President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a number of instructions on infrastructure development and increasing the number of settlements connected to natural gas in the country. At the same time, as of January 1, 2025, of the 807 settlements of the Turkestan region, 563 (69.7%) or 1,833,455 inhabitants, that is, 85.5% are covered by natural gas.A lot of work will be done this year to significantly increase the number of regular users of natural gas in the region. By the end of the year, construction works will be carried out at 47 facilities to supply gas to settlements in the region. Of these, 25 will be commissioned in 2025, while the remaining 27 facilities will be transferred to 2026.The "Action Plan for the provision of natural gas in the Turkestan region for 2023-2027" has also been approved. The first meeting of the Regional Investment Headquarters in 2025 was held under the chairmanship of Akim of the Turkestan region Nuralkhan Kusherov. The meeting discussed the current status of 15 major projects being implemented in the region, as well as current issues. The head of the region instructed responsible managers to step up efforts to attract investments.– Attracting investments and opening new production facilities are priority areas for us. It is necessary to strengthen efforts to increase the number of new production facilities," Nuralkhan Kusherov said after listening to reports and requests from investors.At the meeting of the headquarters, the appeals of investors and entrepreneurs, as well as the progress of the implementation of investment projects were discussed. Among the key initiatives are the construction of a combined-cycle gas plant, a cattle slaughtering point and a feedlot in Sairam, a gas production project in Sozak, the construction of a modern brick factory and a factory for the production of aluminum products in Ordabasy. Factories for the production of engineering equipment and industrial shut-off valves are being built in the Sauransky district. Construction of the country's largest greenhouse continues in Kelessky district, and a poultry farm is expanding in Saryagash.It should be noted that in 2024, the volume of investments in fixed assets of the Turkestan region amounted to 1,334.9 billion tenge, exceeding the planned figure by 1.4 times. The stabilization of food prices in the Turkestan region is under strict control. Today, Akim of the region Nuralkhan Kusherov visited vegetable storage facilities. The head of the region instructed responsible managers to carefully ensure that food prices do not exceed the limits, as well as to regularly organize agricultural fairs to provide residents of the region with affordable products.
