Cleaning roadsides and preparing for the rainy season in Shymkent by the Karatau State Enterprise 02.10.2025
On October 2, 2025, roadside and irrigation canal cleaning efforts continued in Shymkent, organized by the Karatau State Municipal Enterprise. These activities are part of the city's preparations for the rainy season and are aimed at ensuring the safety and comfort of residents. Clean irrigation canals and drainage channels directly impact safety and quality of life in the city, preventing flooding and creating more favorable conditions for vehicle and pedestrian movement. The cleanup work was carried out in several areas. First, the ditches and drainage channels along the roads were cleared of debris, grass, leaves, and soil sediment. This allows water to flow freely, preventing the accumulation of rainwater and meltwater, which could cause flooding. Specialized equipment was used to carry out the work, including excavators, cranes, and high-pressure washers. Some of the work was also done manually: workers removed debris, tree branches, and other obstructions that impeded the free flow of water. Secondly, special attention was paid to identifying and clearing blockages in irrigation ditches. Workers inspected drainage channels and removed obstructions that impeded normal water flow. This measure is aimed at preventing flooding and ensuring safety on roads and in residential courtyards. Clearing blockages allows water to flow freely, without posing a hazard to vehicles and pedestrians. In preparation for the rainy season, a comprehensive inspection of drainage canals, ditches, and systems was conducted. Any identified defects or damage were eliminated or repaired. These measures ensure the smooth operation of the city's infrastructure during the rainy season and help protect the lives and property of city residents. The Karatau State Municipal Enterprise plans to conduct such work systematically. Monitoring each irrigation ditch and drainage channel, promptly cleaning them, and maintaining them in good condition are key tasks for preventing flooding, facilitating traffic, and ensuring a safe urban environment. Employees also conduct outreach to residents, urging them not to throw garbage into irrigation ditch and not obstruct water flow. Failure to comply with these rules could slow down the cleanup process and damage urban infrastructure. In addition to cleaning the irrigation ditches, Karatau is installing additional trash containers along roads and canals. This is aimed at encouraging residents to maintain cleanliness, especially during the rainy season, when trash can end up in the irrigation ditches and obstruct water flow. Public awareness campaigns help foster environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility for the environment. Cleaning roadsides and ditches is not only a technical task but also a collaborative effort between city services and residents. Volunteers are sometimes involved, which increases the effectiveness of the activities and promotes environmental awareness among the population. To organize the work, a detailed schedule and plan are developed, outlining the cleaning deadlines for each ditch and drainage channel, as well as the individuals responsible for completing the tasks. In preparation for the rainy season, special attention is paid to preventing potential flooding. After ditches and canals are cleared, additional measures are taken: water level monitoring, timely drainage, removal of new obstructions, and, if necessary, diverting water to special reservoirs. These measures ensure the reliable operation of urban infrastructure and minimize risks to residents. Karatau's management emphasizes the need for systematic irrigation ditches cleaning. This work is carried out not only in October but throughout the year. The main goal is to ensure the stable operation of urban infrastructure, prevent flooding during rainy seasons, and improve safety for residents. The company's staff also actively inform the public about the need to maintain cleanliness and order. Residents are encouraged not to throw garbage into ditches, not to block waste trays, and to be responsible for the environment. Community involvement makes cleanup more effective and fosters environmental awareness, instilling a habit of maintaining order and caring for the city's infrastructure. Cleaning roadsides and drainage channels is an important part of preparing the city for the rainy season. The Karatau State Municipal Enterprise systematically carries out work aimed at creating a safe and comfortable environment for residents. In addition to technical aspects, special attention is paid to fostering a sense of responsibility and environmental awareness among the population. In the future, systematic measures to clean irrigation ditches and maintain urban infrastructure are planned to continue. Cleanliness and safety are the shared responsibility of each resident and city services. Karatau, together with the community, continues its efforts to improve the urban environment, ensure preparation for the rainy season, and maintain irrigation ditches in good condition. Thus, regular cleaning of roadsides and drainage channels, monitoring their condition, systematic preparation for the rainy season, and active participation by residents in maintaining cleanliness are the foundation for safe and comfortable living in the city. The Karatau State Municipal Enterprise continues to implement these measures, ensuring the city's protection from flooding and creating a favorable environmental environment for Shymkent residents.

