A Sanitary Equipment Manufacturing Plant Is Being Built in Kazakhstan 30.06.2026
Gabidulla Ospankulov, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, met with representatives of the Spanish company Roca Group.The group of companies manufactures sanitary ware and produces a full range of bathroom products.The project includes the construction of the first plant in the country for the production and assembly of plumbing products and bathroom accessories.The foundation stone for the plant in Kyzylorda was recently laid. The planned investment is 44.1 billion tenge, and production capacity will reach 500,000 units. Norwegian Helsinki Committee Positively Assesses Kazakhstan’s New Constitution 30.06.2026
Astana, 4 June 2026 – Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alua Nadirkulova held a meeting with Secretary General of the Norwegian Helsinki Committee Berit Nising Lindeman.During the meeting, Ambassador-at-Large Nadirkulova briefed her counterpart on the implementation of Kazakhstan’s constitutional reforms aimed at strengthening the protection of human rights and freedoms. She noted that the Constitution clarifies provisions related to the right to work and the right to peaceful assembly, strengthens guarantees of judicial protection and the inviolability of the home, and for the first time enshrines the protection of personal data.Particular attention was paid to the reform of Kazakhstan’s penitentiary system. It was noted that Kazakhstan is currently developing the Concept for the Further Development of the Penal Enforcement System for 2026–2030.For her part, Secretary General of the Norwegian Helsinki Committee Lindeman expressed appreciation for Kazakhstan’s support of the Committee’s Regional Representative Office in Almaty and highly praised Kazakhstan’s achievements in penitentiary reform, torture prevention, gender equality, and the protection of women’s rights. Ecological forum "EcoSchool: from ideas to action" was held in Kostanay region 28.05.2026
An environmental forum titled "EcoSchool: From Ideas to Action" was held in the Uzunkol district of the Kostanay region, aimed at fostering environmental culture among the younger generation, developing a caring attitude towards the environment, and promoting environmental initiatives.The event was held in the format of an interactive environmental quest, uniting schoolchildren from the district at thematic educational platforms. Participants had the opportunity not only to expand their knowledge in the field of ecology but also to apply it in practice.As part of the forum, special environmental stations were organized for students, dedicated to issues of biodiversity conservation, material recycling, and environmentally responsible behavior. The schoolchildren learned about the specifics of caring for houseplants, studied the conservation of the Central Asian tortoise as a representative of rare animal species, and participated in practical workshops on material recycling.Participants showed particular interest in creative and practice-oriented tasks, during which they made decorative brick tiles from recycled raw materials and learned about technologies for reusing household materials.Throughout the forum, participants demonstrated a high level of engagement, teamwork, and a desire to achieve the best results. Kazakhstan Advocates for Strengthening the Role of the UN at Security Council Debate 27.05.2026
New York, 26 May 2026 – First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashikbayev took part in a high-level open debate of the United Nations Security Council, held under the presidency of China, on «Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the Charter of the United Nations and Strengthening the International System with the United Nations at its Centre».In his statement, the representative of Kazakhstan noted that the debate was taking place against the backdrop of growing uncertainty, the erosion of international law and the selective application of legal norms. In this regard, he underscored the full support of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.Tokayev for the central role of the United Nations, as well as his call on world leaders to approach issues of international peace and security with a strong sense of responsibility.The Kazakh side emphasized that the United Nations remains an indispensable mechanism for ensuring sustainable peace and development. In this context, Kazakhstan’s efforts to strengthen regional confidence-building and mutually beneficial cooperation in Central Asia, facilitate peace processes, promote nuclear disarmament and interreligious dialogue, and contribute to United Nations peacekeeping activities were highlighted.Particular attention was paid to the need to reform the