Interim tests of an innovative type of road barrier, i.e. cable barriers, have been successfully completed on one of the sections of the Astana-Karaganda (KAZ01) highway of republican significance in the Karaganda region with a high risk of snow accumulation. The tests were conducted on a 500-meter-long experimental section near the city of Temirtau. The cable equipment was installed along the road in the direction of Karaganda, specifically on the belt separating the lanes and on the right side of the road. As a result of the tests, this device showed high efficiency in adverse weather conditions (during a blizzard).Cable barriers have significant advantages over traditional metal barriers. They are especially effective in conditions of heavy snow and strong winds. They allow snow to pass freely through the cables. This prevents it from accumulating on the dividing strips and edges of the road. Such barriers also help reduce the cost of mechanical cleaning of roads. The mentioned types of fences are actively used in the USA, Japan and Europe due to their economic efficiency.The project is being implemented under the scientific and technical guidance of specialists from the Kazzhol Research Institute. They will conduct a two-year monitoring of the effectiveness of cable fences in various weather and operating conditions. If the experience gives positive results, cable fences can become an alternative to traditional metal barriers in areas with a high risk of snowfall. The cooperation between the Allur Automobile Plant and the Kostanay Automobile Transport College covers several areas. The Allur Automobile Plant, which took over the patronage of this college 4 years ago, is involved in improving the quality of specialist training and ensuring their employment. Today, the college has 1,400 students studying in 13 specialties. Over the past five years, college students have consistently won the WorldSkills National Championship in automotive and IT competencies. Students participated in WorldSkills in Abu Dhabi, Euroskills in Budapest, WorldSkills in Kazan, as well as international championships in South Korea. In September 2023, two graduates of the college became bronze medalists of the EuroSkills Gdańsk-2023 championship, and in 2024 Daniyar Abikenov was awarded a medal for professional skills at the world stage of the WorldSkills championship in Lyon. In addition, each teacher of the college undergoes an internship at the plant, which allows to improve the quality of teaching and students to gain knowledge and experience that meets the modern requirements of the industry. Paid internships were organized for students at the production sites of the automobile plant. As part of the cooperation, several educational programs have been created aimed at training specialists in modern technologies of automobile production and service. These programs are designed taking into account market requirements, which increases the competitiveness of students in the labor market. As a result, college graduates receive job offers before the end of their studies.