Cleaning roadside ditches and preparing for the rainy season in Shymkent together with the forces of the Karatau Municipal Service 02.10.2025
On October 2, 2025, the work of cleaning roadside ditches in Shymkent continued. These works were organized by the Karatau municipal state institution and aimed at preparing the city's infrastructure for the rainy season. The cleanliness of ditches and water channels is an important measure that directly affects the safety and comfortable life of city residents. The work was carried out in several directions. First, roadside ditches and sewer systems were cleaned of garbage, grass, and soil debris. This step will allow water to flow freely and prevent the accumulation of rainwater and melted snow. During the cleaning, special equipment was used - excavators, cranes, and pressure water jets. In addition, workers manually cleaned the ditches from garbage, tree branches, and other foreign objects. The second direction is to identify blockages and places where garbage has accumulated in the ditches. Workers walked along the ditches, removing blockages and ensuring the free flow of water. This measure is aimed at preventing flooding, preventing water from accumulating along the roads and near residential buildings. In addition, removing blockages in the ditches is also important in order not to impede traffic on the city streets. In preparation for the rainy season, the condition of water-filled roads, ditches, and sewer systems was thoroughly inspected. Any defects and violations identified during the work were repaired or restored. These measures will allow the city's road infrastructure to function properly during the rainy season and create a safe environment for residents. The Karatau municipal state institution aims to carry out these works systematically. The main task is to prevent flooding, facilitate traffic, and ensure the safety of residents by monitoring and cleaning each ditch and waterway in a timely manner. In addition, the institution's employees also urge residents not to throw garbage into the ditches, as this can prolong the work and damage the infrastructure. In addition to cleaning work, the Karatau institution is also carrying out work to increase the number of garbage bins in ditches and along the roads. This is aimed at educating city residents not to throw garbage on the roads and to maintain cleanliness. It is especially important during the rainy season to prevent garbage from falling into ditches and obstructing the free flow of water. Therefore, explanatory work is being carried out with residents, and efforts are being made to increase environmental culture and a sense of responsibility. Cleaning roadside ditches is not only a technical task, but also an event that requires the cooperation of city residents and institutions. In addition to utility workers, volunteers sometimes also participate in cleaning operations, which increases the effectiveness of the event and forms the ecological culture of residents. In addition, to increase the quality and speed of work, a special schedule and plan are drawn up, which sets the deadline for cleaning each ditch and canal. During the work, special attention was paid to preparing for the rainy season. After the ditches and canals were cleaned, additional preventive measures were taken to prevent flooding. For example, timely water discharge, removal of dams, control of water flow, and, if necessary, redirection to special reservoirs were carried out. These measures ensure the stability of the city's infrastructure and create a safe environment for residents. The management of the Karatau municipal state institution noted the need for systematic cleaning of ditches. The work will continue not only in October, but also at other times of the year. The goal is to ensure the stability of the city's infrastructure, prevent flooding during the rainy season, and increase the safety of residents. In addition, the employees of the institution are also conducting informational work among residents. They are urging them not to throw garbage into ditches, not to block roadside drains, and to observe personal and social responsibility. These actions will increase the effectiveness of ditch cleaning and contribute to the development of environmental culture among city residents. In general, roadside ditch cleaning is an important part of preparing the city's infrastructure for the rainy season. The Karatau municipal state institution carries out these works systematically, contributing to the creation of a safe and comfortable environment for residents. During the work, attention is paid not only to technical aspects, but also to the environmental culture and responsibility of residents. In the future, a systematic plan and preventive measures for cleaning ditches and maintaining road infrastructure will continue. Cleanliness and safety are the joint responsibility of every resident and city institutions. The Karatau municipal state institution, with the support of residents and its own efforts, is constantly carrying out work aimed at improving the city's infrastructure and ensuring readiness for the rainy season.

