VERTICAL DRAINAGE CHANNELS ARE BEING UPDATED IN TURKESTAN REGION 23.01.2025
Deputy Akim of the region Nurbol Turashbekov on his next working trip to Zhetysai and Shardara monitored the work carried out on 512 vertical drainage wells in the district, which are being financed by the Islamic Development Bank, and held a meeting with contractors.

Over the past 10 years, the yield and quality of agricultural crops in the Zhetysai district, whose income and livelihood are directly related to the agricultural sector, have decreased. Experts attributed this to the failure of 210 of the 380 vertical drainage wells in the district, which led to a rise in groundwater levels.
Currently, the construction of 97 vertical drainages in the district, located on an area of 16,010 hectares, is being carried out by “Kiikbay Stroy Service” LLP. The task of installing 113 drainage systems on 19,911 hectares of irrigated land was entrusted to “Art-Kurylys” LLP.
The total number of vertical drainage wells in the Shardara district is 302. The rehabilitation of vertical drainage wells is being financed and implemented through the Islamic Development Bank. To date, 229 new vertical drainage wells have been dug. The work continues according to the production schedule.

This year, large-scale work is being carried out in the Turkestan region as part of the "Clean Kazakhstan" program. According to the plan, 7,263 daily Sabbath events have been approved in the region. Currently, district and city akimats and the Regional Revenue Department are organizing work to keep business facilities and adjacent territories clean. Today, 885 requests have been received on the "Telegram Bot" platform. Of these, 866 requests have been fulfilled, while the remaining requests are in the process of being fulfilled. In 2024-2025, 121 special equipment, 259 workers, more than 4 thousand cubic meters of sand and about 600 tons of salt will be used for winter maintenance of roads on about 4 thousand kilometers of roads.
At the meeting, the head of the Regional Construction Department, Sultangali Zhalkul, reported on the progress of the implementation of the "Cozy School" project. The construction of 29 schools has begun in the region. 13 of them have been commissioned. The remaining 16 are planned to be commissioned this year. The roofs of 12 of the 16 schools to be commissioned have been covered, and work on interior decoration, engineering infrastructure, and exterior cladding has begun. Construction work is 60% complete.

INTERIM RESULTS: NEARLY 31 THOUSAND APPLICANTS TOOK THE UNT IN JANUARY
In the first week of the UNT in January, about 31 thousand people took the test. About 60% of applicants scored the cut-off score. According to the test results, the average score was 58 points. The highest score was 136, which was scored by a student from the Turkestan region.
69.3% of test participants took the test in Kazakh, 30.6% in Russian, and 27 people in English.
The majority of applicants, in particular, 18.2%, took the combination of subjects "Mathematics-Physics". 13.5% chose the combination "Biology-Chemistry", 13.3% "Creative exam". The least chosen combination is "Chemistry-Physics", which was passed by 55 people.
Thanks to the creation of favorable conditions for applicants with special educational needs, 101 applicants took part in the January UNT.
Applicants can appeal within 30 minutes after the end of the test, in which case the certificate will be available in the test taker's personal account after the decision on the appeal is made.
Currently, the results of 71 people have been canceled. Of these, 37 applicants were denied the opportunity to take the test due to attempts to carry prohibited items such as smartphones and cheat sheets, and 34 people were expelled from the audience for violating the rules during the test. No other individuals have been identified.
It should be noted that after the completion of the 2025 UNT, the video recordings of the test will be analyzed until October 31 of the calendar year. If the facts of using prohibited substances or violating the rules are revealed, the applicant's UNT results will be canceled.
As a reminder, the January UNT will be held from January 13 to February 10. About 167 thousand applicants expressed their intention to participate in the test.

President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a number of instructions on infrastructure development and increasing the number of settlements connected to natural gas in the country. At the same time, as of January 1, 2025, of the 807 settlements of the Turkestan region, 563 (69.7%) or 1,833,455 inhabitants, that is, 85.5% are covered by natural gas.A lot of work will be done this year to significantly increase the number of regular users of natural gas in the region.
