Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Sharlapayev took part in the Kazakhstan Round table on Global Investments KGIR-2024. He spoke at a panel session on the topic: "Current trends in global markets and industries, their impact on investment strategies."The Minister stressed that today Kazakhstan confidently occupies a place in the international investment arena as one of the most attractive and strategically important platforms for investors."This is largely due to our unique geographical location at the crossroads of East and West, which opens up huge opportunities. Our country serves as a bridge between the world's largest markets, providing access to Europe, China and other dynamically developing regions. This factor makes us an important hub in the international trade system and allows investors to use Kazakhstan as a platform to enter promising markets in Eurasia," K.Sharlapayev said.Kazakhstan's industrial production sector is growing rapidly, focusing on diversification and sustainable growth. This sector provides about 29% of GDP and more than 19% of employment. Kazakhstan is actively attracting investments in the production of high-tech products, in particular in mechanical engineering, the IT sector, electronics and the food industry. In the first 9 months of this year, industry growth reached 4.8% (17.1 trillion tenge). Kazakhstan is ready to support investors with tax benefits and preferences for the creation of new industries, especially export-oriented ones. The development of domestic production potential will reduce dependence on imports and ensure strong positions in the markets of Central Asia and beyond.Kazakhstan's construction industry also offers ample opportunities for international investors. The growth of residential and commercial construction requires infrastructure development, which makes this sector very attractive. "We intend to create even more favorable conditions for companies involved in construction projects, development of transport routes, construction of logistics and production centers," the minister said.In this direction, Kazakhstan is striving to simplify the processes of obtaining permits and make the infrastructure more accessible and reliable for all stakeholders."Our country is rich in natural resources, which are already attracting significant investments in metallurgy and mining. At the same time. Kazakhstan is actively developing non-resource sectors from IT and transport to agriculture and green energy. We are committed to sustainable development and welcome investments in projects that contribute to reducing carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency," K.Sharlapayev stressed. It is expected that within the framework of KGIR-2024, the minister will hold a number of meetings with potential partners and investors.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/mps/press/news/details/875698

Military education reforms: Military departments to review student training programs 16.11.2024
The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov, held a meeting with the heads of military departments of higher educational institutions of the country. The head of the Defense Department brought his views on the development of military education to the participants of the meeting. He instructed to review the military training programs for reserve officers and sergeants at military departments, taking into account the criteria set by the Armed Forces.- In light of the current geopolitical situation, the President of the country, the Supreme Commander–in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, pays close attention to the development of training citizens for military service. But at the same time, we do not pay due attention to reserve officers. All activities of military departments should be aimed at obtaining solid knowledge of military affairs. The range of activities of military departments should expand. They should become centers of military training and military-patriotic education of young people," the Minister of Defense noted.Currently, work is underway to make additions and amendments to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan to improve military training and retraining of military personnel. As part of the new requirements, the Ministry of Defense will be given the competence to monitor and analyze military training in educational institutions. In addition, training of reserve rank-and-file will be introduced at military departments in certain scarce specialties.- The military department is not one of the ways to get a military ID, it is not an opportunity to "skip" the service. First of all, this is our reserve. Commissioned officers and military personnel who have graduated from the military department must join the troops and apply their knowledge in practice. And your task is to educate them in the spirit of high patriotism," the Defense Minister continued.During the meeting, reports were announced on the current status of accounting for reserve officers and sergeants who graduated from the military department and their conscription. The head of the Military Department of Astana IT University, Major General Alexander Ashirov, reported on the change of curricula and adaptation of the program of training camps held at the military department by analogy with the Sardar course. The training camp continued at the Military College named after Hero of the Soviet Union Army General Sagadat Nurmagambetov, where the heads of military departments were tested for knowledge of normative legal acts. Recall that 41 military departments operate in organizations of higher and postgraduate education, where about 15 thousand students are trained according to the programs of reserve officers and sergeants.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/mod/press/news/details/875662
