22 cm of snow per day: Almaty utilities eliminate the consequences of heavy snowfall 24.12.2024
On December 15-16, a large amount of snow fell in Almaty, a third of the average monthly precipitation for December. 22 cm of snow fell in the city, 40 cm on the Kamensk plateau, 42 cm in Shymkent.More than 600 pieces of special equipment and 1,080 road workers are involved in the elimination of the consequences of the snowfall around the clock.Since the beginning of the snowfall, 6,520 m3 of snow has been removed from city streets.Snow removal requires preparatory work to form snow banks at the roadsides.Due to the fact that the shafts are formed by large-sized machinery (graders, front loaders), they are carried out at night. In connection with the above, the presence of snowdrifts in the morning hours on the roadway is a technological necessity during the work.It should be noted that the shafts are removed during the next work shift.Next, the instrument panel is cleaned after its removal, ice is chipped and snow-ice formations are removed. In order to organize the timely removal of snow, we ask motorists not to park vehicles on roadsides, especially at night.Due to the fact that the amount of snowfall in one day was a decade-long norm, snow removal from the main highways of the city will be completed this night.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/almaty/press/news/details/903976
How is Almaly district changing? Renovated squares, public spaces and schools 24.12.2024
A press tour of the facilities implemented at the request of residents this year was held in Almaly district of Almaty. The first object was one of the city's main pedestrian streets, Panfilova. The daily pedestrian flow along the street ranges from 10 to 15 thousand people, and on weekends and holidays the traffic increases significantly. As the akim of the district Arman Shamshin noted, the high traffic capacity and active operation of the street by vehicles coming to unload goods for cafes and restaurants led to an increase in the load on the road surface and decorative elements. Residents of the district also asked to renovate the street. So, for the first time since 2017, it was decided to repair the road surface. Work on Panfilov Street began in September: 2,000 square meters of paving stones were replaced, 130 new benches and 2 playgrounds were installed, and fountains were repaired. The green area has been expanded by 20%, new shrubs have been planted and a new lawn has been sown. We have installed module houses for artisans, a stationary police station and a modern "Visitor Center". The townspeople note that the renovated street has become more comfortable and convenient. The next object of the visit was secondary school No. 136, where major seismic-enhanced repairs were carried out for the first time in 35 years. In accordance with modern requirements, the school has updated classrooms for robotics, chemistry, biology, physics, computer science, as well as workshops and technology classrooms for boys and girls. All subject rooms are equipped with interactive panels and new furniture. The participants of the press tour also visited the Vostochny AZTM Park, which was renovated as part of the Budget of National Participation program in 2023. Residents of the new houses of the Nomad residential complex have taken the initiative to improve the neglected place near the residential complex.Exercise equipment, walking paths, a large green area with a lawn (about 10,000 square meters), with flowers and trees, new lighting. It turned out to be a small but very cozy Almaty square.According to Alyona Shin, a resident and co-author of the BNU project, this project is the pride of the district and the residents themselves. "This is not just a square, we are the only ones in the area who have their own artificial pond in the square. We shared the idea with the experts from the akimat, and they helped us to implement it. My children only play on this playground all the time, and there is also a very cool volleyball court. In general, everything is provided for family holidays," the resident shared. The final object in the tour was a new square with an area of 0.49 hectares, which was built on the site of a former spontaneous market on Rozybakieva Street, south of Duisenova Street. As Arman Shamshin noted, earlier there was a fenced spontaneous market in its place, which caused inconvenience to residents of nearby houses. Residents have repeatedly asked to remove the market and make a public garden in its place. Said and done: as a result, the site of the former market turned into a green area with a lawn (about 2 thousand square meters. m.), with flowers, shrubs and trees.Benches, exercise equipment, pergolas, playgrounds and running tracks made of modern and high-quality materials have been installed for residents. An automatic irrigation and lighting system was also installed."It's very beautiful here in the evenings, great lighting. We applied and supervised the work, so we come here and admire it. There is a place where both adults and children can spend time comfortably. And a great track for sports. Previously, it was impossible to even open the windows on this side, because there was a spontaneous market, and the smell and noise. Now it's a completely different matter. Very large green areas and pergolas are decorated. It has become not just convenient, but also beautiful," said resident Asem Nurgazina. In Almaly district, 34 projects were implemented in 2023 as part of the Budget of National Participation program, and 52 projects in 2024."In recent years, the "Budget of Public Participation" program has had a great impact on the improvement of Almaty. Green recreation areas play an important role in improving public spaces and improving the ecological situation of the city. We always support the initiatives of the residents of the district," says akim of the district Arman Shamshin.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/almaty/press/news/details/903977
