The transformation of a favorite place of Almaty residents: Panfilov pedestrian street sparkled with new colors after the current renovation 22.11.2024
The pedestrian street of Panfilov began to play with new colors. In September of this year, work began on its repair in the area between Kabanbai Batyr and Zhibek Zholy streets. This was due to the fact that the paving slabs cracked in places, benches, irrigation system and other elements of landscaping became unusable. As Mayor of the megalopolis Yerbolat Dosayev noted during a working detour of the Almaly district, this street is a favorite place of citizens and guests of Almaty, therefore, attention was paid to every detail in terms of aesthetics and practicality during the repair.Today, the district akimat has replaced two thousand square meters of paving stones, installed 130 benches, 2 playgrounds, replaced 2.6 km of lighting cables and repaired 2 dry fountains. Special attention was paid to landscaping and the creation of living areas. Thus, the green zone has been expanded by 20%."In general, this territory will be decorated with more than 13 thousand shrubs and perennials, such as Japanese spirea, hydrangea and many other plants. We have already planted 39 new trees: small-leaved linden, ornamental apple and pear trees. To protect the sown lawn from the cold and birds, we covered it with cocoa bean husks. They act as fertilizer and give a pleasant smell," said Margarita Balakireva, a representative of the contractor. After the renovation, the space sparkled with new colors, causing positive emotions among the citizens."I can say that the difference is immediately noticeable, it has become more comfortable to move on smooth paving stones, the street has become more cozy. Experts have tried to make the pedestrian zone look beautiful at any time of the day, regardless of the time of the year," one of the residents of the city shared.Alina Kuznetsova, a resident of the district, stressed that she was especially pleased with the new installations and children's areas. "We walk here almost every day, it's great that our favorite fountains have been repaired. In general, everything is done perfectly, the street has become even more beautiful," she added.Another object visited by Yerbolat Dosayev during the detour is a new square at the intersection of Rozybakiev and Duissenov streets, built within the framework of the Budget of People's Participation program.Earlier, the land plot of 0.49 hectares, on which the square is located, was transferred to the entrepreneur for temporary lease. However, the land was not used for its intended purpose, and over time a spontaneous market was formed there, which caused inconvenience to residents of nearby houses. Now paths have been arranged on this site, benches, urns, playgrounds for kids and teenagers with rubber coating have been installed, lighting has been carried out. There is also an automatic irrigation system, a green area in the form of a lawn and 3,585 perennial shrubs."Before that, screams and noise from parking trucks started under the windows in the early morning, and in summer it was impossible to open the window because of various smells. We are glad that the akimat has not only solved the problem of spontaneous trade, but also improved the site. This project has become a kind of decoration of our neighborhood, turning a noisy area into a green square. Now residents and especially children constantly gather here and spend their leisure time," one of the residents of the district shared her opinion.During the meeting with the citizens, Yerbolat Dosayev stressed that work will continue in the metropolis to create safe and green public spaces for recreation and sports. It should be noted that 18.8 billion tenge has been allocated for the program "Budget of People's Participation" this year in the city, which is 5.8 billion tenge more than last year. Almaty residents had the opportunity to propose and implement 364 projects for the improvement of courtyards, public spaces, the creation of sports and playgrounds.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/almaty/press/news/details/888994

Large-scale reconstruction of the boiler house and renovation of heating systems: Almaty is already preparing for the next heating season 22.11.2024
The Southern district boiler house in Almaty was built in 1972. Since then, only major and routine repairs of the equipment have been carried out. So, in 2003 and 2015, two of the four hot water boilers were replaced.Last year, the mayor of the city, Yerbolat Dosayev, during an inspection of the southern boiler house, which at that time was in a worn-out condition, instructed to modernize it. Thus, for the first time, the current project provides for the replacement and reconstruction of all four boilers, as well as existing auxiliary equipment.According to the design decisions, the contractor replaced three boilers in 1972, 1982 and 2003, and modernization works were carried out on the fourth hot water boiler. At this stage, pumping units, automation have been installed, gas and auxiliary equipment have been installed, and commissioning has been completed. As a result, the increase in boiler capacity amounted to 55 Gcal/h. After the complete completion of the reconstruction, the total capacity of the boiler house will be 190 Gcal/h.The reconstruction is scheduled to be completed in December this year. The head of the city noted that the renovation of the municipal infrastructure in Almaty is one of the priorities."We have significantly increased the volume of investments in the modernization of the thermal infrastructure, which allows us to ensure stable heat supply in the future. Currently, CHP-1 and CHP-2 consistently supply heat, but we strive to minimize the need for laying new backbone networks. Starting in 2025, we intend to develop local boiler houses that will effectively cover the needs of neighborhoods and neighborhoods. This is more efficient and will significantly reduce maintenance costs, since the repair of distribution networks is much more economical than replacing large-diameter main pipes. The work carried out this year is preparation for the next heating season of 2025-2026," Yerbolat Dosayev said. For example, in 2023, a local boiler house was built in the Nauryzbay district, and construction is also planned in the Turksib district. In addition, the Mayor of Almaty was informed about the modernization of worn-out heating networks in the Bostandyk district, which were put into operation from 39 to 48 years ago, with a standard service life of 25 years. The work has been fully completed on four sites, which are powered by the southern boiler house, with a total length of about 5 km. With the measures taken, residents of 328 apartment buildings, 30 private houses, 11 kindergartens, 4 schools, 4 health facilities and 103 other facilities are provided with high-quality heat supply.Recall that Almaty is actively modernizing engineering networks. This year, 20 km of networks have been reconstructed. Reconstruction of 4 and repair of 81 boiler houses of ATKE LLP has been completed. This made it possible to reduce network wear from 57.9% to 56.1%. The heating season in 2024 was started on October 7, and 100% readiness was ensured. 140% of coal and 100% of fuel oil have been accumulated for the current heating season. In total, 404 educational facilities, 128 healthcare facilities and 8,863 residential buildings are covered.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/almaty/press/news/details/888817

