"Tariff instead of investment": Karaganda CHP-3 to upgrade old boiler house this year 21.02.2025
This year, three boiler units and two turbines are planned to be overhauled at Karaganda CHP-3. A significant amount is earmarked for the modernization of boiler No. 1, which has been operating since the station was founded in 1977. Two boilers and one turbine will undergo overhaul at CHP-1. In addition, current repairs will be carried out on the main and auxiliary equipment at the energy sources. The "Tariff for Investment" program was announced at the Karaganda Energocenter company. From February 1, 2025, new tariffs for the production of heat and electricity came into force. The changes were approved by the Committee for Regulation of Natural Monopolies and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, respectively. In addition to production costs, tariffs include expenses for major repairs and equipment modernization under the investment program. - The cost of the repair campaign in 2025 will amount to 23.8 billion tenge. These funds will be spent on ensuring the reliability of equipment, improving environmental friendliness and removing capacity restrictions. In total, about 26 units of equipment at both stations will be repaired, - said Fleur Garipov, General Director of Karaganda Energocenter LLP. He recalled the large-scale projects previously implemented under the "Tariff for Investment" program. In 2012, a new turbine at CHP-3 was commissioned, and in 2016 a new power unit was built. Along with annual major repairs, this allowed to reduce the wear and tear of the station.According to the head of the company, over the past five years, the salary of employees has increased by 100%. 900 people work at CHP-3, and 300 at CHP-1. We solved the problem of personnel shortage by opening a training center on the basis of CHP-3 and developing dual training with colleges in the region, noted Fleur Garipov.CHP-3 Director Konstantin Pyatkov spoke in more detail about the upcoming major repairs of the old boiler house.– The largest volume of repair work is on this boiler house. The standard repair cycle for boiler houses is four years. And this year, major repairs will be carried out. The boiler's combustion chambers will be completely replaced - this is about 150 tons of metal. The heating surface and water economizer will also be updated - this is about another 40 tons. In addition, it is planned to modernize gas treatment equipment. The second-generation emulsifier will be replaced with third-generation equipment. This will increase the degree of purification, and accordingly reduce emissions into the environment. And as a result of the general overhaul, the reliability and stability of the equipment will increase, - he explained. The speakers said that the necessary equipment will be ordered abroad, and its manufacture will take from 90 days to six months. Therefore, the entire repair campaign was formed a year ago. After the end of this year's heating season, a program for 2026 will be prepared. In addition, to solve the problem of energy shortage, the implementation of the expansion project at CHPP-3 has begun. It is planned to install a new power unit by 2028. This will increase the power capacity of the station by 140 MW and heat capacity by 180 Gcal/h.– All contracts have been signed: design, equipment delivery and construction and installation works. We have prepared a land plot for construction. As a result of the project, an additional 55 jobs will be created, - said Fleur Garipov.A turbine equipment repair program has also been developed, which will be implemented from 2027.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/karaganda/press/news/details/939040

Using vegetable reserves and weekly fairs: Serik Zhumangarin held a meeting on stabilizing prices for socially significant food products 21.02.2025
Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin held a meeting on the issue of stabilizing prices for socially significant food products (SSF).According to the National Statistics Bureau, in January this year, the annual inflation rate in Kazakhstan amounted to 8.9%. The price dynamics were influenced by non-food goods and paid services. The annual growth rate of non-food goods increased by 8.4%, and the price of services increased by 13.8%.According to Aizhan Bizhanova, First Vice Minister of Trade and Integration, the SSF price index increased by 0.3% over the past week, and by 2.2% since the beginning of the year. This is due to the seasonal increase in the price of vegetables (cabbage, carrots, onions). An increase in the price of beef (1.2%) and sunflower oil (1.1%) was also recorded. From the beginning of the year to February 11, the highest growth was observed in Ulytau (4.8%), Aktobe (3.8%) and East Kazakhstan (2.7%) regions. In order to regulate prices, the release of products from stabilization stocks in the regions continues. According to Vice Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Taszhurekov, only 45.4 thousand tons of vegetables were sold out of the total 156.9 thousand tons of stocks. In some regions, the pace of vegetable sales is below the established volume, which leads to an increase in prices. For example, in Abay region, only 486 tons of potatoes out of 2.8 thousand tons were sold, as a result of which prices increased by 24.2%. A similar situation is observed in some regions with regard to the prices of carrots, cabbage and onions. He also said that according to akimats, at the end of January, excluding stocks in subsidiary farms, potato stocks amounted to 327 thousand tons. Meanwhile, from January 23 to February 14, the population's consumption amounted to 73.5 thousand tons. “Excluding private households, the stock of 253.5 thousand tons of potatoes will allow us to fully cover the domestic needs of the population until the early ripening crop of 2025 is received,” said Yerbol Taszhurekov.Serik Zhumangarin drew the attention of the meeting participants to the need to accelerate measures aimed at stabilizing food prices. The main goal is to promptly release products from stabilization stocks and hold weekly fairs in regions and megacities.“In order to avoid price fluctuations and any restrictions on sales, it is necessary to eliminate the difference in product prices at stabilization points. It is also necessary to work closely with municipal markets and trade networks. It is necessary to ensure the sale of products from stabilization stocks in February-March and the delivery of fresh vegetables in April. "These are the main tasks that the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Trade and Integration will solve together with the regions to maintain the stability of social food prices in the off-season period," Serik Zhumangarin concluded. Tulips bloom for the first time in a greenhouse in Balkhash 21.02.2025
