Next international air route opens 04.03.2025

Film project competition begins on March 5 04.03.2025
A competition for representatives of the domestic film industry will begin on March 5. Within the framework of the competition, financial support will be provided to film projects that are candidates for recognition as national films.The goal of the competition is to create films that reflect the traditional values of the people, meet national interests, ideology, and raise topical issues.Previously, the Center announced priority themes on January 5. Mentors of orphans will undergo psychological training 04.03.2025
In February of this year, a law was signed that requires the training of mentors for orphans and children left without parental care. Training is provided by mentoring organizations at their own expense. In 2024, a mentoring institute was introduced in Kazakhstan, aimed at supporting orphans and children left without parental care. This mechanism will allow preparing students of educational organizations for independent living from the age of 10.«Training mentors is an important step in providing quality support and assistance to children left without parental care. "We are confident that this event will allow us to create an effective system of mentoring that will contribute to the socialization of children and prepare them for independent living," noted Nasymzhan Ospanova, Chairperson of the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The dynamics of growth in prices for AMAT goods slows down 04.03.2025
The Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with relevant state bodies and akimats, discussed measures to stabilize prices for socially significant food products. During the meeting, First Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aizhan Bizhanova noted that the dynamics of the growth of prices for food products has begun to slow down.According to the National Bureau of Statistics, as of February 18 of this year, the price index for food products increased by 2.6%, and by 0.4% in the last week, while 2 weeks ago this figure was 0.6%.During the week, a decrease in prices was observed for corn (-0.2%), chicken (-0.1%), rice (-0.4%), potatoes (-0.4%), eggs (-0.5%) and carrots (-0.7%). Prices for bread and milk are stable. Low rates of price growth were recorded in Almaty, Akmola, East Kazakhstan and West Kazakhstan regions.Regional akimats are actively working to organize agricultural fairs. These measures will help reduce prices and provide the population with affordable food products. The First Deputy Minister noted the need to strengthen these measures before the start of the new harvest.During the meeting, joint decisions were made to organize regular fairs in places convenient for the population, involving agricultural producers without intermediaries, as well as to organize the purchase of sunflower oil from the funds of the Food Corporation Joint-Stock Company at affordable prices. In addition, algorithms for effective interaction with meat producers and cattle slaughterhouses in the regions and further sale of product volumes at trade facilities were discussed. The Turkestan region expressed its readiness to form a list of cabbage producers to organize the purchase of early-ripening cabbage under contracts.The issues of compliance with tax legislation among trade entities were also discussed.It should be noted that from mid-March, a fine will be imposed instead of a warning for exceeding the trade mark-up for socially significant food products. Kazakhstan Begins Assessment of Government Spending and Financial Accountability, taking into Account the Climate Dimension 03.03.2025
The Republic of Kazakhstan has commenced a Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability (PEFA) assessment, and its climate dimension (PEFA Climate).The goal is to enhance financial transparency, improve the efficiency of public financial management, and increase the country's overall investment attractiveness.The PEFA assessment will provide the Government with an evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the national public financial management system and lay the groundwork for further reforms.The assessment is being conducted with the support of the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.Adrian Fozzard, World Bank Institutions Practice Manager for Europe and Central Asia region, and Chekdem Akim, Director of the Public Sector Management Division of the Asian Development Bank, emphasized at the opening event the importance of the PEFA assessment. They noted the assessment demonstrates the effectiveness of the public finances management in the country and provides crucial information for international rating agencies and investors.The modern methodology includes a climate assessment (PEFA Climate), which analyzes how public finances support a "green" economy and help the country adapt to climate change. The partners also highlighted the importance of implementing the assessment's recommendations going forward.PEFA evaluates the entire public financial management system, including budgeting, expenditures, and auditing. Specifically, the assessment covers aspects such as financial reporting transparency, expenditure and revenue forecasting and planning, fiscal strategy, external control and audit, and climate expenditure assessment.Given its key role in managing the public financial system, the Ministry of Finance is coordinating the PEFA assessment process.During the kick-off seminar, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dauren Temirbekov, stated: "In today’s world, investments come where there is the trust. Trust in economic policy, government institutions, and financial management. That is why the PEFA assessment plays a key role."The assessment will also involve the Supreme Audit Chamber, the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Bureau of National Statistics, and the Ministries of National Economy, Science and Higher Education, Education, Health, Agriculture, Water Resources and Irrigation, Ecology and Natural Resources, and Labor and Social Protection of the Population.This year, the PEFA assessment will cover the period from 2022 to 2024. Заместитель Премьер-министра – министр национальной экономики Серик Жумангарин провел заседание штаба по обеспечению экономического роста, посвященное потенциалу нефтегазовой отрасли в текущем году и инвестиционно-экономическому развитию Мангистауской области.