The food contract corporation "KOKSHE" agreed to supply sunflower oil to the SEC stabilization fund 04.03.2025
The Food Contract Corporation has concluded an agreement with JSC "KOKSNEA" SEC on the sale of 41.6 thousand liters of refined sunflower oil at a social price. The product was purchased within the framework of a pilot program for trilateral forward purchases of sunflower and sunflower oil. From January to April 2025, the "OskemenAgroProdukt" oil refinery will supply 83.2 thousand liters of sunflower oil to the Food Contract Corporation.Recall that in March 2024, the Food Contract Corporation announced the start of forward financing for agricultural producers specializing in sunflower cultivation. As a result of the selection of applications, the participants in the program were "Oilseed Experimental Farming Association" LLP and "OskemenAgroProdukt" LLP. After harvesting, the agricultural producer undertakes to send the sunflower to the oil refinery for processing, and the oil refinery - to deliver the finished product to the Food Contract Corporation. The purchase price of sunflower and sunflower oil was registered at the time of financing the agricultural enterprises, as a result of which the national operator purchased sunflower oil at a price below the market value. The trilateral forward purchase program was launched to fulfill the instruction of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to assist the private market in creating a full-fledged network of production, storage and sale of agricultural products. Since sunflower oil is included in the list of socially significant food products and its cost is directly related to the periodically increasing price of sunflower, this oilseed crop was chosen for the implementation of the pilot project. The Head of State also noted the need to use the potential of the Food Contract Corporation to reduce price fluctuations for basic food products and strengthen the work of the national operator with the SEC stabilization funds. One of the functions of the Food Contract Corporation is to stabilize the food market. In the event of an increase in the price of socially significant food products, the national operator has the opportunity to supply sunflower oil, buckwheat and, if necessary, other agricultural products to the SEC stabilization funds at prices below market prices. This will allow the SEC to provide the population with food at affordable prices.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/aqmola/press/news/details/944672
