YOUNG CHINESE RESEARCHERS GAIN EXPERIENCE AT SATBAEV UNIVERSITY Five doctoral students from the People's Republic of China are studying at the O.A.Baikonurov Mining and Metallurgical Institute Satbayev University under the educational program "Innovative Technologies and New Inorganic Materials": Qu Chuangzhuang, Gao Lili, Liu Jingjing, Guo Xiaohong and Li Jia. At the Department of Chemical Processes and Industrial Ecology, young scientists are working on research aimed at using innovative materials for wastewater treatment, developing nano- and composite materials, as well as introducing advanced technologies in ecology and industry. The young scientists expressed gratitude to the university for creating conditions for study and research, as well as for the opportunity to work under the guidance of leading scientists from Kazakhstan, China, Malaysia, Poland and the United Kingdom. – A month has passed since I arrived in Kazakhstan, and during this time we met new friends and had an interesting time. In the future, I plan to synthesize carbon-based materials and apply them to all types of energy storage systems. I am very grateful to the members of the group for their help, especially PhD doctors Kydyr and my colleague Elriza. May the friendship between China and Kazakhstan become stronger," said Liu Jingjing, a first-year doctoral student from Shandong Province. 106 new schools have opened across the country since the beginning of the school year 16.11.2024
In just two and a half months of the academic year, 106 new schools with 150,000 student places opened their doors in the regions, the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.Of these, about 90 thousand students study in 33 comfortable schools. A republican forum of children's healthcare specialists is being held in Shymkent these days.The participants of the seminar-meeting discuss the most relevant range of tasks and issues for improving the organization of medical care for children for the country's pediatric service.In the face of growing challenges and rapid changes in the healthcare sector, pediatrics remains one of the most important areas of medicine, providing children not only with competent diagnosis and timely treatment, but also disease prevention, the formation of healthy habits from an early age."We intend to improve existing preventive care, develop new successful types of care, digital technologies aimed at preventing manageable causes of child mortality. The Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues large-scale work on the reconstruction and renovation of historical theaters.The Mukhtar Auezov Kazakh National Drama Theater will undergo major repairs for the first time since its construction. The deterioration of the engineering networks and the material and technical base of the theater creates a risk of fires. The reconstruction will be carried out with respect to the historical appearance of the theater, taking into account its status as a cultural monument of local importance.In parallel, the internal renovation of the building of the Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abai is underway, which is carried out thanks to sponsorship funds. Seven rooms have already been renovated, including orchestra and choir halls, a museum, dressing rooms, a reception hall, etc.Significant changes are expected in the Natalia Sats State Academic Russian Theater for Children and Youth. Kazakhstan, among only 9 countries out of 197 members of the UNFCCC, presented the Biennial Transparency report (BTR1) at the COP29.Besides our republic, Japan, Spain, Turkey, Singapore and the Netherlands are among those who have completed such a large-scale work. According to it, the Republic of Kazakhstan is obliged to submit a Biennial Transparency Report (Biennial Transparencyreport – BTR1) by December 31, 2024.BTR1 includes mandatory information on the inventory of greenhouse gases and tracking the implementation of ONUV. Kazakhstan took part in the EU Conference on Disarmament and non-proliferation 16.11.2024
Brussels, November 12-13, 2024 – First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akan Rakhmetullin took part in the European Union Conference on disarmament and non-proliferation.The event was also attended by high-level representatives of the European External Action Service, the European Commission, the United States, China, Great Britain, France and other countries, as well as the heads of the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs, the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research, the Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation, the IAEA, the CTBTO, leading scientific, educational institutions and international analytical centers.Speaking as Chairman of the second session of the Preparatory Committee for the 2026 NPT Review Conference, A. Rakhmetullin noted that, despite the existing challenges, the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) remains the fundamental and universal mechanism for nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, as well as a key forum for discussing these issues. He noted that the integrity of the Treaty is vital for ensuring global peace and security.Expressing hope for maintaining a responsible collective approach in the work of the final Preparatory committee next year, the Kazakh diplomat stressed that this would create the basis for a successful Review Conference on the Implementation of the 2026 NPT, where specific and meaningful recommendations are expected to be adopted.The conference participants noted the solid international legal framework in the field of nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament, stressed the importance of observing the principles of multilateralism and maintaining a constant dialogue.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/mfa/press/news/details/883600
