Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Received Ambassadors of Arab States 11.12.2024
Astana, December 10, 2024 – Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu held a working meeting with a group of ambassadors of Arab countries accredited in Kazakhstan.The main agenda of the meeting was the discussion of ways to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation, and a constructive exchange of views on the international and regional issues.Furthermore, key areas of cooperation in various fields were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the development of trade, economic and investment ties, including fields of energy, agriculture, tourism, transport and logistics.During the meeting, the Kazakh Foreign Minister noted the positive dynamics and successful development of bilateral relations, summing up the main outcomes of interaction with Arab countries in 2024 and outlining common key tasks for the next year.Minister Nurtleu emphasized the significance of partnership with the Arab states, noting common political, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties and interests. He also expressed gratitude to the ambassadors for their contribution to the development of bilateral relations and active participation in strengthening interaction between Kazakhstan and the Arab world.“Kazakhstan is ready and open to use all available opportunities to expand existing ties and explore new prospects of cooperation with its partners in the Middle East and North Africa,” Nurtleu noted.The heads of the Arab diplomatic missions highly praised the role and efforts of Kazakhstan in promoting agenda of strengthening peace, sustainable development and security, including Kazakhstan’s initiatives within the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international platforms. Family and gender policy of Kazakhstan: key points of 2024 11.12.2024
The Ministry of Culture and Information continues to summarize the results of 2024. Today we present to you the results of activities in the field of family and gender policy.One of the most important events of the past year was the adoption of the Law on Domestic Violence. The new edition tightened the punishment for violence against women and children, including criminalizing offenses in the family and household sphere.The Ministry is conducting preventive work together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Health and other government agencies. Mobile groups have been set up in the regions to identify families in difficult situations early.Also, within the framework of the new Law, the Ministry of Culture and Information coordinates and provides methodological guidance for the activities of Family Support Centers. To date, 43 GCHS are functioning in the country and a mobile application is being tested for early detection of families in difficult life situations.The Ministry continues to work to strengthen moral and family values among Kazakhstanis. An Action Plan has been developed and adopted to preserve and strengthen the institution of family and marriage for 2025-2027, aimed at preventing divorce and increasing the level of conscious preparation for family life.The National competition "Mereyli otbasy" is held annually. Over 11 years, more than 20 thousand families from all regions of Kazakhstan took part in it.A week of Family Day celebrations took place from September 2 to 8 this year. Over 2 thousand events were held with a total coverage of over 300 thousand people.In his Message of 2024, the Head of State stressed the importance of informed parenthood, calling for close attention to the upbringing of children. In this regard, the Ministry and the NGO "Union of Fathers" held the IX Republican Forum of Fathers "Tarbieh - tal besikten", which brought together more than 200 participants - experts, exemplary fathers, active citizens, teachers and heads of educational institutions.Continuing this important topic, the Ministry held an International conference "Education of children and youth: the State, society and the family in unity of action", which resulted in the adoption of a resolution.In the field of gender policy implementation, the policy of strengthening gender equality and eliminating discrimination against women continues.In order to increase the leadership potential and political activity of women and girls, training continues under the information and educational program "Tomiris". This year, about 500 women have been covered.A lot of work is being done to fulfill obligations under the international gender agenda. Thus, this year the National Action Plan for the implementation of UN Resolutions 1325 was updated, which was highly appreciated by experts and the diplomatic corps. A fair and exhibition of creative products "Ulttyk onerdin tungi cheeses" was held in the S.Aitbayev Art Gallery in Kyzylorda. 15 officials have been brought to administrative responsibility based on the results of inspections conducted by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan 11.12.2024
Since the beginning of this year, the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan has conducted inspections in 242 educational institutions, including 108 field visits and 13 unscheduled inspections based on complaints and appeals from residents.Since 2024, new articles 52-1 and 52-2 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Rights of the Child" have entered into force, which establish a new procedure and requirements for state control over educational organizations and government bodies in regions and cities of republican significance. This work is aimed at identifying violations in the field of protection of children's rights.Inspections were carried out in 25 education departments and eight regional education departments. As a result of the inspections, 15 officials were subject to administrative fines by court decision, and 65 persons were brought to disciplinary responsibility."The Ministry has revealed violations by local executive bodies in the field of protecting children's rights, including non-compliance of the school menu with established nutrition standards, lack of effective measures to influence children who systematically skip classes, non-compliance with the rules for providing social assistance to certain categories of students, etc. These problems require attention and active actions on the part of local authorities and educational organizations," said Nasymzhan Ospanova, Chairman of the committee.As a result of the inspections, the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights sent 121 recommendations and 151 instructions on the elimination of violations. An analysis of the implementation of recommendations is also being carried out on an ongoing basis, during which poor-quality implementation of these recommendations was revealed in the Turkestan, Zhambyl and Kyzylorda regions.Recall that in accordance with Article 6 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Education" kindergartens, schools, organizations of additional education are under the jurisdiction of local executive bodies. Also, the appointment of the heads of these organizations is carried out by the departments of education located in the structure of akimats. They got acquainted with the activities of the State Institution "No. 1 Regional Perinatal Center" of the Health Department.In particular, Shakizat Halykova, Head of the Maternal Health Department of the Department of Maternal and Child Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Saltanat Zhabagieva, head of the No. 1 Perinatal Center of the Turkestan region, and other specialists, together with Tajik colleagues, exchanged experiences at the Regional Perinatal Center.The perinatal center employs more than 600 employees who provide tertiary-level perinatal care for at-risk groups from 8 districts of the region.
