In Kazakhstan in 2025, standards for construction glass were developed, which directly impact the safety of homes, offices, and public buildings. These are ST RK ISO 12543-1-2025 and ST RK ISO 12543-2-2025, regulating the production of laminated safety glass. Currently, these requirements are being applied at the enterprise TOO "StekloServis" in Uralsk, West Kazakhstan Region.The Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan notes that the documents introduce unified requirements for manufacturers and processors. They define the composition of laminated glass and its key characteristics. The main focus is on strength and safety. Such products better withstand impacts and, when broken, do not form dangerous fragments."Today, standards are not a formality but a real tool for protecting people. Implementing requirements for laminated glass increases building safety and reduces the risk of injuries. This directly affects the quality of life of Kazakhstanis and builds trust in construction materials," noted Malik Saulebay, General Director of RSE "KazStandard".In practice, this means a higher level of protection. In residential buildings and business centers, the risk of injury from broken glass is reduced. Stained glass, facades, windows, and partitions become more resistant to mechanical loads and temperature fluctuations.The production cycle includes several processing stages. Sheet glass undergoes tempering, lamination, enameling, and other processes. It is then formed into insulating glass units and specialized products with specified strength and safety characteristics.The Kazakh company "StekloServis", for which these standards were developed, produces a wide range of products. These include tempered and fire-resistant glass, laminated impact- and bullet-resistant products, enameled and molded structures, as well as insulating glass units."Laminated glass works on the principle of 'safe breakage': even under strong impact, fragments are held within the structure. This is especially important for public spaces and facade solutions, where safety requirements are at their highest," explained a specialist from "StekloServis".The production process begins with the receipt of sheet glass of various types, primarily in "jumbo" format. The material then undergoes industrial processing, including tempering, lamination, enameling, molding, assembly of insulating glass units, and manufacturing of fire-resistant products. At the final stage, the finished products are marked and packed in wooden crates or on special pyramids for safe transportation and storage.It is expected that the implementation of the standards will improve product quality and trust in construction materials."This is important for both the domestic market and for exports. Unified requirements allow domestic producers to operate according to international rules and strengthen their market position," emphasized the Ministry of Trade and Integration.Kazakhstanis will also feel the benefit of the new standards. Customs inspection is a form of customs control consisting in conducting an inspection and performing other actions with respect to goods, including vehicles and individuals’ baggage, with opening the packaging of goods, cargo spaces (compartments) of vehicles, tanks, containers or other places where goods are or may be found.The customs authority shall notify the declarant or another person having powers with regard to the goods, of the place and time of the customs inspection if these persons are identified, in any way that allows confirming the notification receipt.
