Kazakhstan has won its first gold medal at the XXXII World Winter Universiade in Turin today. Our compatriot Anastasia Gorodko, a 3rd-year student of the Kazakh Academy of Sports and Tourism, won the freestyle mogul competition with a score of 79.79 points and brought Kazakhstan the first gold medal. Japanese Harko Nakao took the second place (76.29 points), while German Hannah Wiese rounded out the top three (75.04 points). On January 14, Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Sharlapayev arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to participate in the Future Minerals Forum.The Future Minerals Forum (FMF) is one of the leading platforms for discussing the future of the mineral industry. The platform serves as a place to establish global industry connections, bringing together governments, international organizations, and stakeholders.The Minister spoke at the annual Ministerial round table. The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia Madiyar Menilbekov.During his speech, Kanat Sharlapayev noted that the country strives to make a significant contribution to the sustainability of the global supply chain of essential minerals."Thanks to our diversified base of mineral resources, reliable material infrastructure, skilled labor, and a gradually developing medium–sized business industry, our country is well positioned to play an important role in the global supply chain," he stressed.Kazakhstan produces 17 of the most important minerals from the US list and 19 from the European Union list. "Affordable housing is not a dream, but a reality that we must create for our citizens," Kassym-Jomart TokayevAccording to the instructions of the Head of State, 18.96 million square meters of housing were built in Kazakhstan in 2024, which is a record figure in housing construction for all the years of the country's independence.Thus, by the end of 2024, 172,089 dwellings were commissioned, of which 39,064 were individual residential buildings. Shymkent, Pavlodar, Turkestan and Kyzylorda regions became the leaders among the regions in terms of construction rates.The year 2024 was a turning point for Kazakhstan's housing policy. In November, the Head of State signed a law on the reform of housing legislation, which will improve the mechanisms of state support for citizens to improve their living conditions. Otbasy Bank will be transformed into a full-fledged development institution that will be engaged in the registration and distribution of housing among needy citizens on a one-stop-shop basis. The reform was carried out in order to increase the transparency of the housing allocation process for waiting lists.Also, within the framework of this law, about 71 thousand citizens living in public housing on a rental basis were given the opportunity to privatize their apartments. The majority of rental housing owners are socially vulnerable segments of the population, WWII veterans, people with disabilities, large families, orphaned children and others.Akimats have bought more than 20 thousand apartments for needy citizens from socially vulnerable categories, and about 13 thousand families have already become owners of their own housing for the first time.In addition, 2.6 billion tenge has been allocated for 2,300 citizens in the form of housing certificates to cover the initial mortgage payment, housing payments have been assigned to 10.4 thousand citizens, housing payments have been allocated to subsidize part of the rent for renting out housing.Within the framework of the Nauryz and Otau state programs, about 10,000 families improved their living conditions in 2024. The state has allocated 1 trillion tenge to support 64,000 families. Inspector of the patrol police battalion of the Almaty region police department Shalkhar Baizhomartov, who died in the line of duty, was awarded the order of the III degree "aybin". TOLEBIAN POLICE OFFICERS RESCUED AN UNDERAGE GIRL 15.01.2025
On the border of Tolebiysky district and Shymkent city, while on duty to ensure public order, police officers received a message from a local resident that a minor girl had fainted on the street. He asked for help to take her to the city hospital for first aid.Police officers – senior police Lieutenant Asylbek Myrzakhmetov, police captains Abzal Rakhmatullayev and Madiyar Sengirbayev – promptly began rescuing the girl.