United Nations, including by adapting the Security Council to contemporary realities. Kazakhstan stands for broader representation of developing countries and middle powers, as well as for an evolutionary approach to reform aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the United Nations and its ability to meet the expectations of Member States.In the context of global challenges, reference was made to the initiative of the Head of State to establish an International Water Organization with a view to overcoming duplication among existing mechanisms and enhancing the effectiveness of the United Nations water mandate. A meeting of the regional akimat, chaired by the regional akim Kumar Aksakalov, was held, dedicated to the completion of the 2025–2026 academic year, as well as the organization of summer health recreation, leisure, and employment for children during the holidays.The number of schoolchildren in the region is growing. If 111 thousand children were studying in 2022, this year more than 113 thousand students are receiving education. With the increase in the number of schoolchildren, the number of graduates is also growing. This year, 5,213 students are graduating from the 11th grade, which is almost 900 more people compared to 2022.231 graduates are applying for the "Altyn belgi" distinction, and another 302 students expect to receive a diploma with honors. More than 4 thousand graduates plan to take the National Testing, which is 10% more than last year. There is an increase in the number of those wishing to receive education in domestic universities. If four years ago, 52% of graduates studied in Kazakhstan, then in 2025 this figure was already 63% (2022 – 2,263 children, 2025 – 2,993 children). The number of state grants is increasing annually. In 2022, 1,131 graduates entered grant-funded education, and in 2025, grants were received by 1,485 people, an increase of 31.3%."The Head of State noted that education and science are the driving forces capable of changing the world. Kazakhstan is becoming the academic hub of Central Asia. More than 30 branches of the best foreign universities have been opened in the country. Graduates have the opportunity to receive a foreign education without leaving the country. Behind every achievement lies the hard work of the student and the teacher. Therefore, we must not only appreciate the work of children but also support them," the head of the region noted.This year, the region's collection includes 86 medals, including 17 from international and 69 from republican olympiads. The leader in international olympiads was the "Bilim-Innovatsiya" boarding lyceum for gifted children – 8 medals. The "Ozat" lyceum and the Abay Zhitikarinsky district school-lyceum received one medal each. In international project competitions, prize places were taken by the I. Altynsarin gymnasium, the "Ozat" lyceum of Kostanay city, and gymnasium No. 10 of Rudny city."Special attention must be paid to the organization of graduation events. They should be held within the school format. The graduation evening should remain a warm and memorable event for children, not a reason for excessive expenses and risks. Today, under the chairmanship of regional Akim Kumar Aksakalov, a meeting of the regional akimat was held, dedicated to the completion of the 2025–2026 academic year, as well as the organization of children's summer recreation, leisure, and employment during the holidays.Organizing summer recreation and employment for schoolchildren is an important task. This year, health improvement, recreation, and labor employment programs will cover about 103 thousand children (98.5%). For these purposes, 457 million tenge has been allocated, which is 1.8 times more compared to 2022."This growth was achieved thanks to the opening of two out-of-town camps, as well as an increase in the coverage of children with summer recreation from 74% to 98.5%. In 55% of school-based camps, free meals will be organized. This summer, 12 out-of-town and 617 school-based camps will operate. First and foremost, it is necessary to ensure full and high-quality recreation for children from socially vulnerable categories," noted Kumar Aksakalov.This year, 300 million tenge has been allocated for the health improvement of children from socially vulnerable categories, as well as gifted children, which is 33.3% more compared to 2022."At my instruction, work is underway to attract investors for the restoration of abandoned camps. This year, in the Mendykarinsky district, the 'Allur' plant will begin the restoration of the former 'Solnechny' camp. Here, the enterprise's employees will be able to relax with their families. In the future, the company plans to open a year-round commercial camp for children. Such work needs to be