Cooperation Prospects with the Republic of Moldova Discussed in Mangystau 06.09.2025
Today, on September 4, Akim of Mangystau Region Nurdaulet Kilybay met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Ștefan Gorda.During the meeting, the parties discussed areas of the region’s economic development and prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation. The Akim presented Mangystau’s potential in the fields of oil and gas production, processing industry, transport and logistics, agro-industrial complex, and tourism.Special attention was given to the capabilities of the Aktau and Kuryk ports, as well as the strategic importance of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. Today, the region is becoming a key transit hub between Europe and Asia. The Reading Nation project was presented in Shymkent 06.09.2025
Within the framework of the initiative of the Head of State, announced at the National Kurultai, a republican project was launched. The official presentation of the republican project "Reading Nation" took place in Shymkent. It was launched as part of the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, which he announced at the National Kurultai. The event was attended by university and college teachers, educators, young people and media representatives. The project is being implemented on the initiative of the public foundation "Kitap Okityn Ult". Its main goal is to develop a reading culture in the country, increase the intellectual potential of the nation and provide citizens of all ages with quality literature. The project has a comprehensive structure and covers six categories: Reading school Reading College Reading University Reading teacher A civil servant reading Reading family Each participant must read 15 works from a list specially developed for their category. The list was approved based on the recommendations of an expert group, which included representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scientific institutes and the academic community. The content and volume of the books are selected in accordance with the age and professional focus of the readers. The shortest work is 120 pages, and the longest is no more than 700. On average, one book is 300-400 pages long. According to the head of the project’s program group, Bekarystan Amanzholov, the main feature of the initiative is a large prize fund created to motivate reading. "Currently, Kazakhstan ranks low in the world ranking of reading countries. Our goal is to improve this indicator and enter the top ten. To do this, we used the method of financial incentives to interest people. The winner in each category will be awarded a prize of 1 million tenge," he said. The total prize fund is 40 million tenge. Each category is awarded: 1st place - 1,000,000 tenge 2nd place - 600,000 tenge 3rd place - 400,000 tenge Activities within the project The project will include various events: for schoolchildren - literary competitions; for college and university students - debates; for teachers - quizzes and quizzes; for civil servants - discussions on professional literature. In the Reading Family category, members of families of at least five people will read and discuss works together, thereby setting an example. An eco-excursion for young volunteers took place in Shymkent 06.09.2025
The event, organized as part of the "Clean Kazakhstan" campaign, was aimed at increasing the environmental culture of young people. An educational eco-excursion for young volunteers was organized in Shymkent as part of the "Clean Kazakhstan" environmental campaign. The event was jointly organized by the Shymkent Youth Resource Center, the ASAA volunteer organization, and the UNICEF volunteer movement. During the excursion, the participants got acquainted with the work of a local waste recycling enterprise - the "ECO Tire" plant. The young people saw the process of recycling used tires and received information about the production of rubber crumb and ways to reuse it. The plant's specialists explained in detail the environmental damage caused by rubber waste, the benefits of its recycling, and new technologies being used in this area. According to experts, recycling used tires helps reduce air and soil pollution, and also plays an important role in saving natural resources. The excursion also focused on raising the environmental culture of young people and encouraging them to be responsible for the environment. According to the organizers, such events encourage young people to actively participate in environmental initiatives and contribute to the formation of their "green consciousness". – Today's event was a unique experience for young people. Through concrete examples from the field of waste disposal, we were able to show that everyone's contribution is important in solving environmental problems. The activity of young volunteers is gratifying, – says one of the organizers of the event. Measures aimed at strengthening physical culture and increasing the level of public involvement in sports activities are being consistently implemented in Kostanay region. Sport is considered here as an essential component of social development and well-being. Conditions are being created in the region that allow residents, regardless of age and place of residence, to engage in an active and healthy daily life.According to our latest data, more than 380 thousand people in the region regularly play sports. This is about 45.5% of the population, which is a serious indicator demonstrating a steady interest in sports. I am particularly pleased that this interest is gradually embracing not only urban but also rural areas.One of the main areas of work remains the development of sports infrastructure. In 2025 alone, four new facilities were put into operation in the region: an indoor hockey court in the Mendykarinsky district, a sports and recreation complex in the Sarykolsky district, as well as two modern FOCa in the city of Rudny - Sokol and Sarybai, each of which is designed for hundreds of visitors. All facilities are designed with inclusivity and universal access in mind in order to reach as many residents as possible.Special attention is paid to young people and schoolchildren.Various competitions are held between young people. To date, such large-scale sporting events as the 38th Regional Spartakiad, the Regional Kazak Kures tournament "Kazakhstan Kyrany - 2025" dedicated to Constitution Day and others have been held. Also, our guys always show good results among thousands of participants in regional, national and international competitions. This shows that our coaches are also trying to contribute to the development of sports in the region.National sports have been prioritized along with Olympic sports.In recent years, national sports have been showing dynamic development. Kokpar, asyk ata, kazaksha kures, togyzkumalak, audarispak, at sports boyynsha baige turleri, and other traditional sports are actively developing in Kostanay region. Various competitions are also often held. About 15 competitions have been held in a month, where our guys showed good results. At the General Prosecutor’s Office, a concluding festive event was held dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great poet Abai Kunanbaiuly, the birthday of the public figure and enlightener Akhmet Baitursynuly, as well as the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan.Deputy Prosecutor General Galymzhan Mambetuly Koigeldiev delivered a welcoming speech at the solemn ceremony.In his address, he noted that the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbaiuly had been widely celebrated within the Prosecutor’s Office.As part of the event, the winners of the national contest “Bes Asyl Is” were awarded. Astana, September 4, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov held a meeting with representatives of leading US companies visiting Kazakhstan as part of a US trade mission. The parties discussed the status of ongoing and prospective projects, as well as the expansion of American companies’ presence in the Kazakh market.During the meeting, Honeywell representatives reported that the company is already operating through four enterprises in Kazakhstan and has launched two educational programs for students.
