This was announced by the mayor of the city, Yerbolat Dosayev, during a session of the maslikhat, at which the budget of the metropolis for 2025-2027 was considered."In order to achieve a new quality of landscaping and expand the green fund, financing of these important priorities will increase by 40%, or 50 billion tenge, to 170.5 billion tenge in 2025," Mayor of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev said in his speech. To ensure a comfortable urban environment, new Landscaping Rules have been adopted, three-year contracts for complex maintenance of courtyards have been introduced, and approaches to repairing facades of houses along main streets have been revised.Since January 2024, three-year contracts for the maintenance of yards have been concluded for the first time. They cover sanitary cleaning, repair of landscaping elements and maintenance of green areas. This approach eliminates the blurring of contractors' responsibilities and increases work efficiency. 141 units of equipment were purchased for the Almaty Tazalyk Park in 2023-2024, and 32 more units of equipment are planned to be purchased in 2025. The work of Almaty Tazalyk in 2025 will focus on cleaning main streets. As part of the comprehensive work on the development of urban infrastructure in Almaty, new approaches to landscaping are being actively introduced on behalf of the mayor of the city, Yerbolat Dosayev. In 2023-2024, more than 643 thousand green spaces were planted, and by 2030, according to the approved Roadmap, 2.5 million trees and shrubs are planned to be planted. One of the key areas for improving the state of the green fund was the introduction of drip irrigation and automatic irrigation systems. Yerbolat Dosayev: Three-year contracts for complex maintenance of yards have been introduced in Almaty 06.12.2024
A new principle for the sanitary maintenance of courtyards and the road network has been introduced in Almaty. Mayor of the city Yerbolat Dosayev announced this at an extraordinary session of the city maslikhat, during which the budget of the metropolis for 2025-2027 was considered."For the first time, the Akimat has introduced the practice of concluding three-year contracts for the integrated maintenance of courtyards, which include sanitary cleaning, repair of landscaping elements and maintenance of green areas. To service 4,020 courtyards and 24 million square meters of the street and road network, the 2025 budget provides 27 billion tenge with an increase of 10% compared to 2024," Yerbolat Dosayev said.It should be noted that earlier contests for the maintenance of courtyards and streets were held once a year, and it was unprofitable for contractors to purchase expensive special equipment. This was due to concerns that they might not win the tender next year, which would make such investments unjustified. In this regard, on behalf of the Mayor of Almaty, Yerbolat Dosayev, in order to improve the quality and efficiency of cleaning work in the city, competitions have been held since this year with the conclusion of three-year contracts with the condition of annual indexation of financing. This measure will create a more predictable and sustainable working environment for the development of contractors. In addition, the innovation will avoid downtime in cleaning due to the absence of contractors during the competitive procedures. In turn, contractors will be able to plan expenses for the purchase of equipment and the expansion of staff.Today, sanitary cleaning in Almaty covers 24 million square meters. m of territory; 2,318 streets with a length of 2,777 km; 1,304 km of sidewalks and 1,167 km of irrigation ditches. There are also 4,020 yards cleaned daily in eight districts of the city.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/almaty/press/news/details/897633

The national climate report on the greenhouse gas inventory was discussed 06.12.2024
On December 5, 2024, Zhasyl Damu JSC hosted a seminar on the main issues and provisions of national climate reporting in the format of the national report of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the inventory of anthropogenic emissions from sources and sinks of greenhouse gases not regulated by the Montreal Protocol 1990-2022.In the modern era, the problem of climate change is becoming a global crisis. Resolving the issue is becoming an indispensable part of the strategy for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, the main focus of which is aimed at improving human well-being and the security of our planet.According to the results of the UN report on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in 2023, Kazakhstan took 66th place among 166 countries, scoring 71.6 points out of 100. This marks an improvement over the previous year (2022 – 71.1 points). In addition, the Biannual Transparency Report developed by Zhasyl Damu JSC turned out to be the best. The main part of BTR1 is the National Inventory Report on Anthropogenic Emissions from Sources and Removals by sinks of Greenhouse Gases. The opening of this seminar was attended by Vice Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mansur Oshurbayev, expert on climate policy of UNDP in Kazakhstan Gulmira Sergazina, as well as the management of JSC Zhasyl Damu. The moderator of the seminar is Ayman Yessekina, Director of the Greenhouse Gas Inventory Department of Zhasyl Damu JSC.This seminar was organized following the presentation of the First Biennial Transparency Report of the Republic of Kazakhstan (BTR1) to the UNFCCC Secretariat, developed by the United Nations Development Program in Kazakhstan and JSC Zhasyl Damu within the framework of the project "The First biennial Report and the joint Ninth National Communication and the Second Biennial Transparency Report of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change."BTR1 contains mandatory information on the national greenhouse gas inventory and progress in the implementation of the ONUV (nationally determined contribution). The preparation of information on the national inventory of greenhouse gases is carried out by JSC Zhasyl Damu, which is the operator of the carbon trading system of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For reference: Emissions that contribute to the effects of greenhouse gases are ozone with a water vapor content of 36-72, carbon dioxide 9-26, methane 4-9 and percent 3-7. Some greenhouse emissions resulting from natural processes include ozone, nitric oxide, methane, carbon dioxide and water vapor. After the addition of anthropogenic additives, the throughput is exceeded and the natural balance is disrupted, so that global warming and climate change occur. The seminar discussed calculations of greenhouse gas emissions in economic sectors: the energy sector, which includes the oil and gas industry and transport; industrial processes and product use; agriculture; forestry, other land uses and the waste sector.
