Kazakhstan and France signed an agreement on cooperation in the conservation of Lake Balkhash at One Water Summit 04.12.2024
The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the French Development Agency (AFD) and the Bureau of Geological and Mining Research of France (BRGM) signed a trilateral cooperation agreement. The agreement was reached at the international One Water Summit, which is being held in Saudi Arabia with the participation of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of France Emmanuel Macron.On the part of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, First Vice Minister Bolat Bekniyaz participated in the signing ceremony of the agreement. The purpose of the document is to develop cooperation in the field of conservation of Lake Balkhash.The agreement provides for the allocation of a grant of 1.35 million euros to the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation for the development of water resources management of Lake Balkhash. The French side will conduct a large-scale study of the Lake Balkhash basin, based on the results of which a long-term master plan will be developed until 2040. It will prescribe measures to preserve the internal waters of the reservoir.In addition, the Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with BRGM in the field of water resources. The document provides for the development of bilateral cooperation in this area."The trilateral agreement with AFD and BRGM is aimed at studying and sustainable water management in the Lake Balkhash basin. The document provides for the measurement and analysis of water conditions, modeling of climatic and anthropogenic influences, as well as forecasting the water balance until 2040. Kazakhstan presented five key initiatives to solve urgent problems in the field of water resources at the One Water Summit. Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for International Environmental Cooperation Zulfiya Suleimenova outlined the country's plans in the field of water policy and environmental cooperation.Thus, Kazakhstan intends to ratify the UN Protocol on Water and Health. Today, the country is a party to the UN Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes, as well as the UN Convention on the Law of Non-Navigational Uses of International Watercourses. As part of the improvement of the system of awarding sports titles and categories, a draft new order has been developed, providing for changes in all sports, including sports such as acrobatics and rhythmic gymnastics.The assignment of sports titles, categories and qualification categories is regulated by the norms and requirements approved by the Order of the Acting Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 28, 2014 No. 56 "On Approval of norms and requirements for the assignment of sports titles, categories and qualification categories" (hereinafter – the Order).At the same time, the assignment process itself, including the procedure for submitting applications, is determined by Order No. 300 of July 29, 2014, which regulates the entire mechanism for awarding and depriving sports titles, categories and qualification categories.The amendment of the new order provides for standards for many sports, including the introduction of a point-based assessment system for rhythmic gymnastics and sports acrobatics, developed by republican accredited sports federations. Until now, titles and ranks in these sports have been awarded solely on the basis of the prizes won.The new rules also provide for a unified approach to awarding titles and grades for all categories of sports: Olympic, Paralympic, national, non-Olympic, technical, military-applied and others. The draft order clarifies the requirements for all sports, developed in cooperation with relevant sports federations.Athletes who have fulfilled the requirements of the new order will retain the right to be awarded titles and ranks, including the results achieved at competitions before the entry into force of the updated standards.Currently, the draft order has been sent for approval to the Department of Legal Service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Three projects in agricultural machinery have been launched this year in Kazakhstan 04.12.2024
This year, three new production facilities in the agricultural machinery sector have been launched in Kazakhstan. Their total cost is 5.7 billion tenge. The implementation of the projects allowed the creation of 172 permanent jobs. This was announced by the Directorate of monitoring and analysis of the implementation of projects of the KCE "QazIndustry"."Enterprises have started to produce self-propelled agricultural machines, trailed and mounted machinery, sprinkler equipment, deep-water heaters and other equipment. New York, December 2, 2024 – The United Nations General Assembly approved three resolutions initiated by Kazakhstan, aimed at strengthening global security, disarmament, and the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.Kazakhstan, recognizing the UN as an irreplaceable and universal international organization, and adhering to a principled position on the issue of banning all types of weapons of mass destruction, reaffirmed its commitment to multilateralism and close cooperation with UN institutions. Fifteen countries, including all Central Asian states, supported the document as co-sponsors.The resolution, “Addressing the Legacy of Nuclear Weapons: Providing Victim Assistance and Environmental Remediation to Member States Affected by the Use or Testing of Nuclear Weapons”, initiated by Kazakhstan and Kiribati, has sent an important signal to the global community about the need to consolidate efforts in providing humanitarian assistance to those affected by the use or testing of nuclear weapons. At a round table in the Central Communications Service, representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported that psychological Support Centers were opened in 20 regions of the country in 2024. Today, they have provided assistance to about 240,000 schoolchildren and their families.Vice Minister Edil Ospan noted that new approaches were introduced to assess the effectiveness of their work, including the development of methodological recommendations and clarifying the requirements for the qualification of specialists."The Ministry has approved methodological recommendations on the organization of the centers' activities, staffing, requirements for the qualifications and material and technical equipment of employees. A project office has been created to develop the activities of the centers, and providers have been identified. Lessons of personal safety are taught to Kazakhstani schoolchildren 04.12.2024
In the Central Communications Service, Vice Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Edil Ospan focused on the innovations of the new academic year. Since September 1, kindergartens, schools and colleges in the country have begun to teach the basics of personal safety, which include 130 lessons.Today, the children have fully mastered all the topics planned for 10 weeks, including the basics of personal safety, rules of safe behavior in public places, on the street, at home and on the Internet. Until the end of the academic year, they will repeat and consolidate the studied material, paying special attention to the safe use of digital technologies, online threats, as well as the development of responsible and critical analysis skills."These lessons give children not only knowledge and practical skills to ensure their own safety, but also help to develop children's social responsibility and self-confidence. We strive to create a supportive atmosphere, taking into account the age and level of development of each child," said Edil Ospan.Recall that classes are held weekly as part of a class hour, lasting 10 minutes, with the repetition of topics three times a year.