Shymkent youth took part in the environmental campaign "Birgemiz Taza Alem" and "Taza Kazakhstan" 03.10.2025
On October 3, 2025, a large-scale environmental campaign was held in Shymkent as part of the "Birgemiz Taza Alem" project and the nationwide "Taza Kazakhstan" movement. Hundreds of young volunteers, university and college students, and schoolchildren, as well as representatives of public organizations, participated in the event. The main goal of the campaign was to keep the city clean, improve the environmental situation, and instill in young people a responsible attitude toward the environment. From early morning, participants took to the city streets to clean the courtyards of apartment buildings, playgrounds, green spaces, alleys, and pedestrian paths. Particular attention was paid to common areas and areas where trash had accumulated. Work was carried out simultaneously in all four districts of the city: Yenbekshinsky, Karatau, Al-Farabiysky, and Abaysky. Before the event, volunteers were given gloves, trash bags, and the necessary equipment. All participants received safety instructions. Municipal service employees also joined the cleanup, providing specialized equipment for waste removal. By the end of the day, over 30 tons of household and construction waste had been collected and removed, transporting it to designated landfills. The coordinators of the "Birgemiz Taza Alem" project noted that the event was more than just a sanitation measure, but an important step toward fostering environmental awareness among young people. Each participant understood that keeping the city clean and well-maintained is not only the responsibility of public utilities but also the responsibility of every resident. Volunteers sorted the collected waste, separating plastic, glass, and paper for recycling. This element of the campaign is particularly important, as it promotes the culture of separate waste collection, which is gradually being implemented in Kazakhstan. The head of the city youth resource center, speaking to the participants, emphasized: "These events aren't just about cleaning up the neighborhood. They're a call to action. We want to remind every resident that a clean city starts in their own backyard. If everyone takes care of their surroundings, Shymkent will truly become a green and modern metropolis." City administration representatives, entrepreneurs, and private company employees also joined the environmental campaign. They, along with volunteers, took part in cleaning the streets and parks. Afterward, participants were given informational brochures on the proper disposal of household waste and the dangers of environmental pollution. Residents of apartment buildings also actively participated. Many came out to help the volunteers, and some provided water and refreshments to the participants. This created an atmosphere of unity and mutual support, reminding everyone that a clean city is the result of the joint efforts of all its residents. After the cleanup was completed, small flower beds and gardens were created in several courtyards. Volunteers planted tree saplings and ornamental plants. This initiative symbolized a concern for the future—that environmental protection requires not only cleanup but also creative action. Representatives from the city's Department of Ecology noted that such events make a significant contribution to improving the environmental situation in the region. They explained to participants the basic principles of sustainable development, the importance of reducing the use of single-use plastic, and the need to conserve natural resources. Shymkent, as one of the country's most dynamically developing cities, is actively implementing modern approaches to waste management and environmental protection. In recent years, the city has implemented dozens of initiatives to improve its environment, plant greenery, and reduce air pollution. The "Taza Kazakhstan" campaign is part of this broader effort aimed at fostering environmental awareness and civic responsibility. At the end of the event, all participants received letters of gratitude and souvenirs. The organizers noted that the youth's active participation was inspiring and demonstrated that the new generation is ready not only to talk about environmental issues but also to address them themselves. The "Birgemiz Taza Alem" project is part of a national volunteer program spanning all regions of Kazakhstan. It aims to develop a culture of volunteerism, engage young people in socially significant initiatives, and promote environmental responsibility. In Shymkent, the project has received widespread support, becoming one of the most popular volunteer activities. What made the event unique was that the youth not only cleaned up trash but also engaged in educational outreach. Volunteers spoke to passersby about the need to sort waste, conserve water, and respect green spaces. These mini-dialogues helped many residents reflect on their own habits and responsibility to nature. City residents expressed gratitude to the young participants. They said such initiatives help unite the community, set a positive example, and raise environmental awareness. Many noted that thanks to the volunteers' efforts, the city has become cleaner, more comfortable, and more pleasant to live in. The organizers promised that similar events would be held regularly. Plans include holding autumn and spring cleanup days, landscaping new neighborhoods, and installing waste separation containers. Furthermore, the idea of creating a city "Eco-School" for volunteers, where they could learn modern environmental management techniques, is being discussed. Thus, the environmental campaign held on October 3rd was more than just a cleanup, but a true celebration of unity, good deeds, and caring for their hometown. It demonstrated that Shymkent's youth are active, conscientious, and ready to act for the benefit of the environment. If initiatives like these continue to develop, Shymkent will rightfully be called the greenest and cleanest city in Kazakhstan , and the Birgemiz Taza Alem movement will become a symbol of the eco-consciousness of a new generation.

