The Almaty City Department of Entrepreneurship and Investments announces the start of a competition for the best New Year's decoration of facades and adjacent territories among representatives of small and medium-sized businesses. Owners of shops, public catering establishments, service facilities and other representatives of small and medium-sized businesses in Almaty are invited to participate. Duration: from December 26 to January 13. The results of the competition will be announced on January 14, 2025. The competition commission includes members of the Almaty City Public Council, representatives of industry associations and experts. Winners will be determined in four nominations: Best decoration of a grocery store - a prize of 1 million tenge; Best decoration of a non-food store - 1 million tenge. tenge prize; Best decoration of a object in the field of public catering – a prize of 1 million tenge; Best decoration of a object in the field of service – a prize of 1 million tenge. The winner of the Grand Prize will receive a prize of 2 million tenge. Almaty has festive yurts decorated in the national style. They are installed in three prominent places of the city: Astana and Abai squares, and on Arbat. The doors of the yurts, where Santa Claus will welcome guests, will be open to visitors every day from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Residents and guests of the city will be able to take pictures with the main character of the New Year until December 31 and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of joy and miracles. On December 31, yurts will be open on Astana Square until midnight, and at the beginning of 2025 there will be a New Year's concert followed by fireworks. In the remaining days before the New Year, various creative workshops, interesting games, live performances on decorated stages and meetings with favorite New Year's characters will be held near the yurts. Masters and craftsmen will hold master classes for the whole family, where guests can make unique New Year's toys with their own hands. It will be possible to decorate wooden Christmas tree toys, decorate mugs with bright drawings and decorative elements, make music boxes and animate plaster figures on a New Year's theme.
