10.1 billion tenge Disbursed to Entrepreneurs Affected by Flooding 16.11.2024
In accordance with the Rules for compensating property losses incurred by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as a result of the 2024 flooding, local executive bodies are actively engaged in receiving and reviewing applications from SMEs seeking reimbursement for the damages sustained.To compensate for entrepreneurs' property losses, the Government has allocated 12.1 billion tenge from itsAs of October 1, 2024, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have submitted 764 applications totaling 15 billion tenge. Positive decisions have been made on 630 applications totaling approximately 12 billion tenge, with payments fully disbursed for 615 applications (80.4% of the total number of applications) amounting to over 10.1 billion tenge.Decisions to deny compensation payments have been made for 30 applications. For the remaining affected entities, assessment and estimation work is ongoing. This time, a delegation from Astana, led by the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Madi Takiyev, visited Atyrau Region. The region was chosen deliberately. During the period from 2021 to 2023, a total of 33,000 projects were supported through the subsidization of interest rates for women, while 23,000 projects received credit guarantees.In addition, the institution of social entrepreneurship is undergoing significant development in Kazakhstan. During the Government session, the outcomes of Kazakhstan's socio-economic development for the period from January to September of the current year were comprehensively analyzed.The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy, Nurlan Baibazarov, reported that during the reporting period, the economic growth reached 4%. The positive dynamics in the real sector amounted to 5%, while the services sector recorded a growth of 3.8%.Among the sectors, the most significant growth is exhibited by agriculture and construction. The transportation services sector experienced an increase of 8%, while communications rose by 6.4%, trade by 6.3%, and manufacturing by 4.8%.Growth rate of investments in fixed assets reached 0,6%. Investments increased in communications by 81.7%, education by 79.3%, transportation by 31.1%, manufacturing by 6.3%, and health care by 4.8%.From January to August, the external trade turnover of the republic amounted to $91.7 billion. Exports reached $53.5 billion, including processed goods worth $17.8 billion, while imports totaled $38.1 billion. Overall, Kazakhstan's positive trade balance stands at $15.4 billion.The manufacturing industry maintains a positive growth rate. Production volume increased by 4.8%, with the mining industry experiencing a growth of 1.2%.From January to September of the current year, 12.4 million square meters of housing were commissioned, reflecting a 6.2% increase compared to the same period last year.Agriculture has entered an active growth phase. Due to accelerated harvesting of grain crops, the industry's output has increased by 11.4%. In crop production, growth reached 17.8%According to N. Baibazarov, to ensure economic growth, central and local executive authorities must focus on the following measures:1. Today, the ceremonial opening of the annual national exhibition for the "One Village – One Product" (OVOP) initiative was held at the Kazmedia Center, featuring participation from over 40 producers. At the meeting of the Government, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Nurlan Baibazarov, the progress of implementing the State Decree concerning the liberalization of the Kazakhstan economy was reviewed. The meeting was attended by leaders of central governmental agencies, as well as representatives from the Samruk-Kazyna Fund. Out of the 36 initiatives outlined in the decree, 24 are slated for completion this year. Specifically, the Ministry of National Economy has instituted a moratorium on the establishment of entities within the quasi-state sector, revised the procedure for the composition of the boards of directors of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund, updated its Corporate Governance Code, and imposed a ban on the procurement of state financing from the National Fund on non-market conditions for quasi-state sector entities.The Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition has adopted a new format for the list of permitted activities for entities within the quasi-state sector. This initiative aims to facilitate the effective operation of commodity markets, foster competition, and incentivize businesses to grow and expand.Nurlan Baibazarov underscored the critical importance of strict adherence to all directives set forth in the Presidential Decree during the meeting. "The timely and effective implementation of liberalization measures will fundamentally reduce the share of the state sector in the economy, ensure the protection of free competition, and eliminate barriers to business development," emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister. October 24, 2024, Astana. On the eve of the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a large-scale tree planting campaign continues in the country within the framework of the republican project "Taza Kazakhstan", aimed at improving the environmental situation and greening cities and villages.Today, 1,000 seedlings of various tree species have been planted in the village of Zhibek Zholy, including Siberian apple tree, round-leaved irga and Virgin cherry. Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan: work to identify and eliminate unauthorized landfills 16.11.2024
Since 2018, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the National Company Garysh Sapary, has been working to identify and eliminate unauthorized landfills in the country. This initiative is being implemented in close cooperation with law enforcement agencies and akimats, which is already leading to positive results.Over the past four years, there has been a downward trend in the number of identified unauthorized landfills. Thus, from 2020 to 2024, the number of identified landfills decreased by almost 2 times (2020 - 8884, 2024 - 4897).Of the 4,897 unauthorized landfills identified in 2024, 2,475 (51%) have been eliminated to date.Environmental departments are working to bring officials of local executive bodies to administrative responsibility for insufficient work on the elimination of unauthorized landfills.Thus, for the period from 2022 to 2024, 439 officials, including akims and their deputies, were brought to administrative responsibility for a total amount of 40.3 million tenge. Of which 93 officials in the amount of 5.1 million tenge were involved in 2024, as well as 15 cases are under consideration.To strengthen measures to combat unauthorized landfills, the Ministry has developed Action Plans, within which regular raids are carried out to curb violations.Work is underway to amend the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Administrative Offenses" (CAO). Vice-Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhomart Aliyev told about the Concept of development of ecological culture "Taza Kazakhstan" for 2024-2029 during a briefing in the CCS today.He noted that the foundation of the Concept is the formation of a high level of environmental culture and responsibility, the development of environmental education and practices, as well as the effective implementation of environmental policy. The concept has already been approved by the Government and is under approval.The concept will be implemented in the following main areas, such as:- Environmental thinking and behavior, including incentives and measures to encourage them;- environmental education;- environmental education and information coverage.Appropriate indicators have been identified for each area, which will allow monitoring the effectiveness of the measures taken to implement the Concept and, if necessary, adjust them.In December, local executive bodies will approve regional plans for the implementation of the Concept based on regional characteristics, an integrated approach, taking into account established goals, objectives and indicators.Addressing the participants of the event, J.Aliyev noted: "For the effective implementation of the Concept, it is necessary to raise public awareness, the ultimate goal of which is the formation of a modern ecological mentality of the whole society, and the desire for an ecologically healthy nation."At the conclusion of his report, the Vice Minister quoted words from the Message of the Head of State, where it was said:"One of the main tasks is to improve the environmental situation and cultivate respect for the environment.In other words, it is necessary that concern for the cleanliness of the environment become the daily norm for everyone.