Shymkent youth participated in cleaning the city as part of the "Birgemiz Taza Alem" project 03.10.2025
On October 3, 2025, a large-scale clean-up was held in Shymkent as part of the “Birgemiz Taza Alem” project and the “Taza Kazakhstan” environmental campaign. The event was actively attended by the city's youth, members of the volunteer movement, students of educational institutions and schoolchildren. The main goal is to clean up the city, form an ecological culture, and increase the responsibility of residents for the environment. During the campaign, young volunteers cleaned the courtyards of multi-storey residential buildings, children's playgrounds, pedestrian paths, green areas and parks. Special working groups were formed in each district of the city, which, together with residents, organized cleaning activities. Cleaning work began simultaneously in Enbekshi, Al-Farabi, Karatau and Abay districts. Volunteers collected garbage, sorted household waste, and collected recyclables separately. This initiative is considered an important step from an environmental perspective, as the issue of developing a culture of waste recycling is currently receiving special attention in Kazakhstan. As the coordinators of the "Birgemiz Taza Alem" project note, such events make a great contribution to the formation of environmental awareness among young people. Because each participant not only contributes to the cleanliness of their hometown with their work, but also learns to be more careful about the environment. Volunteers participating in the campaign were provided with special gloves and garbage bags. They were also given safety instructions. During the cleanup, more than 30 tons of household and construction waste were collected and transported to special landfills. The head of the city's youth resource center emphasized the importance of this event and highly appreciated the activity of young people: — Today's environmental campaign is not just a cleaning operation, it is an appeal to society. We want to remind every resident that they have a responsibility for the cleanliness and appearance of their city. If everyone starts from their own yard, from their own street, Shymkent will truly become a green and clean city, — he said. The Clean Kazakhstan campaign is a sustainable environmental initiative that is being implemented throughout the country. The main goal of this project is to protect nature, promote environmental culture, and actively involve residents in environmental protection. Shymkent is a leader in this direction. In recent years, the city has implemented a number of effective projects in the field of landscaping, water purification, and household waste management. Representatives of the Shymkent city administration also participated in the Sabbath and set an example for young people. Together with them, entrepreneurs and employees of various organizations carried out cleaning work in every corner of the city. The administration distributed explanatory leaflets on maintaining cleanliness and proper sorting of household waste. During the campaign, some residents also worked with volunteers in their yards. Such joint actions increased the sense of mutual assistance and shared responsibility in the community. After the Sabbath ended, children's play areas and small flower beds were created in the yards of apartment buildings, and trees were planted. According to the volunteers, such events are becoming an important part of environmental education and upbringing. Because young people are not limited to just collecting garbage, they understand the broader meaning of environmental protection. They noted that keeping nature clean is a duty to future generations. Specialists from the Shymkent city ecology department also participated in the event and provided advice on improving the environmental situation. They explained to residents how to properly separate household waste and recycle plastic and glass. They also paid attention to the issue of preventing water sources from being polluted and protecting greenery. At the end of the event, all participants were awarded letters of appreciation and souvenirs. The organizers expressed their gratitude for the youth's activity and said that such initiatives will continue in the future. The "Birgemiz Taza Alem" project is being implemented in many regions of Kazakhstan. It is a national program aimed at developing youth volunteerism and increasing environmental responsibility. Shymkent youth, as one of the active participants in this project, are setting an example for the country. Also, through this event, volunteers not only clean up the city, but also promote the ideas of environmental protection and form an ecological culture among residents. Such initiatives increase the environmental awareness of society and change the attitude of each citizen towards nature. Residents of Shymkent highly appreciated the campaign and expressed their support for more frequent such clean-up events. According to residents, the activity of young people is a sign of confidence in the future. Because only a generation with environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility can truly make their city and country prosperous. Thus, the “Birgemiz Taza Alem” and “Taza Kazakhstan” campaigns held on October 3 once again demonstrated the activity, organization, and love of Shymkent youth for their native city. This initiative will undoubtedly continue in the future and give impetus to the development of environmental culture in all regions of the country.

