The international forum at the Medical University of Karaganda brought together scientists from different countries of the world 24.04.2025
Karaganda Medical University has become a platform for the international forum "Research and Innovation" in the field of biomedicine, dedicated to the Day of Science. It brought together scientists from France, China, the Netherlands, as well as leading Kazakhstani universities.— The Forum is not just a conference, but a platform for forming new scientific ties and developing joint projects. As well as the opportunity to compare scientific hours and learn from the best foreign experience," said Ermek Turgunov, Vice Rector for Scientific and Clinical Work at KMU. — We see how biomedicine is developing rapidly, and we try to keep up with the times. Such meetings are an investment in the health of future generations.Karaganda Medical University has been training masters in biomedicine for several years. According to Ermek Turgunov, one of the two collective use laboratories in the country is located here. It is currently being upgraded — by 2026 it is planned to bring the laboratory to the world level.— We look inside the body to understand how processes work, both normal and pathological. Without this, it is impossible to develop effective medicines. It is also important to understand who is doing this in other countries and how. The exchange of experience is key here," says Dmitry Klyuev, Director of the Institute of Life Sciences at Karaganda Medical University. The Forum has become an important event for young scientists. A separate section was dedicated to them. Dmitry Solyanov, a junior researcher at the university, sees a great future in biomedicine. He is currently engaged in research in the field of chromatography and gene editing, as well as developments in the field of prostate and breast cancer.— The prospects of biomedicine primarily lie in the fact that they benefit the whole of humanity. Even if at the moment it seems that our research is very expensive or looks too far into the future, is something from the field of futurism, every research, every development by a young scientist somehow reduces the cost of future technologies. And what seems inaccessible now will be able to improve the lives of thousands of people in a few years," Dmitry Solyanov believes. One of the speakers of the forum, Gregoire Prevost, President of the French CIPREVO Center (Cancer and Innovation), believes that the main goal of the international scientific dialogue is to develop collaboration and exchange best practices in the fight against chronic diseases and oncology. At the conference, he shared the results of a study that was conducted on small cell lung cancer cells and studied the effects of certain drugs.—Whether drugs that can defeat cancer will be created in the near future is a difficult question," says the French biologist. — Today, many scientists around the world are working on cancer treatment, but prevention is of primary importance. The main goal is to prevent the development of the disease. First of all, we are talking about a healthy lifestyle. This approach can significantly reduce the risk of cancer, including breast, prostate, and colon cancer. The conference participants covered a variety of topics related to molecular medicine, from genomics and DNA editing to digital healthcare and targeted therapies.Biomarkers, artificial intelligence, and the prevention of chronic diseases were also discussed during the sessions.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/karaganda/press/news/details/979720?lang=kk

Participants in the speed test must spell out polysyllabic English words. This year, students from grades 7-9 participated in the competition. According to the results of all rounds, Daniyar Mustafin, a student of the 7th grade of the Karaganda Nazarbayev Intellectual School, showed the best results.– Daniyar's very first English teachers were his brothers. Our eldest son graduated from the KTL, the middle one graduated from the IT Lyceum. Daniyar is our youngest, and the brothers often spoke English with him. From the age of 4-5, Daniyar began to show an active interest in the English language. He hadn't prepared much for this competition. I try to keep him competitive. He used to get very upset when he lost, but I always said that the main thing is the participation process itself, and there will definitely be victories," says Daniyar's mother Aynagul Mustafina. As a prize, Daniyar was given a scholarship for a week of study from EF Education First. The course will be held in the UK at the end of July this year.– We were offered a choice of three cities in England. We chose Bournemouth. Daniyar will live there with an English family. Meals, accommodation, and tuition are all covered by the scholarship. Visas and flights are at our expense," says Aynagul Mustafina. – This, of course, is not cheap at all, but the child should take advantage of the fruits of his victory. In the same competition, another Karaganda resident took the prize. A tenth-grader of Nazarbayev Intellectual School, Emir Butimbayev, won a bronze medal.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/karaganda/press/news/details/977311?lang=kk
Instructions were given on issues raised at the Government meeting 18.04.2025
A meeting was convened by the Government today to address concerns regarding fire safety training and measures for flood prevention. Nurlybek Nalibayev, the regional Akim, participated in the meeting virtually. Following the Government's discussions, the regional leader conducted a subsequent meeting where he provided directives to the relevant industry officials concerning the topics that were discussed."According to statistics, 90% of emergency situations in the country occur as a result of fires. Given the dry and windy climate of our region, the risk of the occurrence and rapid spread of steppe fires is extremely high.To prevent steppe fires, constant monitoring and prompt action are necessary. Most forest and steppe fires occur due to non-compliance with fire safety rules by the public and businesses, as well as a lack of responsibility. Local farms must notify forestry agencies in advance before clearing land. Fire prevention measures must be strictly controlled. Due to natural and human factors, there is a high risk of dry grass fires along main and inter-district roads, as well as in crop areas. Strengthening control in forest areas and on agricultural lands is essential. Comprehensive measures to prevent floods are being implemented in the region. Ice drift began on the rivers on February 14, and they were completely cleared in March. The water level in the rivers was managed by diverting water into main canals and lakes. Efficient water use and ensuring safety in flood-prone areas are important. The issues discussed at today's meeting are relevant. They must be kept under strict control and addressed promptly," N. Nalibayev noted. It should be noted that 15 fire trucks, 10 drones, and 65 permanent fire brigades are involved in preventing forest fires. Over the past three years, funds have been allocated to strengthen the material and technical resources of the region's forestry services. This year, plans include the purchase of 62 units of equipment and about 80 tools. A reserve has been prepared for extinguishing forest and steppe fires, and 15 observation towers are on permanent duty. Additionally, 135 responsible organizations equipped with special equipment have been assigned to 29 potentially dangerous flood zones. They have 410 units of special equipment and 1,234 personnel at their disposal. There is a sufficient material and technical reserve to combat floods, including 129.7 tons of fuel, 95,110 bags, and other materials. Evacuation points for the population in case of floods have been prepared, with 61 collection points and 71 reception points for evacuees.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/kyzylorda/press/news/details/977143?lang=kk
