How the JOLTAP project helped a resident of the capital turn his favorite hobby into a successful profession 21.02.2025
The JOLTAP project being implemented in Astana is particularly helpful for residents of the capital to master new specialties, improve their knowledge, and increase their income. Project graduate Akbayan Bolat told how JOLTAP helped him turn his hobby into a stable income, the official website of the city administration reports. Akbayan has worked in his specialty for more than 10 years. But after three maternity leaves and a long break, she could not return to the profession. Over the years - more than 12 years - she was engaged in sewing, gradually turning her hobby into a professional activity.“I was engaged in sewing as a hobby and received small orders in between. Over time, I realized that I wanted to develop in this field, so I decided to master the profession of a seamstress and fashion designer,” says Akbayan. She learned about the JOLTAP project from a neighbor who was studying SMM. After that, Akbayan went to the “Opportunity for All” modular point and signed up for sewing and clothing design courses.“I had previously attended online master classes. It has been proven that live training is more useful. It is important to ask questions to teachers, and they, in turn, will do everything to ensure that we master the material as well as possible,” says the resident of Astana.Akbayan noted the high professionalism of the teachers and the convenient format of training.“Even after the courses ended, the teachers did not stop helping us. In the lessons, we received the necessary, specific knowledge. The two-hour lesson flew by in an instant, and the two-week training turned out to be incredibly intense. I did not miss a single lesson, otherwise it would have been difficult to master all the material. I was completely focused on studying,” she recalled. After graduating, Akbayan began to actively work in the garment industry, accepting increasingly large orders. Now she designs various dresses and accepts orders from home. Recently, she completely updated her necessary equipment: she replaced household machines with industrial ones, which allowed her to fulfill wholesale orders. Now she plans to open her own studio.“The courses gave me a strong impetus. In just 15 days, I received knowledge that fundamentally changed my future. I believe that this project will develop not only in Astana, but throughout Kazakhstan,” said Akbayan.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/astana/press/news/details/939505