In Shymkent, police are conducting raids to check the legality of meat trade. 03.10.2025
On October 3, 2025, officers from the Shymkent City Police Department, specifically the Yenbekshinsky District Police Department, conducted another inspection of stores, retail outlets, slaughterhouses, and private farms located within the district. The primary goal of these measures was to prevent the sale of substandard and unsafe meat products, as well as to ensure compliance with veterinary and sanitary requirements and storage regulations for animal products. Ensuring food security and protecting public health are now priorities not only for the police but also for local authorities. As part of interagency cooperation, representatives of the veterinary control department, sanitary service personnel, and specialists from the district akimat participated in the raids. The inspections were conducted with particular attention to documents confirming the origin and quality of the meat. During the inspection, 18 retail outlets selling meat products and five private farms where livestock were slaughtered were inspected. Inspectors identified a number of violations. Some businesses failed to provide veterinary certificates confirming the legal origin of the meat and its suitability for consumption. Some retailers stored their products without observing temperature standards, which could lead to rapid spoilage and pose a health risk to customers. Following the raid, administrative charges were filed against six retail outlets whose owners failed to provide veterinary documents. These charges have been submitted to the relevant authorities for review under Article 406 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses— "Violation of Veterinary Rules." This article provides for fines and, in the case of repeated violations, temporary suspension of the business. Police officers emphasized that every entrepreneur is obligated to comply with sanitary and veterinary regulations. A veterinary certificate is not just a formality, but a document confirming that the meat has been inspected, is free of infections, and is safe for consumption. During the raid, special attention was paid not only to retail outlets but also to slaughterhouses. In several yards, inspectors discovered instances of illegal slaughter of livestock without proper conditions. Such practices pose a risk of spreading infectious diseases among both animals and people. Police and veterinarians reminded residents that livestock slaughter should only be carried out in specially equipped facilities that comply with all sanitary requirements. Representatives of the Yenbekshinsky District Police Department held preventative talks with business owners, explaining that failure to comply with meat trade regulations not only damages a business's reputation but can also lead to serious consequences, including life-threatening consequences for consumers. Store owners were reminded of the need to have a full set of documents: a veterinary certificate, a laboratory safety report, and invoices confirming the origin of the meat. Police also urged city residents to exercise caution when purchasing meat products. Residents are advised to request documentation from sellers confirming the quality and origin of the product. Purchasing meat at spontaneous markets or from unauthorized sellers can be dangerous, as it is impossible to guarantee the product's safety. The Shymkent Police Department press service noted that such raids will be conducted on a regular basis. Their goal is not to punish entrepreneurs, but to prevent potential violations and ensure that the public receives only high-quality and safe food products. "We don't aim to close stores or disrupt business," the police spokesman noted. "The main thing is that sanitary requirements are observed and that every vendor has all the necessary documents. This is in the best interests of the residents themselves, because it's about people's health." It's worth noting that such inspections are especially relevant in the lead-up to holidays, when demand for meat products traditionally increases. It's during this period that unscrupulous sellers often appear on the market, attempting to sell substandard goods. Police warn that violations of veterinary regulations are subject to administrative penalties. Repeated violations may result in the suspension of the retail outlet's operations, and the confiscation and destruction of merchandise. During the raid, employees also checked the sanitary condition of counters, refrigeration equipment, and the presence of labels and expiration dates on products. In some cases, inspectors found non-compliance with storage conditions—meat was stored at temperatures above the permissible limit, and some products were missing packaging. On-site, the businesses were given specific instructions to correct the violations. Veterinary officials noted that in recent years, cases of meat being sold without inspection, especially from private farms, have become more frequent. In such cases, it is impossible to determine whether the animal has undergone veterinary inspection, meaning there is a risk of exposure to dangerous infections, including brucellosis or anthrax. The leadership of the Yenbekshi police department emphasized that protecting public health is its number one priority. "We will continue to conduct such inspections regularly. Our goal is not only to identify violations but also to foster a culture of responsibility among entrepreneurs for the quality of the goods they sell," the department representative stated. Finally, police called on city residents to exercise civic responsibility: if citizens notice instances of illegal meat trade, they can report it to the nearest police station or by calling 102. Thanks to the joint efforts of the police, veterinary services, and local authorities in Shymkent, conditions are being created to ensure that only tested and safe products are sold on store shelves. This ensures the health of city residents and demonstrates the responsible attitude of businesses towards their customers.

