Astana, December 10, 2024 – Ambassador-at-Large – Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Zhanibek Abdrashov, delivered a welcoming speech at a cultural event dedicated to the closing of the advocacy campaign “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence” in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.The event was organized by UN-Women in cooperation with the Central Asian Alliance for the Elimination of Gender-Based Violence.Ambassador Abdrashov stressed the successful implementation of the joint EU-UN “Spotlight Initiative” in Central Asia, the creation of the Central Asian Alliance for the Elimination of Gender-Based Violence, as well as the adoption of the UN Human Rights Council resolution on the elimination of domestic violence, supported by more than 60 countries. An important milestone was the election of the famous Kazakh diplomat Madina Zharbusynova to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). A meeting of the Working Group on Afghanistan under the CSTO Foreign Ministers was held in Moscow 14.12.2024

Astana, 6 December 2024 – The Committee on Investments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan, supported by JSC “NC “Kazakh Invest” and JSC “NC “Kazakh Tourism,” organized an acceleration program aimed at improving the investment climate and identifying barriers hindering the implementation of investment projects in the tourism sector. Kostanay, 9 December 2024 – During a working visit to the Kostanay region, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov and Managing Director of JSC “NC “Kazakh Invest” Azamat Kozhanov held a meeting with the Akim of the region, Kumar Aksakalov, and visited several production facilities.During the meeting with the regional akim, the parties discussed the region’s potential for implementing investment projects in key sectors such as agriculture, mining, and mechanical engineering. Special attention was paid to the modernization of infrastructure to support investment activities, including the development of logistics routes.The delegation also visited the Sokolov Quarry and the processing plant of JSC “Sokolov-Sarbai Mining and Production Association” in Rudny, which specializes in the extraction of iron ore and the production of iron ore pellets and concentrate. They also visited a dairy and ice cream production plant and the construction site of a cheese production workshop of “MILKH” LLP, where the company’s management shared plans to expand production facilities.The delegation also held a meeting with “Qostanai Grain Industry” LLP, where company executives presented a planned investment project for the deep processing of grain, valued at 70 billion tenge. The project is scheduled for launch in 2027, with a production capacity of 415,000 tons of grain per year. TURKESTAN: SAGYNDYK TOGABAI IS THE CHAMPION OF ASIA! 14.12.2024
Our compatriot Sagyndyk Togambai won the Asian Boxing Championship, which was held in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The athlete of the national team in the 92 kg weight category defeated Parviz Karimov (Tajikistan) in the final. The bronze medalist of the Asian Games in Hangzhou dominated the first and second rounds, knocking out his opponent. Akim of Turkestan region Darkhan Satybaldy met with well-known entrepreneur, President of South Oil company Serikzhan Seitzhanov, as well as with the management of TSS company. During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of joint investment projects.Serikzhan Seitzhanov said that six major projects have been launched in the region, two of which are under active construction. The issues of bringing the infrastructure to the phosphorus enrichment and processing plant have been resolved: water and electricity are provided. It is expected that about 80% of the plant's products will be exported. A new modern Zhastar park has been put into operation in Turkestan. These pellets are able to effectively melt ice at extremely low temperatures — from -30°C to -40°C. The results of the republican project competition on the topic "Ways to solve corruption problems in the areas included in the map of corruption risks of the Turkestan region" were summed up in the House of Friendship of the city of Turkestan. SHYMKENT UNITES FOR A CLEAN FUTURE: 300 TONS OF GARBAGE WERE REMOVED AS PART OF THE "TAZA KAZAKHSTAN" CAMPAIGN 13.12.2024
On December 13, a citywide environmental action was held in Shymkent within the framework of the republican program "Taza Kazakhstan". The purpose of the large–scale event is not only to clean up the territories, but also to draw the attention of citizens to the need to take care of the environment.The event was attended by employees of city organizations, representatives of educational institutions, volunteers and concerned residents. In total, more than 2,000 people and 75 units of specialized equipment were involved. As a result of the cleaning, over 300 tons of garbage were collected and removed.Special attention was paid to cleaning the central streets, parks, squares and surrounding areas. On December 10-11 this year, the 5th meeting of the Kazakh-Jordanian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation was held in Amman (Jordan) with the participation of Vice Minister of Transport Lastaev T.T.The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Baybazarov Nurlan Serikovich and Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Yarub Al-Kuda.During the meeting, a wide range of issues related to bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Jordan were discussed.Issues of strengthening trade and economic cooperation, as well as the development of transport corridors and logistics were discussed.
