"Law and Order": a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Anti-Corruption Issues was held in East Kazakhstan Region 27.06.2025
In the East Kazakhstan region, as part of the promotion of the "Law and Order" narrative, a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Anti-Corruption Commission under the Akimat of the region was held. The meeting was chaired by Akim of the region Nurymbet Saktaganov, with the participation of Denis Shakenov, Head of the Anti-Corruption Agency Department for East Kazakhstan region, as well as heads of law enforcement and authorized government agencies. The key topics on the agenda were the implementation of the Corruption Risk Map, such as the agro-industrial complex, the social sphere, construction, road infrastructure and business protection. In addition, the work of compliance services of the quasi-public sector was assessed, and problematic issues of completing long-term construction were discussed. In his opening remarks, the Governor of the region noted the need for a coordinated and systematic approach of all departments to the fight against corruption, focusing on preventive work as the main task. The head of the Anti-Corruption Service also supported this position, stressing that success is possible only if there is an open dialogue and the responsibility of the authorities concerned. The main report was delivered by Asylkhan Ashikov, First Deputy Head of the Anti-Corruption Agency Department for East Kazakhstan region. During the presentation, systemic problems were voiced, such as manipulations with the return of agricultural land, the lack of a uniform approach to the social obligations of subsurface users, the late completion of construction of facilities, the presence of administrative barriers in the implementation of investment projects, as well as insufficient involvement of compliance services in identifying and eliminating corruption risks. In addition, the positive effect of the introduction of cloud accounting in the social sphere was noted separately, which made it possible to identify more than 500 suspicious transactions worth about 140 million tenge. Following the meeting, concrete steps were proposed to eliminate violations and systematically prevent corruption. Indonesia-Kazakhstan Tour Operators Meeting: A New Course for Tourism Development 27.06.2025
Jakarta, June 26, 2025 – The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Indonesia, with the support of the national company Kazakh Tourism, organized a presentation on Kazakhstan’s tourism potential. The event brought together more than 50 representatives of the tourism industry, including leading Indonesian travel companies and Kazakh tour operators.The primary objective of the event was to promote Kazakhstan as a promising travel destination in Central Asia and to establish direct partnerships between tourism industry stakeholders from both countries. During the meeting, participants discussed preparatory steps for the planned Indonesia-Kazakhstan Tour Operators Forum.Representatives of Kazakh Tourism delivered a comprehensive presentation highlighting Kazakhstan’s competitive advantages. Kazakhstan and the WCO discussed priorities for digital transformation and the development of the Middle Corridor 27.06.2025
       Brussels, 26 June 2025 — On the margins of the 145th/146th Sessions of the Council of the World Customs Organization (WCO), a bilateral meeting took place between Mr. Zhandos Duisembiyev, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Mr. Ian Saunders, Secretary General of the WCO.      The parties discussed key WCO reform priorities, including digitalization, the resilience of global supply chains, improved governance mechanisms, and strengthening the role of Members. Kazakhstan expressed its support for the WCO’s strategic focus on practical implementation and inclusiveness.      Special attention was given to the development of the Middle Corridor as an alternative trade route between Asia and Europe. The Chairman underlined that Kazakhstan is actively modernizing border crossing points, implementing digital solutions, and expanding cooperation with neighboring countries to ensure the sustainable operation of this route.     The meeting also addressed the use of artificial intelligence technologies in customs administration. Financial stability and social focus: The Minister of Finance presented the results of the republican budget for 2024 27.06.2025
At a joint meeting of the chambers of Parliament, the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Madi Takiev, made a report on the implementation of the republican budget for 2024, noting the key economic results and financial indicators achieved during the reporting period.According to the report, in 2024, the country's GDP grew by 4.8%, mainly due to the non-oil sector, and in the first five months of this year, growth was already 6%. At the same time, the share of non-oil revenues in the consolidated budget structure increased by 2.5 percentage points, inflation decreased from 9.8% to 8.6%, and the budget deficit amounted to 2.7% of GDP. The assets of the National Fund increased by 16% and amounted to 66.2 billion US dollars. Under the National Fund for Children program, over 7 million children have received charges of $233 per child in two years.The annual revenue plan of the republican budget has been fulfilled by 97.2% (19.6 trillion tenge). The main reasons for the shortage are a decrease in imports, postponement of the launch of major projects, and a threefold increase in VAT refunds. Nevertheless, gross VAT receipts increased by 4.8%, and due to the fight against the shadow economy, the budget received an additional 1.28 trillion tenge (+37% by 2023).Budget expenditures were executed by 97.8% and amounted to 23.6 trillion tenge. Substantial funds are allocated to the social sphere and infrastructure. 