The Department of Digitalization and Public Services of the capital, together with Astana Hub and Astana Innovations, completed the implementation of the Astana Smart City Accelerator program aimed at introducing advanced technologies into key areas of urban infrastructure, the official website of the city Akimat reports.On November 20, the final stage of the Demo Day program took place, where the program participants demonstrated their innovative solutions that have already begun to transform the life of the city.The selected startups have already been successfully launched in public clinics, schools, public transport, as well as in urban services and infrastructure facilities in Astana. Of the 128 applications, 107 passed the initial selection, and the finalists received funding of up to 5 million tenge through Seed Money from Astana Hub. HOOOD is a digital outdoor advertising management (DOOH) platform that provides advertisers, especially small and medium-sized businesses, with access to a flexible and easy–to-use tool for launching and adapting advertising campaigns in real time.- Autism Spectrum is an application developed for the audience of Kazakhstan, designed for children with autism and their parents.- Rationeel is a hybrid system combining a cloud solution and a mobile application, specializing in digitalization of business processes and optimization of data collection.- i-ConS – a mobile application with a web interface simplifies the management of construction and repair work, project budget control and material tracking.- Green Cars is engaged in the development of infrastructure for electric vehicles in Kazakhstan, providing an IT platform and a network of charging stations.- Hi Doctor is an expert clinical decision support system that acts as a clinical assistant to a doctor.- qMed is a platform for the management of chronic non–communicable diseases such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension and chronic heart failure.The Astana Smart City Accelerator program has not only proved the effectiveness of the introduction of advanced technologies in the urban environment, but also laid the foundation for the further development of Astana as a center of digital technologies. On November 20, 2024, a renewable energy auction was held to select projects for the construction of a bioelectric power plant with a total installed capacity of 10 MW.3 companies were allowed to participate in the auction, and 5 price offers were submitted by the participants during the trading session. The total volume of applications submitted was 12.4 MW.The maximum auction price during the auction for the selection of bioenergy projects in 2024 was 32.23 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT). The price range of bids received from auction participants ranged from 32.23 to 32.14 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT).In accordance with paragraph 55 of the Rules for the Organization and Conduct of auctions, the volume of selection of installed capacity has been increased from 10 to 11.9 MW. The investment project of TANDEM recycling LLP for the recycling of used batteries is being prepared for launch in Pavlodar. According to forecasts, it is planned to recycle 12 thousand batteries per year at this enterprise, which will produce from 750 to 1 thousand tons of lead and 105-140 tons of polypropylene per month. This was announced by Serikbol Kaliakparov, Head of the Investment Projects Service of Zhasyl Damu JSC.According to him, the investment headquarters of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan discussed projects aimed at modernizing and improving the waste recycling and disposal system in the regions. In the same place, the members of the headquarters approved an investment project for the collection, storage, transportation and recycling of used batteries in Pavlodar, using a system of accounting and supervision of all batteries accepted before recycling. The applicant, TANDEM recycling LLP, has already passed the first stage of document formation at the Industrial Development Fund JSC and is now awaiting indicative conditions. It should be noted that 161 workplaces will be created at the new enterprise.In addition, the aim of the project is to modernize and strengthen the existing production for the processing of spent batteries, as well as expand the network of collection points for used batteries from legal entities and individuals in Kazakhstan, develop a system for accounting and tracking each received battery from the moment of acceptance to processing. But most importantly, the disposal of waste batteries will prevent further lead pollution of the environment.It should be noted that the following products are formed during the processing of batteries: battery sludge, lead scrap, coarse lead, lead of various brands, as well as industrial waste.The project is scheduled to be launched in the second quarter of 2025.The total cost of the project: KZT 6,446 million. The draft laws "On Aquaculture" and the accompanying Law "On Amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on aquaculture" were discussed at the plenary session of the Mazhilis today.The main goal of these initiatives is to ensure the sustainable development of aquaculture by creating and expanding production facilities, as well as increasing the volume of cultivation of competitive aquaculture facilities.Vice Minister of Agriculture Amangali Berdalin noted that the new bills will solve problems, including creating conditions for the development of the export potential of aquaculture facilities and products of its processing, supporting the effective introduction of new technologies and processes in the field of aquaculture, as well as providing assistance to aquaculture entities to increase their competitiveness.The project includes defining the rights and obligations of aquaculture entities, establishing conditions for fisheries management and conducting scientific research. It also provides for an assessment of the state of aquaculture development in order to analyze the effectiveness of government support measures and study economic, legal and environmental factors.Within the framework of the draft law, it is planned to introduce an information monitoring system, the purpose of which will be data collection, maintaining a register of business entities and traceability of aquaculture facilities. Reservoirs are planned to be provided on a competitive basis through an electronic portal, which will ensure transparency in the process of resource allocation.Competitive conditions are provided to support investors, including the non-competitive provision of reservoirs while meeting minimum investment requirements. Investors will be required to create production facilities and increase the volume of cultivation.Additional government support measures include subsidies, concessional lending and scientific support. This will improve the competence of fish farmers and introduce innovative technologies.State control in the field of aquaculture will also be established in order to ensure product safety and environmental protection.
