Standard&Poor's international rating agency affirms Kazakhstan's sovereign credit rating at "BBB-/A-3", outlook - "Stable" 24.02.2025
The main factors supporting the country's rating remain strong fiscal and external balances, which provide sufficient reserves for potential external risks.Agency experts predict that the country's liquid external assets will significantly exceed external debt.S&P noted that the planned growth in oil production and the expansion of capacities at the Tengiz oil field will have a positive impact on economic growth. The publication noted that Kazakhstan's medium-term fiscal trajectory will depend on compliance with fiscal rules. It is expected that expanding the tax base and limiting additional transfers from the National Fund of the Republic of Kazakhstan will allow reducing the budget deficit.S&P also noted the resilience of Kazakhstan's banking sector to geopolitical and macroeconomic risks. According to experts, second-tier banks have sufficient capital reserves and stable liquidity.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/economy/press/news/details/943794

We believe that in the near future other universities in Almaty will also apply to participate in our “Green University” program,” said the founder of the eco-hub, Evgeny Mukhamedzhanov.Manakhabek Mereibek, a 4th-year student, noted that the university actively supports environmental initiatives. “We are glad to participate in such initiatives and are confident that other universities in the country will support environmental projects,” he said.It should be noted that KazGASA was named one of the first universities among the program partners, and several other universities in the city are also preparing to open eco-hubs. This indicates the growing interest of educational institutions in “greening” their activities. It should be recalled that the first eco-hub in Almaty was launched within the framework of the republican “Clean Kazakhstan” program, and currently active work is underway to recycle plastic waste. Bicycle shredders for shredding plastic have been installed, and extruders are operating, which allow it to be turned into various products. This project has become an important step in the development of environmental culture and continues to expand its capabilities. In the future, it is planned to combine all the developments and create an eco-track around the city. These measures will contribute to the formation of an environmental culture and increase the population's responsibility for the environment. Development of a comfortable urban environment and ecology: Almaty uses the best practices of Beijing 21.02.2025
Almaty Mayor Yerbolat Dossayev met with Beijing Mayor Yin Yun as part of his working visit to the People's Republic of China. During the talks, the parties discussed the possibility of strengthening bilateral partnership between the cities. Particular attention was paid to the development of transport infrastructure, improving the environmental situation and creating a comfortable urban environment. One of the main issues of the meeting was the environmental situation of cities. According to Yin Yun, over the past 20 years, Beijing has achieved a significant reduction in the level of harmful emissions into the atmosphere. This is the result of a systematic environmental policy, a scientific approach and technological innovation. Reducing pollution levels is carried out on the basis of the Beijing Master Plan adopted in 2016. This plan provides for the expansion of the metro system, the development of a convenient transport system aimed at environmentally friendly transport, and the creation of low-emission zones (LEZ), which will restrict the movement of vehicles that do not meet environmental requirements.During the conversation with the mayor of Beijing, Yerbolat Dossayev noted that measures are currently being taken in Almaty to protect atmospheric air, prevent point-based construction, form the city's transport infrastructure and develop high-speed rail and public transport. The mayor of Almaty announced that a new Almaty Master Plan was adopted in May 2023, which has not been revised for more than 20 years. The basis of this plan is the principle of polycentric development aimed at reducing the burden on the historical center. Such measures will allow for the balanced development of the urban environment. As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen bilateral relations and expressed confidence that the development of partnership between Almaty and Beijing will contribute to the economic growth and sustainable development of the two cities of Kazakhstan and China.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/almaty/press/news/details/941678
