In Almaty, for the first time in Kazakhstan, video analytics and artificial intelligence were used for the safety of citizens 22.11.2024
Almaty successfully uses video from surveillance cameras in real time using artificial intelligence. Thus, in 2023, the Akimat of Almaty for the first time in Kazakhstan introduced a comprehensive security system in public educational and preschool institutions.Adopting the successful experience of Almaty, this technology has been used in other regions of the country. The project of a Unified video monitoring system was launched back in 2022 and today the system unites 45 thousand city cameras. By the end of next year, their number will grow to 70 thousand. Thanks to this system, dozens of people suspected of committing serious crimes, as well as those who are wanted, have been found and detained over the past year. The system is integrated with law enforcement databases containing more than 13 thousand records of wanted persons."The system instantly notifies the situation center and police departments when a wanted person is found, sending the exact coordinates. This significantly reduces the response time and increases the efficiency of the police," the Almaty Digitalization Department said.Artificial intelligence algorithms also allow you to: detect clusters of people and analyze their behavior, identify fights, suspicious objects, recognize images of weapons in public places, search for people /vehicles by image or photo, fix traffic violations, recognize fire and smoke.Without stopping there, new types of video analytics are being tested and implemented in the city, which improve the work of local services: identifying places where garbage accumulates, overflowing bins and containers, detecting stray animals, studying video streams in public transport, audio analytics for recording loud sounds.Today, the Integrated Security System project covers more than 400 public schools and kindergartens, all of them are equipped with digital video surveillance cameras, video intercoms, turnstiles with face recognition function, alarm buttons and fire alarm sensors connected to city emergency response services. Now there is an active connection to the video camera system of private educational institutions. By the end of this year, it is planned to introduce a similar security system in all public medical institutions.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/almaty/press/news/details/888648
A new public space on the Sairan embankment in Almaty will open in 2025 22.11.2024
During a working detour, Mayor of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev got acquainted with the progress of work on the improvement of the embankment of the Sairan reservoir, where, along with beach areas, a modern public space will be created. The head of the city was informed that by the end of this year all construction and installation works will be completed on time. However, on the recommendation of specialists, landscaping measures for planting green spaces should be carried out in a more favorable spring period. Accordingly, in order to ensure maximum survival, the planting of 200 large-sized lime trees will be carried out in the spring of next year.To date, the work has been completed by 70% - the installation of an automatic irrigation system, water supply, power supply cables is being completed, outdoor lighting is being carried out, shore reinforcement and the construction of the embankment.Recall that the implementation of the project began in February 2024. According to the project, two shores of Lake. Sairan will be connected into a single 2.5 km long promenade near the water, walking routes will also be available - 3.5 km through the existing bridge and 4.5 km route with access to Abai Avenue. A green array will be planted on the side of Tole bi Street, which will give it completeness.According to the landscaping project, a pergola near a pond with lotuses, benches, urns, and food courts will appear on the territory of the reservoir. A skate park with a rollerdrome, exercise equipment, a parkour playground, a bike park, a football field and a children's playground will be built for active leisure. The territory also provides for the installation of public toilets and a fenced dog walking area. Surveillance cameras will be installed around the perimeter of the entire territory. To ensure round-the-clock security on the embankment, 2 police stations and 2 rescue posts will be built. Thus, the illuminated, refined and cozy space will once again become the center of attraction in Almaty, which will transform not only the surrounding areas, but also improve the urban environment as a whole. "In recent years, Sairan has been perceived as an abandoned place that does not arouse interest. Our goal is to change this stereotype. A civilized holiday should be organized here: children's and family areas, active pastime and sports areas, beach areas with comfortable sun beds, illuminated paths, well-groomed embankments, modern cafes... An important priority is the restoration of the lost ecosystem, flora and fauna. Ponds, reservoirs and green parks are becoming places of attraction all over the world. And within the framework of the polycentric development of the city, Sayran should become one of those places where both residents of the central districts and foreign tourists will willingly come," Yerbolat Dosayev noted. Following the results of the working detour, the Head of the city instructed the contractor to complete all work on time in compliance with all construction, engineering, technical and sanitary standards. It should be noted that the work on the capital improvement of the embankment has not been carried out for decades. The Sairan reservoir was put into operation in 1971, in 1988-1989 asphalt paths and lighting were only installed on the embankment. In 2023, the bottom of the Sairan reservoir was cleared for the first time in 50 years. As a result of mechanical cleaning, 142 thousand cubic meters of sludge and 23 tons of household garbage were removed. Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/almaty/press/news/details/888652
