Of these, 3.3 billion cubic meters were received during the flood. The Caspian Sea has received 17 billion cubic meters of water since the beginning of the year. For the first time in 10 years, the Kapchagai reservoir in the Almaty region has filled to 100%, collecting more than 18 billion cubic meters of water.During the flood, 80 million cubic meters of water were sent to the Kamysh-Samara lakes of the West Kazakhstan region. 839 million cubic meters of water were sent from the Ulytau region to the Kyzylorda region. Physical culture and sports are actively developing in the region. According to statistics, 43% of the region's population is systematically involved in sports. During the year, more than 3,000 mass sporting events were held, attracting more than 200,000 participants.The total number of sports facilities in the region has reached 1,704. During a staff meeting chaired by Akim of Aktobe region Askhat Shakharov, the issue of winter maintenance of roads was considered.Aibol Danagul, director of the Aktobe regional branch of JSC NC KazAvtoZhol, said that the length of highways of national importance is 1,869 km, of which 117 km are undergoing reconstruction. Blue Midas Stroy and Assana-DorStroy LLP are responsible for winter maintenance of the Aktobe-Astrakhan and Samara-Shymkent roads. A total of 31 units of special equipment from these companies have been involved in clearing snow from these roads. They also harvested 1,700 tons of sand and 300 tons of deicing materials. In addition, 115 units of leased equipment have been involved in the harvesting operations and tender procedures are underway to lease 34 more special vehicles.There are 15 heating points along the roads, equipped with 51 beds.There are 246 kilometers of snow-covered sections on roads of national importance in the region. Reinforced concrete fences with a length of 86 kilometers have been installed on these sites. Temporary wooden shields will be placed on the remaining sections and snow removal works will be carried out."Given the high traffic intensity on the Aktobe-Khromtau-Karabutak section, 34 km of bypass roads are being prepared in the villages of Khromtau and Karabutak to prevent traffic jams in winter. A 23-km-long bypass road with three exits to the highway is provided on the 844-863 km section of the Samara-Shymkent highway. A bypass road has been built in the Aitekebi district on sections 963-966 km and 983-985 km of the highway with a total length of 11 km with four exits," Aibol Danagul said.In turn, the head of the Department of Passenger Transport and Highways, Aybek Kayer, reported on the winter maintenance of local roads. 43 contractors are responsible for this work.The length of local highways in the region is 4.4 thousand km, they are divided into 174 sections. Of these, 13 sites are of regional significance, and 161 are of regional significance.401 vehicles are involved in the cleaning of these roads, 5.4 thousand tons of inert materials and 2.8 thousand tons of diesel fuel have been harvested.According to the head, road cleaning and sprinkling with sand-salt mixture is carried out regularly. Together with our Chinese partners, we were able to explore best practices and solutions that will help improve the effectiveness of the threat prevention and response system, ensuring the safety of our citizens. The Ministry of Emergency Situations continues to actively prepare the country's regions for the flood season of 2025. As part of comprehensive measures, a variety of flood control measures are being implemented to protect the population and infrastructure from threats associated with spring river flooding. In order to prevent possible consequences of floods, local executive authorities, together with Emergency Departments, are carrying out work on the construction and strengthening of protective dams and ramparts, the creation of drainage channels and ditches, as well as the construction of new storm systems and culverts. All these measures are aimed at creating reliable flood protection infrastructure.Atyrau region: a set of measures to reduce flood risks In Atyrau region, emergency situations, together with local authorities, are carrying out a set of measures aimed at reducing the risk of emergencies during the spring flood. "Based on the experience of the current spring flood, we have identified the areas most susceptible to flooding. Protective dams and ramparts are being built, protective structures are being repaired, as well as works on shore reinforcement and dredging of rivers. Construction of new access pipes on highways and reconstruction of the automobile bridge is underway. Supplies of fuel, lubricants and inert materials, as well as bags, have already been prepared locally. We have also identified temporary accommodation facilities for the victims," said Nurlan Zhanabayev, head of the Atyrau region Emergency Department.Kyzylorda region: strengthening dams and monitoring the situation In the Kyzylorda region, special attention is paid to the safety of floodwater passage through the Syrdarya River. The readiness of civil protection services and formations for possible emergencies has been checked in the region. The water level in the river is constantly monitored. Work is underway to strengthen the dam on the riverbank in the city of Kyzylorda. Currently, work has been carried out on the reconstruction of the dam along Tauelsizdik Avenue, on an area of 1080 meters. 388 gabion grids have been installed, and the project will be completed in 2025.Turkestan region: improvement of reservoirs and protective structures In the Turkestan region, in order to minimize the threat of flooding in the upcoming flood period, a set of preventive measures is being carried out in accordance with the engineering work plan. Major repairs of the Kapshagai reservoirs in Baydibek district and Karaspan in Ordabasi district, as well as the Yrmak-Uzen and Maidantal reservoirs in Sauran district have already been completed. The stability of these facilities contributes to the safe regulation of flood waters. Flood control works were also successfully carried out in Tulkubassky, Tolebiysky, Saryagashsky, Sayramsky, Kelessky and Ordabasinsky districts. All work on preparing the regions for the flood period of 2025 is under special control. The Ministry of Emergency Situations, together with other interested government agencies, will continue to implement preventive measures aimed at reducing flood risks and ensure that all services are ready for possible emergencies.
