The EEC Council supported Kazakhstan's proposal to extend the validity period of navigation seals 15.07.2026
At a meeting of the EEC Council held online, the Kazakh side, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin, proposed extending the validity period of navigation seals produced in third countries and used to track the shipment of goods. This decision is necessary because, in accordance with the current EEC Council decision, operators in EAEU member states must use exclusively navigation seals produced within the Union, effective September 7, 2026.In Kazakhstan, the national cargo tracking operator is the Institute of Space Engineering and Technology of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development. In addition to its own devices, the operator uses approximately 10,000 leased navigation seals produced in third countries for a two-year lease. Early replacement of these seals will entail additional costs. However, the current production capacity of EAEU countries is not yet sufficient to fully meet Kazakhstan's demand for navigation seals. At the same time, enterprises have already been identified in Kazakhstan that will establish local production. Launching production will take time.Following the discussion, the EEC Council supported the Kazakh proposal and extended the effective date of the Eurasian Commission's decision until January 1, 2028.Furthermore, the EEC Council approved amendments to the Regulation on the uniform procedure for conducting joint inspections of facilities and sampling products subject to veterinary control. According to the amendments, authorized bodies are authorized to initiate the removal from the register of third-country enterprises that have not supplied regulated products to the territory of EAEU member states for more than five years.Amendments to the EAEU technical regulation "On the safety of perfumery and cosmetic products" were also approved. These amendments provide for a one-year extension of the mandatory requirement for double toxicological testing of products. This decision was made given the limited number of accredited laboratories capable of conducting such testing.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/mti/press/news/details/1256385?lang=ru
