Support for domestic producers of goods within the framework of the national project "Modernization of the Energy and Utilities Sector" 25.01.2025
Today, the Vice Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Saparbekov, spoke at a briefing on the modernization of the energy and utilities sector. He touched upon plans to maximize the use of domestic goods within the framework of the national project. The national project "Modernization of the Energy and Utilities Sector" is aimed at using domestic goods and attracting investments. This will increase competitiveness and allow domestic enterprises to increase production volumes,” said Olzhas Saparbekov. The document sets goals to ensure the share of domestically produced products among suppliers at about 20% by 2025, and to reach a threshold of about 60% by 2029.In order to achieve the indicator, measures have been developed to support domestic producers, such as concluding offtake contracts to open new production capacities in the country, and developing an electronic procurement platform for open interaction between suppliers and contractors.A list of necessary products has been developed as part of the modernization of the energy and utilities sectors. According to preliminary data, the list consists of more than 1,000 items worth about 4 trillion tenge. These products are needed for the modernization of networks, stations, heat supply, water supply and sewage.A list of 187 enterprises producing more than 700 types of products has been created.“Domestic enterprises have the ability to fully meet the demand for reinforced concrete products, polyethylene pipes and certain types of transformers, boilers, cable products and switches,” the Vice Minister noted. The Vice Minister noted that today in Kazakhstan there is an opportunity to isolate production for more than 330 types of products out of the total demand.A mechanism for concluding offtake contracts is being considered for the localization of these types of goods. Thus, the needs of natural monopoly entities in goods will be analyzed by the technical operator. The analyzed volume will be provided to the national institutions “Kazakhinvest” and “Qazindustry”. These institutions will work to select investors or existing domestic producers who are ready to launch new types of production.Within the framework of the national project, we intend to establish mechanisms for supporting domestic producers in regulatory legal acts in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Transparency and trust: How Tañba's digital labeling is helping Kazakhstan's exports 25.01.2025
Recall that since October 1, 2024, the Unified Operator for Labeling and Tracking of Goods (Tañba) has been offering a service for obtaining control identification marks (CIS) for exporters of Kazakhstani light industrial goods. The innovation has allowed 120 Kazakhstani exporters to mark their textile products for sale on Wildberries, Ozon and other popular marketplaces. Previously, Kazakhstani exporters did not have such an opportunity, and selling their goods through marketplaces in the Russian Federation was unavailable. From March 1, 2023, it has become mandatory to check the marking code of each light industrial product before selling it on marketplaces in Russia. Failure to check the marking code is a violation, and such a situation will lead to fines from both the marketplace and sellers of unmarked light industrial goods.Today, participants in commodity circulation are actively joining the digital marking system, which opens up new opportunities for export, including selling goods on popular marketplaces. The total number of BSBs ordered today is more than 196 thousand units.“Goods labeling plays an important role in strengthening the position of Kazakhstani goods in international markets. It not only increases market transparency and confidence in our products, but also helps them meet international standards. This is an important step for the development of exports and strengthening the image of Kazakhstan as a reliable trading partner,” said Yerlan Karabayev, head of the footwear labeling project. In addition to applying BSBs to light industrial goods, the exporter must send the goods shipping documents to the consignee through the Russian operator’s labeling system, so that he can put the BSB into circulation in the recipient country.Product labeling is a mandatory requirement for entering markets and marketplaces in a number of countries. This tool provides Kazakhstani exporters with access to international markets and increases consumer confidence in the brand. For reference: Since 2020, Kazakhtelecom has been appointed as the single operator for labeling and tracking goods in Kazakhstan. To date, mandatory labeling has been introduced for three product groups: footwear, tobacco products, and medicines. Pilot labeling projects have been launched for the following product groups: motor oils, brewing products, and jewelry.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/mps/press/news/details/924212
