Twelve cultural facilities are under construction in the Atyrau Region 30.06.2026
New cultural centers are being built in the villages of Koptogai, Birlik, and Azgyr in the Kurmangazy District; Karabau, Miyaly, Zhangeldin, and Mukyr in the Kyzylkoga District; Zhana Karaton, Akkiiztogai, and Koshagyl in the Zhylyoi District; and in the village of Naryn in the Isatay District, according to the Regional Communications Service.In recent years, the region has placed particular emphasis on developing the cultural sector. Since 2023, 14 new cultural facilities have been commissioned, and 54 institutions have undergone major and ongoing renovations.Major projects in the region include the construction of a 1,200-seat concert hall and a new museum in Atyrau. Regional Akim Murat Ergeshbayev visited several construction sites of social and infrastructure facilities in the city of Kyzylorda and familiarized himself with the progress of work there.First, he went to the polyclinic under construction on the left bank, for which 14 billion 780 million tenge has been allocated, designed to receive 500 visitors per day. The multidisciplinary medical institution consists of a 50-bed day hospital, outpatient and diagnostic departments, as well as premises intended for providing comprehensive medical services to residents. Joy for children: A Botanical garden has opened in Kyzylorda 30.06.2026

Here you can find the fan palm, Canary Island date palm, cacti and aloe, Washingtonia palm, strelitzia, jacaranda, giant yucca, kapok tree, bamboo, ornamental plants, and fishtail palm. When these plants bloom, they emit fragrance and are colored in various shades: pinkish-yellow, blue, purple.To create favorable conditions for the plants, the complex is equipped with modern engineering systems for automatic climate control, irrigation, and water treatment.The Botanical Garden is not only a place where unique plant species grow but also a location that will become a center of attraction for residents and guests of the region, serving the development of ecological culture, education, and domestic tourism.All conditions have been created here to broaden the horizons of students, schoolchildren, and nature lovers. The special atmosphere of the Botanical Garden gives visitors a sense of coziness. The modern Almaly rehabilitation center opened in Atyrau 30.06.2026
On June 1, the grand opening of the modern Almaly rehabilitation center for people with disabilities took place in Atyrau. This socially significant facility was commissioned as part of the implementation of the instructions of the Head of State, announced at the 4th meeting of the National Kuryltai.The opening ceremony was attended by Akim of Atyrau Region Serik Shapkenov, government representatives, veterans, and residents of the region.Construction of the new three-story center, with a total area of 22,000 square meters, began in 2023. The facility is designed to accommodate 150 people at a time, including children and adults. The opening of the center will significantly increase the volume of services provided: while previously approximately 1,100 people with special needs received rehabilitation care annually, now up to 2,300 patients will be able to receive comprehensive rehabilitation. Speaking at the ceremony, the regional governor noted that developing social infrastructure and supporting people with special needs remain among the priority areas of state policy."This center will provide comprehensive support to people with disabilities. The opening of such a socially significant facility is an important and joyful event for our region. This is another significant step towards creating an inclusive society in which everyone has equal opportunities. They are equipped with ABA therapy rooms, mechanotherapy rooms, sensory integration spaces, and occupational and art therapy workshops aimed at developing everyday and social skills.Modern rehabilitation facilities have been created for adult service recipients, including those with Groups I and II disabilities. The center features physiotherapy rooms and a remedial gym with modern exercise equipment, a swimming pool, and a hydrotherapy complex.As noted by Anar Kayupova, Director of the Almaly Center for Social Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, the facility's activities are organized into six main areas: social and everyday life, medical, psychological, pedagogical, social and occupational, and cultural."The center is equipped with modern equipment for comprehensive rehabilitation. An individualized recovery and social adaptation program is developed for each service recipient. To ensure high-quality services, 189 specialists work here, including doctors, nurses, psychologists, speech therapists, special education teachers, and other specialized staff," Kayupova said.Today, more than 27,000 people with disabilities live in the Atyrau region. Active tourism development efforts continue in the Atyrau region, with a particular focus on promoting the region's natural and cultural attractions.This was announced at a briefing at the Regional Communications Service by Alima Ramazanova, Head of the Tourism Development Department of the Department of Physical Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Atyrau Region, and Kaisar Makhsutov, Director of the VisitAtyrau Tourist Information Center.Currently, 272 tourist attractions operate in the region, including roadside services, hotels, tour operators, and ethno-villages.This year, the VisitAtyrau Tourist Information Center participated in the KITF Almaty international exhibition, where it showcased Atyrau's tourism resources. Furthermore, over 130 tourists took part in an expedition along the Akkeregeshin-Imankara route. In addition, the region is hosting seminars for entrepreneurs on agritourism development, and rural tourism projects are being implemented. As part of the "Coffee with the Taste of Travel" initiative, coffee shops in the city now offer special cups featuring images of regional landmarks and QR codes with information about them.Last year, more than 187,000 tourists visited the Atyrau region. This is a 19.6% increase compared to the 2024 target. Of these, 166,000 were domestic tourists and 21,000 were international visitors. Furthermore, in the first four months of this year, investment in tourism amounted to 15.6 billion tenge, double the amount compared to the same period last year.Preparations for the summer tourist season were also discussed during the briefing. Seven beaches are planned to open in Atyrau this year – in the Balykshy, Geolog, and Zhilgorodok microdistricts, as well as in rural districts. Work is currently underway at these sites to improve the beaches, install lighting, and prepare sanitary and safety infrastructure. The opening is scheduled for July 1.Work is also ongoing on reconstructing roads to the region's tourist attractions, particularly the Akmeshit necropolis and the Akkeregeshin chalk mountain. Construction of the 1,500-seat multifunctional sports complex, Atyrau Arena, has begun in the Atyrau region. Construction work is being carried out by Alem Kurylys LLP. Modern training halls equipped in accordance with international standards will be provided for each discipline. Upon completion, approximately 2,000 children and teenagers will be able to participate in sports on a regular basis.According to project manager Nursultan Zhylanbas, approximately 400 workers and 20 pieces of equipment will be involved in the construction."Construction is scheduled for completion in November 2027. The complex will offer sports facilities for football, volleyball, basketball, swimming, table tennis, archery, boxing, taekwondo, judo, freestyle, Greco-Roman, and women's wrestling, fencing, triathlon, and other sports. It will also feature a climbing wall—one of only three such facilities in the country. Furthermore, the project includes a 5,000-square-meter multi-purpose sports hall, which will be able to host international competitions," Nursultan Zhylanbas said.The complex is also planned to host training camps, national and international competitions, and mass sporting and cultural events. Occupational injuries in Atyrau have decreased by 20% 30.06.2026
Chaired by Akim of Atyrau Region Serik Shapkenov, issues related to ensuring safe working conditions and industrial safety were discussed.The meeting was attended by deputy akims, department heads, and representatives of the State Labor Inspectorate.During the meeting, special attention was paid to occupational injuries. Head of the region emphasized that ensuring worker safety should remain a key priority for every employer.According to Igilik Aubakirov, head of the State Labor Inspectorate for Atyrau Region, 24 industrial accidents were recorded in the region in the first four months of 2026. This figure represents a 20% decrease compared to the same period last year.Twenty-five workers were injured in the accidents. The main causes of the incidents remain inadequate organization of safe working conditions by employers and workers' failure to comply with safety requirements. Special commissions have been established and investigations conducted for each incident. Since the beginning of the year, 33 companies have been held administratively liable for violating occupational health and safety legislation.
