On November 9, 2024, on behalf of the Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov, Vice Minister of Agriculture Amangali Berdalin visited the Turkestan region.The purpose of the trip was to discuss epizootic safety, conduct veterinary and preventive measures, as well as familiarize with the implementation of investment projects.During the working trip, the Vice Minister held a meeting at which he focused on the epizootic situation in the region. He noted the weak work on the ground, insufficient control over food and biological safety, as well as inadequate control at the borders.The Vice Minister pointed out the low discipline of veterinary staff – 33 officials were brought to disciplinary responsibility for improper performance of duties. One case of a corruption offense was also identified.The new head of the Turkestan regional Territorial Inspection, Kaldybekov Sundetali, was officially introduced at the meeting. The Vice Minister instructed to strengthen control over food and biological safety, quarantine of exported animals, eliminate identified violations and carry out preventive measures in a timely manner. It was also instructed to take measures to prevent corruption risks in this area.As part of the program, Amangali Berdalin got acquainted with the implementation of five investment projects using Australian technology for keeping farm animals. The cost of projects implemented by Kayyp Ata LLP and credited as part of the replication of the experience of the North Kazakhstan region is 55.2 billion tenge.The first large-scale project is being implemented near the city of Arys and includes the construction of a feedlot complex with an initial capacity of 15 thousand head of cattle with subsequent expansion by 10 thousand heads. Currently, there is a complex for 25 thousand heads, which is planned to be increased to 50 thousand heads. The completion of the first stage is expected in December this year. This will allow the complex to become the largest in Central Asia and strengthen its position in the regional livestock market.The second project is the cultivation of forage crops by sprinkler irrigation on an area of 4,500 hectares. As part of this project, the company acquired the necessary equipment, including modern tractors with attachments, a John Deere sowing complex and the latest German Siloking feed dispensers. However, the late financing allocated by SEC Turkistan creates significant risks for the successful implementation of ongoing projects. Without timely financing, the company may not be in time for the sowing campaign in the spring of 2025, and will not sow forage crops on the allocated lands. And this, in turn, can lead to a shortage of necessary feed, which will undermine the efficiency of the feedlot complex.The third project is a plant under construction in the Sairam district for the production of granular compound feeds with a capacity of 20 tons per hour. Construction has been completed and commissioning is underway.Amangali Berdalin also got acquainted with the progress of the fourth project, the cattle exchange. All the necessary equipment has been purchased, construction and installation works will be started together with the Turkish company AgroFine. The cattle exchange will accommodate up to 4,000 head of cattle, 5,000 head of cattle and 3,000 horses.The fifth project includes the construction of a meat processing plant with a slaughter capacity of 5,000 head of cattle and 1,500 head of cattle per shift. The design and estimate documentation is ready, a land plot has been selected together with the akimat of the region, and all the necessary infrastructure is being supplied for the implementation of the project.At the end of the trip, the Vice Minister positively assessed the work of Kayyp Ata LLP under the leadership of Syrym Yertayev, noting the significant contribution of the enterprise to the development of the livestock industry and the introduction of innovations.
