Applications for participation in the competition for the best New Year's decoration among small and medium-sized businesses were submitted by more than 60 business representatives, including food and non-food stores, catering and services.Recall that the competition was organized on New Year's Eve by the Department of Entrepreneurship and Investment of the city of Almaty, the acceptance of applications lasted from December 26, 2024 to January 13, 2025.The competition committee included the heads of the Almaty City Entrepreneurship and Investment Department, members of the Public Council, the Association of the Kazakhstan Restaurateurs Club and the NGO "Independent Trade Union for the Protection of SMEs".The following participants were recognized as winners in four nominations:• "The best design of a grocery store" - "Turkish Delight Lotte" (certificate in the amount of 1 million tenge).• "The best design of a non-food store" - biobutyk "Telly" (certificate in the amount of 1 million tenge).• "The best design of an object in the field of catering" - Aurora cafe (certificate in the amount of 1 million tenge);• "The best design of an object in the service sector" - Busy Bee beauty territory (certificate in the amount of 1 million tenge).The winner of the Grand Prix of the competition was the ABR restaurant chain (certificate in the amount of 2 million tenge).The prize fund is formed due to sponsorship."The competition showed high activity and interest among the entrepreneurs of our city. The unique Next Generation Leaders Olympiad, organized by the city Career center to support young professionals, starts in Almaty. This project is aimed at creating a talent pool and reducing youth unemployment.The Olympiad includes three stages: online testing, a case championship, and a personal interview with a practical assignment. Young professionals learn how to write resumes, conduct a dialogue with employers, and demonstrate their professional skills.According to the head of the Department for work with employers at the City Career Center, Akarys Terebekov, the project has already covered 15 universities in the city, and it is expected that more than 70% of participants will be able to find a job after completing all stages."The Next Generation Leaders Olympiad is not just a competition, but a full-fledged platform for unlocking the potential of young people.
