Vienna, May 21, 2025 – A side event dedicated to the return, rehabilitation, and reintegration of citizens from armed conflict zones was organized during the 34th session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ).The event, organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) with the support of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, highlighted the practical experiences of Central Asian countries in conducting humanitarian repatriation operations and implementing comprehensive reintegration programs.Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Stanislav Vasilenko, opened the event with welcoming remarks. At the Asian Boxing Championships, Karaganda athletes won four gold, two silver and one bronze medals. Competitions under the auspices of the Asian Boxing Confederation and the International Boxing Association were held in Sri Lanka, in the city of Colombo.Athletes from 23 countries took part in them.
