On the eve of Republic Day, on October 23, a successful organ transplant was performed in the East Kazakhstan Regional Hospital for four patients from a posthumous donor.After the brain death was confirmed, the relatives of the 39-year-old donor agreed and donated organs to four people. On October 28 this year, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a meeting on the preparation for protection in January 2025 of the Fourth Periodic National Report of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) on human Rights at the site of the Consultative and Advisory Body under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Dialogue Platform on the Human Dimension" under the chairmanship of Vice-Minister of Justice Zhakselekova B.Sh. a human being.The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is a unique mechanism for reviewing human rights information in all 193 UN Member States, which is carried out every four years. The UPR is part of the structure of the Human Rights Council and provides an opportunity for each country to inform about the measures it has taken to improve the human rights situation, as well as to fulfill its obligations in this area.Kazakhstan last reported on the UPR in November 2019. As a result of the defense, 245 recommendations of the member states of the UN Human Rights Council were received, of which 214 recommendations were supported and implemented by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 31 recommendations were taken into account, taking into account the ongoing national legal policy of the state and the practice of applying current legislation.The meeting considered the implementation of recommendations received following the results of the third cycle of Kazakhstan's UPR, and also discussed an alternative report from a Coalition of non-governmental organizations on the fulfillment of international obligations by Kazakhstan, decisions of Treaty bodies on individual complaints of citizens, and other topical issues of law enforcement practice. Representatives of international organizations, government agencies, civil society and the scientific community took part in the discussion.Following the meeting, the participants expressed their readiness for further fruitful cooperation to strengthen the protection of universal human rights, including continuing discussion of the remaining seven alternative reports of the NGO Coalition of Kazakhstan.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/adilet/press/news/details/873791