Tulips have bloomed in the Balkhash greenhouse for the upcoming holidays. So far, there are not many flowers, but if there is demand, they will be grown all year round. The owner of the Balkhash greenhouse, Nariman Sarsembayev, says that he planted tulips as an experiment. Usually, cucumbers, tomatoes, sweet peppers and dill grow in his greenhouse.- Tulips are a new direction for us. We decided to diversify the assortment. Of course, we had to consult with the owners of greenhouses in Saran and Karaganda and study a lot. I myself rooted the flowers in the garage. There was the most favorable temperature for flowers. Now we are also maintaining the temperature in the greenhouse. Tulips need + 12 degrees, but the problem is that there are also tomatoes in the same greenhouse, and they need heat. As a result, we are maintaining a temperature of + 14. In the first batch, we made a small mistake in choosing the right darkness. But now we have realized our mistakes and will correct them, - said Nariman Sarsembayev. Now seven thousand tulips are growing in the greenhouse. If the demand for flowers is high, then they will be grown on a permanent basis. The entrepreneur plans to do this in a room where it is easy to maintain the required temperature. The Balkhash greenhouse occupies 2,500 square meters. Innovative agricultural methods such as hydroponics are used there. Tulips are also grown this way.- Of course, we want to expand. But all this is complex and requires large investments. Subsidies would help us a lot. Another problem is the shortage of personnel. There are few competent young agricultural specialists, says Nariman Sarsembayev.Despite these difficulties, the Balkhash greenhouse continues to harvest good crops of dill and vegetables.Employees are gaining knowledge and experience that they can share with young specialists. "Becoming an actress is a huge job": Meruert Utekeshova teaches girls who dream of acting in films at a meeting in Karaganda 21.02.2025
A documentary film "Kyz Zhibek: a recipe for love and success" dedicated to the legendary epic film "Kyz Zhibek" was shown in Karaganda. The presentation took place at the "Saryzhailau" cinema as part of the Days of Kazakh Cinema, which began in our republic. Meruert Utekeshova, Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, came to the meeting. The documentary film dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Sultan-Akhmet Kozhykov's film "Kyz Zhibek" was shot with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information and the National Center for Cinema Support. This is a reflection on why the epic film released in 1972 remains a pearl of national culture.Famous public figures, playwrights, and film critics express their opinions. Asanali Ashimov, a master of Kazakh cinema who played the role of Bekezhan, who hoped to win Zhibek's heart in the film "Kyz-Zhibek", shares his memories.Previously, the presentation was held in Almaty, at the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.- I am glad to come to you, to Karaganda. The city is wonderful, beautiful, and rich in culture. Now, before the premiere, we met at the Saken Seifullin Theater. For me, showing this documentary is a big event, - says the initiator of the shooting and the film's producer Meruert Utekeshova. The idea for such a project arose during the lifetime of the actress's husband Kuman Tastambekov, who played the role of Tolegen in the film "Kyz-Zhibek". Meruert Utekeshova believes that it is important to remember Kazakh classics forever, to leave them as a cultural heritage for future generations. She is sure that from the legendary epic, you can still learn directing, acting, and cameramanship. There were many young people among those who came to the premiere in Karaganda. It is known that the role of Zhibek opened Meruert's path to the profession of an actor. At that time, she was 16 years old, a tenth-grade student decided to take part in the competition and went on the set for the first time in her life.During the interview, the famous film and theater actress answered a question about girls who go to castings in the hope of getting a role and becoming famous.- You know, nothing comes easy. It's not like they say I'll act in films, I'll appear on the screen. Being an actress is a huge amount of work. If you have talent, you'll shine. If you don't, you might get lucky once, and then nothing will develop. Don't think that my first and main role was easy. I haven't told anyone, and I won't. Now I teach at the Institute of Arts in Astana. And no one taught me. There was an inner intuition, thanks to which I felt my colleagues, the director, the operator. And I did not know that an internal monologue was necessary, that preparation was necessary. Now we have been teaching it for four years: some people have it, some do not. I repeat: a lot of hard work and soulfulness are what is needed in any profession, - said Meruert Utekeshova.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/karaganda/press/news/details/937629

Karaganda region tests cable barriers along the road 21.02.2025
Interim tests of an innovative type of road barrier, i.e. cable barriers, have been successfully completed on one of the sections of the Astana-Karaganda (KAZ01) highway of republican significance in the Karaganda region with a high risk of snow accumulation. The tests were conducted on a 500-meter-long experimental section near the city of Temirtau. The cable equipment was installed along the road in the direction of Karaganda, specifically on the belt separating the lanes and on the right side of the road. As a result of the tests, this device showed high efficiency in adverse weather conditions (during a blizzard).Cable barriers have significant advantages over traditional metal barriers. They are especially effective in conditions of heavy snow and strong winds. They allow snow to pass freely through the cables. This prevents it from accumulating on the dividing strips and edges of the road. Such barriers also help reduce the cost of mechanical cleaning of roads. The mentioned types of fences are actively used in the USA, Japan and Europe due to their economic efficiency. The project is being implemented under the scientific and technical guidance of specialists from the Kazzhol Research Institute. They will conduct a two-year monitoring of the effectiveness of cable fences in various weather and operating conditions. If the experience gives positive results, cable fences can become an alternative to traditional metal barriers in areas with a high risk of snowfall. It is expected that these fences will ensure safe movement in winter.Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/karaganda/press/news/details/938020
