Bern, March 9 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Swiss Confederation Kairat Sarzhanov met with the Director of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy Benoît Revaz.The parties discussed the current state and future prospects of Kazakhstan-Switzerland cooperation in the energy sector, including the development of nuclear and renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, and coordination of positions on international platforms. The results of the sketch project competition were summarized in Kostanay, which involved 3rd and 4th-year students of the Kostanay Construction College. The competition aimed to support the creative and professional potential of future specialists in the fields of architecture, construction, and design.Participants were tasked with developing conceptual solutions for real urban spaces. This format allowed students to go beyond the academic curriculum and apply their acquired knowledge in practice by proposing ideas for urban environment development.Projects in several areas were presented as part of the competition. One of them was the creation of an eco-quarter — a concept for improving a site at the intersection of Abay Avenue and Baimagambetov Street. Students proposed options for transforming the area into a modern public space with a square and elements of ecological improvement.Participants also presented developments in the field of smart urbanism. The projects involved creating small architectural forms using modern technologies, as well as navigation systems for more comfortable orientation in the urban environment.A separate area of the competition was dedicated to conceptual ideas for integrating residential complexes with social facilities and implementing environmental solutions into urban infrastructure.The submitted works were evaluated by a jury, which included specialists in urban planning and architecture. The "Snow Landing" campaign was held in the Denisovsky district 08.03.2026
In the Denisovsky district, as part of the republican campaign "Snow Landing," volunteers assisted a lonely pensioner, showing care and attention to the older generation.The main goal of the campaign is to support elderly people, fostering a culture of mutual assistance and mercy in society. The initiative also aims to increase youth activity and popularize traditions of respect for the older generation.During the event, active youth from the district visited a pensioner living alone and helped clear snow from her yard and the adjacent area around her house. Tourism Opportunities of Kazakhstan Discussed in Seoul 08.03.2026
On 4 March 2026, an event dedicated to discussing the tourism potential of Kazakhstan was held in Seoul with the participation of leading Korean tour operators.During the meeting, presentations were delivered by SCAT Airlines and on Kazakhstan’s tourism destinations. In particular, Mr. Andrey Tsygankov, representative of SCAT Airlines, spoke about the airline’s plans to expand the number of flights to South Korea.In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Korea Nurgali Arystanov highlighted the growing interest of Korean travelers in Kazakhstan and emphasized the importance of further strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of tourism, transport and humanitarian ties.The Ambassador noted that Kazakhstan, with its rich historical and cultural heritage, unique natural landscapes and dynamically developing economy, is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for both tourism and business travel. The expansion of direct air connectivity between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea plays a particularly important role in the development of tourism exchanges.Currently, 11 flights per week operate between the two countries during the winter season and up to 20 flights per week during the summer period. Air connections link the Kazakh cities of Almaty, Astana and Shymkent with Seoul and Busan, contributing to improved transport accessibility for foreign tourists and the development of business contacts.Special attention during the event was given to the successful operation of the direct Incheon – Shymkent flight, which currently operates twice a week with the potential to increase to three flights per week in the near future.A positive trend in mutual tourism exchanges was also noted. In 2025, Kazakhstan was visited by approximately 51,000 tourists from the Republic of Korea, representing an increase of 26% compared to the previous year. In turn, about 65,000 citizens of Kazakhstan visited the Republic of Korea, reflecting an increase of 18%.It was emphasized that the further development of tourism cooperation takes place against the backdrop of active political dialogue between the two countries. In this context, the significance of the upcoming visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Republic of Korea to participate in the C5+K Summit in September 2026 was highlighted. Kigali, 6 March 2026 – In the State House of Rwanda, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Rwanda Barlybay Sadykov presented his Letters of Credence to President Paul Kagame.During the formal credential presentation ceremony, the Kazakh Ambassador stated that Astana attaches particular importance to strengthening relations between the two countries, including intensifying political dialogue and cooperation in trade, economic, investment, and humanitarian spheres.Special attention during the conversation was given to the outcomes of the landmark official visit of Rwandan President Paul Kagame to Kazakhstan on 27–29 May 2025. On March 7, 2026, with the assistance of the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Samarkand, a meeting was held between representatives of the Kazakh company «INT-TRO»  – company founder Igor Yom and CTO Dmitry Tsoi – and Samarkand City Governor Fazliddin Umarov and the Head of the Samarkand Region Department of Transport Ravshan Tojiyev.During the meeting, «INT-TRO» presented its technological capabilities and strategic vision for implementing digital solutions in public transportation management. International Women’s Day Celebrated in the National Guard 07.03.2026
Today, about 1,500 women serve in the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Among them, more than 240 work in financial support, around 50 serve in communications, 80 are involved in guarding important state facilities, 50 serve in aviation, and 53 monitor the moral and psychological condition of servicemen of all categories.Alongside men, they carry out challenging service duties to ensure the public security of the country, sharing both the responsibilities and achievements of this traditionally male profession. More than 200 of them hold officer positions.On the eve of International Women’s Day, a ceremonial event dedicated to March 8 was held at the capital’s Military Brigade 5573 of the National Guard.Traditionally on this day, female servicemen, veterans, and representatives of cooperating agencies were honored with awards and commemorative gifts on behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Deputy Minister — Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard. For their conscientious fulfillment of official duties and high service performance, they were presented with badges, certificates of honor, and letters of appreciation.Earlier, at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, several servicemen were awarded state decorations presented on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It was separately noted that a republican referendum on the adoption of the draft new Constitution is scheduled for March 15, 2026, during which the country's citizens will make a final decision on the updated constitutional model.In this context, the parties noted with satisfaction a number of achievements in the implementation of the bilateral agenda.
