The tourism industry in Almaty has demonstrated impressive growth in 2024. The growth of the tourist flow has become a significant achievement: in the three quarters of 2024, 1.7 million people visited Almaty, which is 14.2% more than in the same period of 2023. The increase in the number of guests had a direct impact on the city's economy: tax revenues from the tourism industry for 11 months amounted to 85.5 billion tenge, which is twice as much as last year's figures. Investments in fixed assets in this area reached 92.9 billion tenge, an increase of 12% compared to last year. At the expense of private funds, 35 new accommodation facilities were opened in the city, including 20 hotels, 4 glamping, 8 hostels and 3 guest houses, which added 836 rooms and significantly strengthened the infrastructure for receiving tourists. These results indicate the high investment attractiveness of Almaty and the effective work to create favorable business conditions.
