The excavation sites of the channel for the discharge of meltwater from the snow landfill were identified, as well as problem areas in the body of the dam for its further strengthening. Based on the results of the survey, recommendations have been prepared to responsible state bodies, the solution of which will ensure the safe passage of the flood period in the capital. As part of flood control measures in the East Kazakhstan region, an aerial visual survey of flood-prone areas in the Altai and Ulken-Naryn, Glubokovsky and Katon-Karagay districts was conducted. The flight was attended by the head of the Emergency Department Rashid Blyalov, Deputy akim of the region Bakytzhan Bayakhmetov and specialists from interested organizations. As a result of the flyby, the situation of settlements located along the Bukhtarma River, as well as the Glubokovsky district, was monitored. The initial phase of the formation of a stable snow cover is marked along the entire route, and the ice formation phase is underway on the rivers. In the region, in order to prevent the occurrence of flood events in 2025, an Engineering Work Plan was approved, according to which 55 flood control measures are being implemented in 13 districts of the region. Majilis approves free trade agreements with Iran and Singapore 05.12.2024
Two international agreements were ratified at the plenary session of the Mazhilis chaired by the Speaker of the Chamber Yerlan Koshanov.The Majilis has ratified the Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and its member states, on the one hand, and Iran, on the other hand. According to Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev, it was concluded in order to create favorable trade conditions with Iran.– Today, a preferential trade regime is applied between our countries for a limited list of goods. The new agreement provides for duty-free trade in almost 90% of the product range. Iran undertakes obligations to apply zero duties on most goods and not to apply restrictions on trade," the Vice minister reported.At the same time, when importing particularly sensitive goods from Iran, import customs duties remain (cattle and poultry meat, dairy products, sugar, alcohol, cigarettes, baby food, honey, polymers and other petrochemical products, herbicides, packaging bags and others).The Free Trade Agreement and the Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Cooperation between the EAEU and its member States, on the one hand, and Singapore, on the other hand, have also been ratified. The first document establishes mutual obligations to establish a duty-free trade regime for goods, except for particularly sensitive ones. Strengthening cybersecurity and digitalization of the energy complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan discussed in Astana 05.12.2024
On December 3-4, 2024, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with JSC Situational Analytical Center of the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan, UNDESA and ESCAPE held a WorkShop "Future Energy Dialogue 2024". The event was organized as part of a joint project on digitalization of the energy industry using regulatory sandbox approaches. More than 100 participants, including representatives of government agencies, business, academia and international experts, focused on developing solutions to enhance cybersecurity of Kazakhstan's critical infrastructure (KVOIKI), which became a key topic of the Workshop.The main directions:- Cybersecurity: developing strategies to protect logistics, prevent cyber attacks and ensure the sustainability of the industry.- Digital transformation: the use of AI technologies to increase the efficiency and sustainability of the fuel and energy sector.- Legislation: updating regulatory standards in the field of cybersecurity.- EnergyTech platform: implementation of monitoring, data protection and energy management tools.Results:- Recommendations have been prepared on the modernization of the regulatory framework to strengthen the protection of quotas.- The interaction of the state and business for the implementation of cybersecurity solutions has been strengthened.- The prospects for the creation of an Industry Information Security Center (OtSIB) to protect critical energy infrastructure are outlined.The WorkShop stressed the importance of prioritizing the cybersecurity of the fuel and energy sector as the basis for a stable and secure energy system in Kazakhstan.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/energo/press/news/details/896518

On December 4, 2024, Vice Minister Batyrbek Abdyshev met with representatives of the Chinese company China Surveying and Mapping Technology at the Command Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The foreign delegation was headed by the company's CEO Zhang Xiaodong.During the meeting, the possibilities of cooperation in the use of remote sensing data for emergency monitoring were discussed.
