He began his career in 1996 at the Tax Inspectorate for the city of Almaty, where he went from a specialist to the chief tax inspector.In subsequent years, Kanat Baltabekov held a number of senior positions in the tax authorities ofAlmaty, East Kazakhstan and Almaty regions, as well as in the Department of State Revenues in Astana. Aidar Abildabekov, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, met with Khurram Teshabayev, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.Uzbekistan remains one of Kazakhstan's priority trading partners in Central Asia. The two sides are consistently working to achieve the mutual trade target of $10 billion. From January to August 2025, trade turnover reached $3 billion, an 18.5% increase compared to the same period last year. Kazakhstan's exports totaled $2.2 billion, an increase of 26.7%, and the trade surplus reached $1.4 billion.An additional positive indicator was the expansion of Kazakhstan's high-value-added exports, including in metallurgy, petrochemicals, mechanical engineering, and agriculture. Uzbekistan has been presented with a list of 40 promising products worth over $550 million. Active work is underway to utilize export acceleration and trade finance tools, allowing companies to offer more competitive terms to their Uzbek partners.Particular attention is being paid to the joint implementation of investment projects. Thirty-four projects worth $4.4 billion and seven trade contracts worth $2.6 billion are currently under development. Active work is underway to update the roadmap, launch new production facilities, and remove certain administrative barriers. Kazakhstan proposes focusing on the implementation of those projects that have reached the highest level of readiness."Bilateral trade is growing in the agricultural sector. In the first eight months of 2025, agricultural trade increased by 27.6%, reaching $1.3 billion. Steady growth is being observed in the export of Kazakhstani grain, flour, meat, sugar, and other goods. "The digital integration of phytosanitary systems is underway through the ePhyto platform, which will ensure traceability and eliminate potential risks in mutual deliveries," noted Aidar Abildabekov, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.During his visit, Aidar Abildabekov also visited the construction site of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia," which is being implemented on the Kazakh-Uzbek border. The ICIC project is a strategic initiative of the two countries in industrial cooperation and aims to create a unified production and logistics platform.The frameworks of eight production buildings have been installed at the site, and construction and infrastructure work is ongoing. Contracts are being signed with investors from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and third countries in the fields of textiles, agricultural processing, logistics, and eco-technologies.The Kazakh side also supports the initiative to create a Joint Logistics Strategy, including the development of transit routes through Afghanistan. Dialogue is underway to remove remaining trade barriers and create favorable conditions for mutual market access.The next, 22nd meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation will be held in Khiva on October 22–23 of this year. Karaganda synchronized swimmers made a splash at the Asian Championships 14.10.2025
The athletes of the Karaganda region performed brilliantly at the Asian Aquatics Championships. The continental championship takes place in the Indian city of Ahmedabad. Participants compete in four disciplines: swimming, diving, water polo and artistic (synchronized) swimming.Representatives of the School of Higher Sports Excellence of the Karaganda region made a real splash in artistic swimming. The result was a triumph – 28 medals: 19 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze.The athletes demonstrated a high level of training and skill, proving that the Karaganda aquatics school is one of the strongest on the continent.Among the winners are Nargiz Bolatova, Ksenia Makarova, Viktor Druzin, Karina Magrupova, Yasmin Tuyakova, Arina Pushkina and Dayana Dzhamanchalova. The Akim of the Kostanay Region, Kumar Aksakalov, presented awards to the best industry representatives.Mechanical engineering is a key sector of the region's economy and a leading player in the manufacturing industry. It accounts for 55 percent of the region's manufacturing output. Its enterprises employ more than 8,000 people, making a significant contribution to the development of domestic production.In the first eight months of this year, enterprises in the industry produced over 800 billion tenge worth of products. These include automobiles, combines, tractors, mounted and trailed agricultural machinery, equipment, and other products."Your work is more than just production; it is the foundation of progress, a driver of innovation, and a vital component of the region's economic development. According to the minister, the republican budget for 2025 was formed with revenues in the amount of 21.6 trillion tenge, of which 15.2 trillion tenge are tax revenues. This is 23.4% higher than last year. According to the results of nine months, the budget was executed by 101.6%, while maintaining its social focus.Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about measures to improve the efficiency of tax and customs administration and revenues to the Special State Fund.Special attention was paid to the implementation of the Law "On Public Procurement," aimed at reducing the timing of procedures, increasing their transparency and supporting domestic producers. Currently, the analysis and control processes in the Treasury Information System are fully automated.As part of the digitalization of public finances, special emphasis is placed on formation and filling of Big Data, as well as introduction of artificial intelligence in the tax and customs spheres.The head of state was also informed about the results of the state audit. As part of the celebrations of Kyzylorda's 100th anniversary as the capital of Kazakhstan and the return of the name «Kazakh», four residential buildings with 320 apartments have been commissioned on the left bank of the SyrDarya River. The left bank, which has been actively developing in recent years, has been replenished with modern residential buildings. Representatives of the intelligentsia, elders, and residents of the city participated in the ceremony.Regional akim Nurlybek Nalibayev spoke about the work accomplished in housing construction and congratulated the new residents.«In our region, with the special support of our President and Government, the state social policy aimed at providing residents with housing is being successfully implemented. Over the past three years, 2.5 million square meters of housing have been commissioned in our region from all funding sources. More than 5,000 apartments have been purchased for residents on the waiting list, and approximately 25,000 residents have celebrated housewarming parties.Around 1,500 new apartments have been delivered in all district centers. This year, 58 billion 785 million tenge has been allocated from the budget for the purchase of finished apartments in new buildings and from individual developers. 870,000 square meters of housing will be provided from all funding sources.In the city of Kyzylorda itself, 5,600 apartments have become available to our fellow citizens over the past three years. Last month, those on the waiting list moved into seven multi-story buildings with 280 apartments.