carried out in all cities and districts," noted the regional akim.All summer recreation facilities must comply with sanitary and fire safety requirements. The programs of out-of-town and school-based camps should include sports, creative, and developmental activities, be meaningful and diverse."We have tested, within the framework of forums and various events, industrial tours to machine-building plants in the city of Kostanay. Currently, the issue of transferring these tours to tour operators is being considered. These tours must be included in the summer vacation plans. In the future, such events will help children with career guidance and choosing a profession. Today, a large-scale environmental campaign "Möldir Bulaq" was held in the format of the eco-quest "Clean Games". The initiative united residents of the region around an important goal – preserving the cleanliness of water bodies and fostering an environmental culture through practical actions.The main venue for the campaign in Kostanay was the coastal area of the beach on the Tobyl city side near "Aq Shanyraq". In the districts and cities of the region, events took place at water bodies determined jointly with the organizers.The organizers of the environmental campaign were the Public Development Department of the Kostanay Region Akimat, the Public Foundation "Environmental Club 'Neco'", and the youth resource centers of the region.A distinctive feature of the event was the "Clean Games" format – an environmental competition where teams not only cleaned the area of litter but also sorted waste, earning points for collected recyclables. This approach helped not only to clean polluted areas but also to popularize the culture of separate waste collection.Teams of 5 to 10 people were invited to participate. The campaign involved schoolchildren, students, volunteers, youth organizations, representatives of government institutions, as well as concerned residents of the region. Each team independently chose a name and a captain.During the competitive part, participants collected litter, sorted it into categories, and delivered bags to special collection points. One hour was allotted to complete the tasks.The collected waste was divided into several categories: plastic, glass, metal, as well as mixed and non-recyclable waste. A separate scoring system was provided for each type of litter. The regional project "Tulpar minip, tu algan" determined the winners 25.05.2026
The regional project "Tulpar Miniп, Tu Algan" has concluded in the Kostanay Region. It started in September and lasted until April. The project aimed to develop the younger generation's interest in fiction, popularize national values, and foster a culture of memorizing poems and epics.A total of 9,094 schoolchildren from across the region participated in the large-scale project by submitting applications. The competition was held in several stages — school, district, and city selections. Following the selections, 44 best participants advanced to the final stage.The decisive stage lasted from morning until evening, where the strongest students from districts and cities competed against each other. The jury paid special attention not only to the skill of recitation from memory but also to the depth of understanding of the works' content and the participants' stage presence. The jury members, who worked throughout the day, were also recognized with special awards.The main prize of the project went to a 9th-grade student from the city of Rudny — Uldane Zhursinbayeva. She completely memorized 98 pages of the epic "Alpamys Batyr" and showed high results at all stages. The winner received a trip to a summer school in Istanbul for four weeks. Her mentor, Gulzhazira Smagulova, a teacher of Kazakh language and literature at the A. В Уйгурском районе Алматинской области 10 тысяч гектаров пастбищных земель преобразуют в посевные площади. На территориях, где ранее практически ничего не росло, фермеры внедряют цифровые технологии и рассчитывают получать высокие урожаи. В частности, в сельском хозяйстве активно применяются современные технологии, системы капельного и дождевального орошения, а также автоматизированные устройства управления. Это позволяет эффективно использовать водные ресурсы и увеличивать объемы производства. Аким Алматинской области Марат Султангазиев посетил сельхозугодья и ознакомился с деятельностью хозяйств района, сообщает пресс-служба акима области.Одним из предприятий, работающих в этом направлении, является компания «Harvest Agro». Проект, реализуемый в селе Калжат Уйгурского района, основан на внедрении цифровых технологий в агропромышленный комплекс. В него входят автоматизированная система орошения, оборудование для цифрового анализа почвы, датчики влажности, мониторинг состояния посевных площадей и элементы управления с использованием искусственного интеллекта. Основная цель проекта - формирование эффективной и устойчивой модели современного сельского хозяйства за счет рационального использования водных ресурсов.