93.8 billion tenge was allocated to raise salaries for teachers, 4,557 families were provided with housing, 789 kindergartens were opened, and 100% of children from vulnerable categories were provided with free meals. 19 million m2 of housing was commissioned, more than 300 thousand people were gasified, 3.5 thousand km of water supply networks, 542 km of heating networks were modernized and new generation facilities with a capacity of more than 700 MW were built.751 billion tenge was allocated for national projects, which made it possible to build 105 schools (254 thousand places), eliminate the problem of emergency and three-shift schools, and complete the construction of 460 healthcare facilities. Additionally, in 2025, it is planned to introduce 195 medical institutions and modernize 32 multidisciplinary district hospitals.Repairs of 1.5 thousand km of the main railway network were also completed. The volume of traffic along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TM) increased by 62% in 2024, to 4.5 million tons. At the same time, transit increased 4 times, and transit from China increased 28 times. Three new terminals have been commissioned at the airports of Almaty, Kyzylorda and Shymkent.The minister also reported on the efficiency of using budget funds: the amount of inefficient expenditures in 2024 decreased by 24% and amounted to 372 billion tenge. Last year, the Government prioritized support for domestic producers. Within the framework of regulated purchases, long-term and offtake contracts have been concluded with domestic enterprises in the amount of over 1 trillion tenge. The physical volume index (PVI) of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for January-March 2025 (a reported data) in relation to 2024 amounted to the appropriate period 105,6%. In the structure of GDP, the share of production of goods is 34,9%, services –58,5%. The largest growth was shown by the Transportation and storage – 121,2%, Construction – 116,9%, Manufacturing –108,8%, Mining and quarrying –106,2%, The industries made largest contributed to the GVA GDP Industry– 1,92%, Transportation and storage –1,27% and Wholesale and retail trade; car and motorcycle repair– 1%.    GDP - in market prices, is the final result of the production activities of resident producers. Kazakhstan Delegation Participates in the 92nd Session of the WCO Policy Commission 27.06.2025
             Brussels, 23–25 June 2025 — The delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the 92nd Session of the Policy Commission of the World Customs Organization (WCO), held at the WCO Headquarters in Brussels. The session brought together senior officials from Customs administrations of WCO Members to discuss key priorities on the global Customs agenda and the Organization’s strategic development.       The session addressed initiatives aimed at modernizing the WCO’s work, enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening partnerships, and developing resilient trade chains. Special focus was placed on digitalization, inclusiveness, and engagement with the private sector.       On 25 June, the Kazakhstan delegation also participated in the annual Dialogue between the Policy Commission and the Private Sector Consultative Group. During the discussions, participants reaffirmed the importance of open dialogue between public authorities and the business community, aimed at finding practical solutions in the context of evolving global trade. Ulaanbaatar, June 26, 2025 – As part of his official visit to Mongolia, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu met with the country’s Minister of Roads and Transport, Borkhuu Delgersaikhan.The parties confirmed the high level of mutual understanding and emphasized the importance of deepening Kazakh-Mongolian cooperation in the field of transport and logistics.The close geographical interconnectedness of Kazakhstan and Mongolia was noted, creating objective prerequisites for expanding the partnership. A book exhibition “Nashakorlyk – Gasyr Derti” was also organized and a bibliographic review was conducted. Participants of the event familiarized themselves with the literature on the medical, social and legal consequences of drug addiction.“Organizer of the work of the social department of the Taldykorgan city clinic,” Alina Sharipbaeva, gave an informative report on the topic “Psychotropic substances” and gave comprehensive answers to questions from listeners. Law and Order Week in East Kazakhstan Region: Reporting on corruption is the foundation of a fair society 27.06.2025
Within the framework of the national ideology of "Law and Order", the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Corruption in the East Kazakhstan region constantly emphasizes the importance of active citizen participation in the detection and suppression of corruption offenses. Inspectors of the battalion of the highway patrol police of the East Kazakhstan Region Police Department demonstrate a vivid example of civic responsibility and honesty. So, while on duty, inspectors stopped citizens who violated traffic rules. During the registration of the protocol, the detainees tried to bribe the police. However, the police officers showed loyalty to the principles of law and order and immediately reported the incident to the Anti-Corruption Service. As a result, a criminal case was initiated on this fact, which was successfully considered in court, and a guilty verdict was passed against the persons who offered the bribe.
