Today, the International scientific and practical Conference "Turar and the idea of Turkestan" is being held in Turkestan, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the statesman and public figure, an outstanding fighter for the unity of the Turkic peoples Turar Ryskulov.The conference was organized by the Akimat of Turkestan region and the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H.A. Yasavi. The event is attended by representatives from Turkey, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, as well as well-known scientists, historians and researchers of Turar Ryskulov's life and work. The guests who arrived at the cultural center of the university first got acquainted with the exhibition and photo chronicle dedicated to the history of the great figure.The conference is moderated by academician and deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kydyrali. Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Malik Otarbayev was the first to speak and conveyed greetings from the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Congratulatory letters from Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev and Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Koshanov were read out. The Supreme Mufti Nauryzbai kazhi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Kazakhstan Bayarhu Dorj, Chairman of the World Association of Kazakhs Zauytbek Turysbekov, Consul General of the Turkish Republic in Turkestan Ilker Pak and Rector of the International Kazakh-Turkish University Zhanar Temirbekova spoke, noting the versatility of Ryskulov's personality.Deputy Akim of Turkestan region Beysenbai Tazhibayev conveyed a welcoming speech to the conference participants from the head of the region Darkhan Satybaldy and stressed the importance of the conference:— We always honor our outstanding sons and respect great personalities. The fact that this important event is taking place in Turkestan is natural, because the outstanding public figure, talented leader Turar Ryskulov raised the idea of Turkestan at the beginning of the 20th century and devoted his life to the unity of the Turkic world. His life path fully corresponds to the words of the great thinker Ahmed Yasawi: "Serve your people, respect the noble, honor people with a pure soul." Turar Ryskulov served his people honestly and became a measure of patriotism and devotion. He was the leader of the national liberation movement of the Turkic peoples, an outstanding public figure, scientist, publicist and diplomat. I believe that today's conference, at which scientists and intellectuals will talk about the political, spiritual and historical heritage of Turar Ryskulov, will become an important basis for continuing the work of the brotherhood, begun by such great personalities more than a hundred years ago," the deputy akim noted.The event will continue with a panel session, where reports on Turar Ryskulov's career path will be presented, emphasizing his personal qualities. During the conference, the guests will also plant a tree in honor of the anniversary. Further events are planned tomorrow in his native Tyulkubassky district.It should be noted that today active work is being carried out to popularize the heritage of Turar Ryskulov. In the Turkestan region, the Tulkubas center and district, three schools and more than 40 streets in various cities and districts are named in his honor.