Raids are being carried out in Shymkent to check the legality of meat products 03.10.2025
On October 3, 2025, officers of the Enbekshi District Police Department of the Shymkent City Police Department conducted a planned raid on shops and retail outlets selling meat products, as well as slaughterhouses and private farms located in the district. The main goal of this event is to prevent the sale of low-quality and illegally traded meat products that may pose a threat to the health of the population, as well as to monitor compliance with veterinary and sanitary requirements. Currently, ensuring food safety for the city's population is the main focus of the police and local executive bodies. To this end, Enbekshy district police officers, together with the veterinary control department and representatives of the local akimat, conducted a comprehensive inspection of meat products. During the inspection, a total of 18 retail outlets and 5 individual farms selling meat products were inspected. As it turned out, some entrepreneurs and sellers did not comply with sanitary and hygienic requirements during slaughtering and storing meat. In addition, some of the meat products did not have the appropriate veterinary certificates and certificates . The absence of such documents raises doubts about the legality of the product and its safety. As a result, administrative cases were compiled against the owners of 6 trading establishments that failed to provide veterinary certificates and were sent to the authorized bodies for taking appropriate measures under Article 406 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan . According to this article, the sale and storage of livestock products without veterinary documents is considered a violation of the law and provides for fines or temporary suspension of activities. During the inspection, police officers reminded entrepreneurs of the need to strictly comply with sanitary requirements and veterinary regulations. Since meat products are the main food consumed by residents every day, their quality and safety are important factors that directly affect the health of city residents. Violations detected during the raid were recorded not only in trading places, but also in private yards. Some residents slaughtered animals in undesignated places, that is, in conditions that do not meet sanitary requirements, and then offered the products for sale. Such actions increase the risk of spreading infectious diseases. Therefore, police officers and veterinary specialists explained that slaughtering animals should be carried out only at specially authorized stations . The Enbekshy District Police Department issued a special appeal to city residents and business owners to comply with the law. It recommended that each consumer obtain a veterinary certificate before purchasing meat products, check the origin of the product, and check the storage conditions. As the management of the department noted, such inspections will continue regularly in the future. This is because low-quality and illegally imported meat products pose a serious threat to public health. Ensuring the sanitary safety of the population, as well as maintaining order in the food market, is one of the main tasks of law enforcement agencies. In addition, police representatives provided entrepreneurs with explanations and advice on how to prevent violations and engage in honest business. It was noted that all documents for the sale of meat products, including a veterinary certificate, laboratory results, and documents confirming the place of origin of the product, are mandatory. According to the press service of the Shymkent City Police Department, such raids are aimed at protecting the health of residents and increasing responsibility for food quality. Especially considering the increased demand for meat on the eve of the upcoming holidays, it is especially important to monitor the quality of products on the market. In conclusion, the Enbekshi District Police Department called on residents and businessmen to comply with the law and announced that work to ensure public health and safety will continue. According to the police, similar preventive measures will be carried out in other districts of the city. Today, the food market of Shymkent is developing rapidly, but compliance with quality and safety requirements is a shared responsibility of all parties. Therefore, the police, veterinary services, and representatives of the akimat will continue to work together to increase consumer confidence and prevent infectious diseases. Thanks to such comprehensive measures, city residents will have the opportunity to consume high-quality and safe meat products. The main thing is that every citizen should not be indifferent to their own health and the safety of those around them.
