In Almaty, the MIA Cybercrime Countermeasures Department detained a citizen of a neighboring country in a rented apartment.- During the inspection of the premises, operatives found three sim-box devices. Each of them had 32 sim-card slots. About two thousand sim-cards of various mobile operators were also confiscated. Fraudulent calls were made to Kazakhstanis using the devices.It was revealed that the foreign citizen arrived in our country in December last year and was engaged in servicing the said equipment in order to commit fraudulent acts.A criminal case has been initiated.