При реальном росте ВВП в 2024 году в размере 4,8% таргет на 2025 – 7%. Это очень высокий, но достижимый при своевременной реализации инвестиционных проектов реального сектора экономики показатель. Как озвучил вице-министр энергетики Ерлан Аккенженов, нефтепереработка по итогам января составила 1,53 млн тонн, или 104% в сравнении с январем прошлого года. Этот показатель опережает и план на первый месяц 2025 года на 0,6%.В целом доля нефтепереработки в структуре ВВП Казахстана составляет менее 1% (за 2023 год – 0,8%, за 9 месяцев 2024 г. – 0,6%). В то же время сфера нефтепереработки – это производство продуктов с высокой добавленной стоимостью. Отмечено, что после завершения реализации проекта расширения ТОО СП «CaspiBitum», которое ожидается в конце мая 2025 года, его мощность переработки увеличится с 1 млн тонн до 1,5 млн тонн. Итого совокупный объем перерабатывающих мощностей в 2026 году вырастет с 18 млн до 18,5 млн тонн в Казахстане.Вице-премьер выслушал проблемные вопросы с загрузкой крупных перерабатывающих заводов и мини НПЗ.«При отсутствии каких-либо серьезных внешних факторов у нефперерабатывающей отрасли есть хорошие шансы увеличить свою долю вклада в ВВП Казахстана в этом году», — отметил Серик Жумангарин.Отдельно были рассмотрены составляющие индекса таргетируемого физического роста Мангистауской области. При задаче роста на этот год в 7% по итогам января отмечается низкое выполнение показателей по сельскому и рыбному хозяйству (87,5% при плане в 101%) и торговле (102% вместо целевых 105,4%). Вице-премьер поручил обеспечить выполнение поставленных планов в ближайшие месяцы. С учетом весомой доли торговли в ВВП страны (19% в 2024 г.) одно из ближайших заседаний штаба будет посвящено торговле и транспорту со складированием.Также на заседании штаба рассмотрели и разобрали причины низкого освоения средств на бюджетно-инвестиционные проекты региона. Rabat, February 28, 2025 – Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu arrived in Rabat with the first official visit in the history of bilateral relations at the invitation of Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco.During the talks, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral interaction, including the intensification of political dialogue, strengthening trade, economic and investment ties, as well as expanding contacts in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.Significant potential for deepening partnership in sectors such as energy, transportation, agriculture, digital technologies, innovations, education, and tourism was noted. In this regard, the sides expressed their readiness to further improve the legal framework and continue the practice of exchange visits at various levels.“Kazakhstan sees Morocco as an important and close partner in the Middle East and North Africa region. For more than 30 years of diplomatic relations, we have managed to build meaningful political dialogue based on common values, as well as establish constructive inter-parliamentary cooperation,” – stated the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.In turn, Minister Bourita emphasized the leading role of Kazakhstan in the Central Asian region and assured of his country's firm intention to qualitatively strengthen multifaceted interaction on a wide range of issues. The Moroccan minister noted that he considers Morocco and Kazakhstan as gateways to North Africa and Central Asia, respectively.The interlocutors emphasized the significant growth of trade turnover between the two countries, which last year increased by 70% and reached 274 million US dollars. In this case, the Kazakh Foreign Minister noted that Kazakhstan has good opportunities to increase the supply of products with high added value in Morocco. This includes expanding exports of 25 key commodity items worth 130 million US dollars, comprising finished petrochemical products, metallurgical products, and food products.Minister Nurtleu also noted that the Agreement on a visa-free regime will come into force soon, making Morocco the first country in Africa with which a bilateral visa-free regime is established. This will create new opportunities for the development of business ties and expansion of contacts between citizens.Special attention was paid to the issues of food security. The head of the Kazakh delegation expressed gratitude to Morocco for its interest in the activities of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) and stressed the importance of early ratification of its Charter and invited to participate at a high level in the 7th General Assembly of the IOFS, which will be held this year in Astana.The parties also discussed the upcoming Astana International Forum, which will be held in May, which will unite the efforts of the world community in addressing current challenges.