In Almaty, for the first time in Kazakhstan, video analytics and artificial intelligence were used for the safety of citizens 22.11.2024
Almaty successfully uses video from surveillance cameras in real time using artificial intelligence. Thus, in 2023, the Akimat of Almaty for the first time in Kazakhstan introduced a comprehensive security system in public educational and preschool institutions.Adopting the successful experience of Almaty, this technology has been used in other regions of the country. The project of a Unified video monitoring system was launched back in 2022 and today the system unites 45 thousand city cameras. By the end of next year, their number will grow to 70 thousand. Thanks to this system, dozens of people suspected of committing serious crimes, as well as those who are wanted, have been found and detained over the past year. The system is integrated with law enforcement databases containing more than 13 thousand records of wanted persons."The system instantly notifies the situation center and police departments when a wanted person is found, sending the exact coordinates. This significantly reduces the response time and increases the efficiency of the police," the Almaty Digitalization Department said.Artificial intelligence algorithms also allow you to: detect clusters of people and analyze their behavior, identify fights, suspicious objects, recognize images of weapons in public places, search for people /vehicles by image or photo, fix traffic violations, recognize fire and smoke.Without stopping there, new types of video analytics are being tested and implemented in the city, which improve the work of local services: identifying places where garbage accumulates, overflowing bins and containers, detecting stray animals, studying video streams in public transport, audio analytics for recording loud sounds.Today, the Integrated Security System project covers more than 400 public schools and kindergartens, all of them are equipped with digital video surveillance cameras, video intercoms, turnstiles with face recognition function, alarm buttons and fire alarm sensors connected to city emergency response services. Now there is an active connection to the video camera system of private educational institutions. By the end of this year, it is planned to introduce a similar security system in all public medical institutions.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/almaty/press/news/details/888648

A new public space on the Sairan embankment in Almaty will open in 2025 22.11.2024
During a working detour, Mayor of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev got acquainted with the progress of work on the improvement of the embankment of the Sairan reservoir, where, along with beach areas, a modern public space will be created. The head of the city was informed that by the end of this year all construction and installation works will be completed on time. However, on the recommendation of specialists, landscaping measures for planting green spaces should be carried out in a more favorable spring period. Accordingly, in order to ensure maximum survival, the planting of 200 large-sized lime trees will be carried out in the spring of next year.To date, the work has been completed by 70% - the installation of an automatic irrigation system, water supply, power supply cables is being completed, outdoor lighting is being carried out, shore reinforcement and the construction of the embankment.Recall that the implementation of the project began in February 2024. According to the project, two shores of Lake. Sairan will be connected into a single 2.5 km long promenade near the water, walking routes will also be available - 3.5 km through the existing bridge and 4.5 km route with access to Abai Avenue. A green array will be planted on the side of Tole bi Street, which will give it completeness.According to the landscaping project, a pergola near a pond with lotuses, benches, urns, and food courts will appear on the territory of the reservoir. A skate park with a rollerdrome, exercise equipment, a parkour playground, a bike park, a football field and a children's playground will be built for active leisure. The territory also provides for the installation of public toilets and a fenced dog walking area. Surveillance cameras will be installed around the perimeter of the entire territory. To ensure round-the-clock security on the embankment, 2 police stations and 2 rescue posts will be built. Thus, the illuminated, refined and cozy space will once again become the center of attraction in Almaty, which will transform not only the surrounding areas, but also improve the urban environment as a whole. "In recent years, Sairan has been perceived as an abandoned place that does not arouse interest. Our goal is to change this stereotype. A civilized holiday should be organized here: children's and family areas, active pastime and sports areas, beach areas with comfortable sun beds, illuminated paths, well-groomed embankments, modern cafes... An important priority is the restoration of the lost ecosystem, flora and fauna. Ponds, reservoirs and green parks are becoming places of attraction all over the world. And within the framework of the polycentric development of the city, Sayran should become one of those places where both residents of the central districts and foreign tourists will willingly come," Yerbolat Dosayev noted. Following the results of the working detour, the Head of the city instructed the contractor to complete all work on time in compliance with all construction, engineering, technical and sanitary standards. It should be noted that the work on the capital improvement of the embankment has not been carried out for decades. The Sairan reservoir was put into operation in 1971, in 1988-1989 asphalt paths and lighting were only installed on the embankment. In 2023, the bottom of the Sairan reservoir was cleared for the first time in 50 years.
