Last weekend, agricultural fairs were held across the country. Ninety-five venues were organized across all regions of Kazakhstan, where over 1,400 domestic agricultural producers presented their products. The key feature of these fairs is the sale of socially important food products directly from farmers, without intermediaries or markups.Beef was the most popular product among buyers. A total of approximately 170 tons were sold across the country. The capital led the sales volume, with residents purchasing approximately 60 tons of meat at prices ranging from 3,100 to 3,500 tenge per kilogram. In Almaty, 25 tons of beef were sold at prices ranging from 3,100 to 4,000 tenge. Prices were significantly lower in the regions. In the West Kazakhstan region, beef sold for 2,500 to 2,800 tenge per kilogram, in the Kyzylorda and Turkestan regions for 2,500 tenge, in Pavlodar from 2,300 to 2,600 tenge, and in North Kazakhstan from 2,700 to 3,200 tenge per kilogram.Potatoes were also in high demand. Over 400 tons were sold throughout the country. Depending on the region, prices ranged from 100 to 230 tenge per kilogram.Agricultural fairs will continue. About 1,700 fairs are planned for the fourth quarter. They will be held on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as on all public holidays. Participation remains free for domestic producers, and trading spaces are provided free of charge.Agricultural fairs remain an effective tool for supporting farmers and keeping prices down. Residents enjoy attending these events, where they can purchase fresh, high-quality produce directly from producers at affordable prices.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/mti/press/news/details/1085455?lang=kk

A Gift from the Heart: Inmates at a Maximum Security Colony in EKO Surprise Seniors for the International Day of Older Persons 15.10.2025
A Gift from the Heart: Inmates at a Maximum Security Colony in EKO Surprise Seniors for the International Day of Older PersonsSomething has happened in the East Kazakhstan region that has offered a new perspective on the penitentiary system.Ahead of the International Day of Older Persons, celebrated on October 1st, the staff and inmates of Institution No. 18 (a maximum security colony) of the Penal Enforcement System Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan decided to make a truly necessary and touching gift. This time, the location for the benevolent initiative was the Ust-Kamenogorsk Center for the Provision of Special Social Services (a boarding house for the elderly, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities) in the Solnechny village.Instead of the traditional treats and concerts, the colony's administration, with the support of local individual entrepreneurs, manufactured and delivered essential items from the Shemonaikha district that are vital for comfortable living: litter bins to help maintain cleanliness on the grounds, new, durable benches for outdoor rest, and, what caused particular delight, canes made with incredible care and attention to detail. The canes were the highlight of the initiative. The inmates, demonstrating skill and humanity, created items that looked more like individual, custom orders than mass-produced goods."The grandmothers and grandfathers especially liked the canes," said Laura Aldazhumanova, an employee of Institution No. 18 of the Penal Enforcement Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. "They are thoughtfully made of wood with a comfortable, ergonomic handle. And most importantly—we took care of safety: the base is rubberized to prevent slipping. They turned out very light and convenient."This campaign is a striking example of how institutions of the Penal Enforcement Committee are not only engaged in rehabilitation but also contribute to the social life of the region. The inmates who took part in creating the gifts were able to feel like they were a part of a useful and kind deed, and the elderly received not just inventory, but items made with heart and respect.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/duis-vko/press/news/details/1085091?lang=kk
