Today, the volunteer movement is actively developing and plays a significant role in various spheres of public life. A solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the International Volunteer of the Year Award and the Marathon of Good Deeds project took place in Astana today as part of the International Volunteer Day. Maksat Dauletyarov, Head of the Emergency Response Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, presented awards to the best 8 volunteers of the country in the nominations "for active participation in emergency response", "for active participation in the search for missing people" and "for active participation in helping victims of offenses". "To date, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has organized cooperation with 150 volunteer organizations, where there are over 66.5 thousand volunteers. This year, over 1,000 volunteers have been involved in search and rescue operations. During the flood period, more than 50 thousand volunteers and volunteers participated in the liquidation of the consequences of emergency situations, the collection and distribution of humanitarian aid. In order to clarify the basic rules of behavior during the bathing period, over 26.8 thousand volunteers were involved in campaigning among the population," Maksat Dauletyarov said. During the gathering seminar "Kazkutkaru-2024", the II-th Republican Forum of volunteers in the field of emergency response to natural and man-made disasters was held. The forum was attended by over 20 representatives of volunteer organizations from all regions of the country. During the forum, the specifics of conducting search and rescue operations in mountainous areas, first aid to emergency victims, rescue on water and much more were studied. As part of the pilot project, a mobile group of volunteers in the field of emergency prevention and response has been created in Kostanay region. 1.5 thousand volunteers have been trained in the Departments of Emergency Situations in the category of "Heads and coordinators of volunteer organizations (groups)".