Полная реализация проекта запланирована на 2026 - 2029 годы. Общая стоимость составляет 18,2 млрд тенге. После запуска предприятия будет создано 60 новых рабочих мест. Общая площадь земель составляет 4 500 гектаров. Планируется ежегодно выращивать 20 тысяч тонн кукурузы и 4 500 тонн сафлора. Готовую продукцию намерены экспортировать в страны Центральной Азии, а также на рынки Китая и Ирана.Одним из ключевых направлений проекта является развитие современных систем орошения за счет использования подземных вод. Для этого ведутся работы по бурению скважин и созданию ирригационной инфраструктуры. Планируется пробурить 120 скважин и установить 120 дождевальных установок «Center Pivot». Глубина скважин достигает 300 метров, а необходимый объем подачи воды для каждой установки составляет 125 -150 кубометров в час.На первом этапе будет освоено 1 200 гектаров земли под выращивание сафлора. В настоящее время пробурено 30 скважин и ведется подготовка к установке 30 дождевальных систем.Еще одним крупным предприятием, развивающим агропромышленный сектор Уйгурского района, является ТОО «Assem Kaljat». Компания реализует несколько стратегических проектов в сфере переработки сельхозпродукции, внедрения водосберегающих технологий и развития производственной инфраструктуры. Предприятие преобразовало 2 500 гектаров пастбищ в орошаемые земли и засеяло 12 сортов кукурузы. Пробурено 59 скважин глубиной 180  - 200 метров и установлено 59 трансформаторов. Кроме того, проложено более 40 километров линий электропередачи и свыше 300 километров магистральных труб капельного орошения различного диаметра.В хозяйстве используются тракторы и комбайны марок Claas и Case, сеялки, дроны-распылители, навесные и прицепные агрегаты, а также погрузчики, бульдозеры и экскаваторы. Продукция поставляется не только на внутренний рынок, но и экспортируется в Узбекистан, Иран и Китай. Основными потребителями станут предприятия по производству крахмала, комбикормовые заводы, птицефабрики и фармацевтические компании.В дальнейшем планируется строительство трех заводов: по первичной переработке и хранению кукурузы, производству поливинилхлоридных труб и выпуску систем капельного орошения. Общий объем инвестиций составит 23 млн долларов.Марат Султангазиев посетил оба предприятия и поздравил их с началом реализации значимых проектов. По его словам, запуск современного агроиндустриального комплекса придаст новый импульс развитию экономики региона и укрепит его инвестиционный потенциал.«Обе компании ориентированы не только на выращивание сельхозкультур, но и на их дальнейшую переработку. “Assem Kaljat” уже в этом году начнет строительство своего первого завода. В свою очередь, “Harvest Agro” готов расширять производство в зависимости от объемов продукции. Будет обеспечен полный цикл - от производства гибридных семян до хранения и переработки готовой продукции. При этом приоритет отдается вовлечению неиспользуемых земель в сельскохозяйственный оборот и превращению их в плодородные посевные площади. Сегодня активная работа по преобразованию пастбищ в орошаемые земли ведется в Жамбылском, Илийском и Уйгурском районах.Для Уйгурского района кукуруза имеет стратегическое значение. В условиях орошения средняя урожайность кукурузы достигает 7 - 8 тонн с гектара, а в передовых хозяйствах возможно получать до 14 -16 тонн. Производимое зерно востребовано на внутреннем рынке для животноводства, комбикормового производства и пищевой промышленности», - отметил аким области.Реализация данных проектов придаст новый импульс развитию агропромышленного комплекса региона и позволит вывести отрасль на новый уровень. "Ecological Express" was held in Kostanay region 22.05.2026
The city environmental express "Earth is Our Common Home" was held in Rudny. The event aimed to expand environmental and local history knowledge, as well as to develop tourism skills among the younger generation.Teams of students from grades 3-5 from 18 educational institutions of the city participated in the environmental express. The total number of participants was about 180 people.The event was held in a quest format: participants moved along route sheets and completed tasks at thematic stations dedicated to environmental literacy, tourism skills, and local history. The schoolchildren demonstrated knowledge about natural phenomena, tourist equipment, orientation in the area, as well as the flora and fauna of their native land.Particular attention was drawn to the "Second Life of Things" competition-exhibition, within which participants presented projects on waste recycling and material reuse.
