounds in technology and business, with a strong representation of practitioners: current entrepreneurs, corporate employees, and freelancers. Many have prior experience working with international companies and tech-driven projects.“AI’preneurs is more than just an accelerator — it’s an investment in people who will create the ideas, technologies, and products of tomorrow. On May 13, 2025, Örken East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region held a regional workshop titled “Individual development card as a means for ensuring continuity” for primary school teachers and preschool educators with the Russian language as the language of instruction. In Kazakhstan, the republican campaign “One Country – One Book” has been held since 2007 with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, organized by the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Library Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan.         The goal of the republican action is to popularize Kazakh literature, increase public interest in reading, create conditions for studying the literary heritage of Kazakhstan, as well as develop the intellectual and spiritual level of the younger generation and respect for the native language.The campaign, which began in 2007 with the reading of the prose of the great Abai, today continues to popularize and offer readers the best works of 51 outstanding poets and writers of Kazakh literature.         In order to continue the project, on May 12, a mobile book exhibition was presented in the foyer of the secondary school-lyceum No. 1 named after Abai as part of the “One country - one book - 2025” campaign, organized by the central library named after Saken Seifullin of the Zhetysu region. In order to implement the state policy to stimulate entrepreneurial activity and ensure business access to financing, the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the «Damu» Entrepreneurship Development Fund, has supported 4 898 projects totaling 586 billion tenge since the beginning of 2025. As previously reported, in April of this year, the work of Guarantee Funds began on the basis of the «Damu» Fund. The first of them is aimed at supporting small and medium–sized businesses with financing up to 7 billion tenge, the second is for large projects with a volume of over 7 billion tenge.As of today, agreements have been concluded with 8 banks. The first contribution to the Guarantee Fund was made by Freedom Bank in the amount of 537 million tenge. At the same time, Halyk Bank, ForteBank and Bank CenterCredit confirmed their intention to contribute 2 billion, 1,8 billion and 1,6 billion tenge, respectively.Since the launch of the Guarantee Fund for SMEs, 230 projects have already been supported for a total amount of loans of 27,7 billion tenge, while the amount of guarantees provided amounted to 13,9 billion tenge. More than 70% of the projects are aimed at investment purposes, including the launch of new production facilities, the purchase of equipment and construction. The largest number of supported applications is in the manufacturing industry – about 40%. There is also a high level of demand in the fields of transport and logistics, healthcare and education.In total, since the beginning of 2025, the «Damu» Fund has supported 2 017 projects totaling 256 billion tenge, with a total amount of guarantees of 178 billion tenge.As part of the transition from the interest rate subsidy mechanism to concessional lending to SMEs, in 2025 it is planned to increase the volume of financing in this direction to 750 billion tenge, which is almost three times higher than in 2024. It is also expected to launch a new program providing a 12,6% annual interest rate for final borrowers. The program focuses on financing projects in priority sectors of the economy, such as manufacturing, tourism, education, healthcare, transport and logistics.As of today, 755 projects worth 53 billion tenge have been supported under existing concessional lending programs.At the same time, the mechanism of subsidizing part of the remuneration rate for micro and small businesses for loans of up to 200 million tenge remains in place. This approach will help small businesses operating in priority sectors of the economy.As of today, 2 126 projects totaling 276 billion tenge have received support under the remuneration rate subsidy instrument. Internet scam becomes more sophisticated every year. Scammers disguise themselves as sellers, buyers, bank employees, and even close people to gain an access to your money or data.Firstly, scam can start with a regular sale ad. Person responds, transfers his money, and is left with nothing.Secondly, scammers often call, introducing themselves as bank or police employees. They speak confidently, create a sense of urgency, convince of danger, and force you to act quickly.Thirdly, fake investments are actively used: they promise easy money, offer to invest funds or transfer an access to a banking application.Sometimes, scammers use phishing – fake websites and letters that are outwardly indistinguishable from official ones. A person follows the link, enters his data, and access to the account ends up in the hands of criminals. You may also receive messages from “friends” in messengers – asking to lend them money, participate in a giveaway or take a survey, after which they start writing off your account.To protect yourself, first of all, you should practice digital hygiene. Never give out SMS codes, passwords and card details. Before entering your login or password, be sure to check the website address. Applications should only be downloaded from official sources. The Government for Citizens State Corporation has introduced biometric identification technology for car owners and examinees in the provision of public services in specialized public service centers.Previously, identity identification in special services was carried out directly by employees based on a document provided by the service recipient. Now, during the registration process, a person is photographed, after which the system automatically compares the resulting image with a photo stored in the State Database of Individuals, eliminating the possibility of using a fake image or photo from the screen of a mobile device."We eliminated the human factor, which left a loophole for abuse and made the system of obtaining public services partly opaque. Biometric identification is a direct way to reduce the number of violations and eliminate corruption risks in special centers.
