A meeting on the issues of socio-economic development of the city was held in Rudny under the chairmanship of Akim of Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov. The project cost is 920 billion tenge, and the planned capacity is 4 million tons per year. The introduction of MIDREX technology will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 40%. It is expected to create more than 1,000 new jobs, and annual tax revenues will amount to 32 billion tenge. The launch of the plant will increase the volume of processing of raw materials in the region by 2.2 times.In 2025, construction of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant will begin, which will provide enterprises and transport with more environmentally friendly and affordable fuel. The project cost is 14 billion tenge, the capacity is 50 thousand tons per year. 60 new jobs will be created.New educational programs are being introduced at colleges and universities in the city to train specialists in demand at industrial enterprises. This will provide qualified personnel for existing and future production facilities.TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTUREOne of the significant projects in the transport sector will be the reconstruction of the Kostanay–Rudny highway, which will begin in 2025. The length of the repaired section will be 31 kilometers, 6.6 billion tenge has been allocated for the project. Additionally, lighting of 25 kilometers of the highway and the installation of speed cameras are provided.As part of the modernization of the city's road network, major repairs of 47 streets with a total length of 28 kilometers are planned, including the completion of the reconstruction of Gornyakov Street.The renovation of public transport continues. This year, Rudny will receive 37 new buses, which will allow updating 50% of the city's fleet and reducing traffic intervals. 860 million tenge has been allocated for the implementation of the project.HOUSING CONSTRUCTION, LANDSCAPING, AND RETAIL INFRASTRUCTUREIn 2024, 45 thousand square meters of housing were commissioned in Rudny, which is 5% more than in 2023. Over the past two years, the housing waiting list has decreased by 9.3%.In addition to the construction of new houses, the reconstruction of old buildings is underway. 9 apartment buildings with a total area of 21 thousand square meters have been restored, 4 new houses (16 thousand square meters) have been built. Currently, work is underway to restore 7 houses (4 in Rudny, 3 in the village of Kachar), and it is also planned to build 10 more residential buildings.In 2025, the urban renewal program will continue: 700 million tenge has been allocated for the repair of facades and roofs of 9 apartment buildings.The replacement of outdated elevators in apartment buildings remains an important task. In two years, 17 new elevators have been installed, and in 2025 it is planned to replace 15 more, for which 262 million tenge is provided.Landscaping, the installation of benches and street lighting, and the construction of playgrounds and sports grounds are continuing as part of the yard improvement program.The issue of building a shopping and entertainment center was also raised at the meeting. Currently, there is no large modern shopping center in Rudny, which creates certain inconveniences for the townspeople. In this regard, the akim of the region instructed the mayor of the city, Viktor Ionenko, to study this issue, identify possible locations for construction, and attract investors to implement the project.EDUCATION, HEALTHCARE AND SPORTSIn 2025, the construction of two new schools for 900 and 1,200 places with the state language of instruction will be completed in Rudny. A project to create a School Children's Palace is also being considered, which will become a platform for the creative and intellectual development of children.To train specialists in technical and engineering specialties, the Rudn Industrial Institute has been granted university status, which has already led to a 6% increase in the number of students. Diplomatic Corps Briefed on New Visa Categories 18.02.2025
Astana, February 18, 2025 ‒ The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan hosted a briefing for representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, Kazakhstan’s foreign missions (online), and the media to highlight the advantages of newly introduced visa categories: Neo Nomad Visa, Digital Nomad Visa, and Residence Visa (B9).Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Vassilenko led the briefing alongside Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerzhan Yerkinbayev and Deputy Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Development Committee of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry Miras Zakiyev.In his opening remarks, Deputy Foreign Minister Vassilenko emphasized that the introduction of these new visa categories significantly enhances opportunities for foreign nationals wishing to live and work in Kazakhstan.“Our country creates the necessary conditions for attracting international professionals by providing visa-free entry for citizens from more than 80 countries and a simplified electronic visa for 109 countries. By expanding air connectivity, Kazakhstan now operates more than 700 international flights per week to more than 30 countries. Kazakhstan is also actively developing digital infrastructure, creating smart cities and providing access to high-speed Internet,” he stated.Vassilenko also added that implementing a flexible visa policy benefits not only Kazakhstan but also its partners through taxes and remittances sent by professionals working remotely, as well as the skills and unique experience they acquire in our country.In his remarks, Vice Minister Yerkinbayev stressed the timeliness and relevance of these visa initiatives, stating: “Kazakhstan continues to strengthen its position as an open and accessible destination for international visitors. This commitment to openness has become a key factor in the growth of tourism. In 2024, 15.3 million people visited Kazakhstan, which is 66 percent more than in the previous year.”The introduction of new visa categories – Neo Nomad Visa, Digital Nomad Visa, and B9 – aims to position Kazakhstan as an attractive destination for digital nomads and skilled professionals. This initiative is expected to contribute to Kazakhstan’s integration into the global economy, the development of the tourism sector, and the promotion of knowledge and cultural exchange.The Neo Nomad Visa (B12-1) is designed for digital nomads – foreign citizens who work remotely while traveling. Introducing this type of visa will enhance Kazakhstan’s recognition and accessibility as a tourist destination.The Digital Nomad Visa (B9-1) offers a unique opportunity for digital nomads – specialists such as freelancers, self-employed entrepreneurs, and startup founders – from any country to stay in Kazakhstan for an extended period.The Residence Visa (B9) is specifically designed to attract foreign professionals with expertise in fields such as medicine, science, innovation, education, and the creative industries, allowing them to stay in the country for up to 90 days. Казахстан и Венгрия обсудили перспективные направления сотрудничества в сельском хозяйстве17 февраля вице-премьер – министр национальной экономики Казахстана Серик Жумангарин встретился с министром внешних экономических связей и иностранных дел Венгрии Петером Сийяарто.Как отметил на встрече вице-премьер, Венгрия является надежным и стратегическим партнером Казахстана. Наши страны тесно связывают прочная экономическая основа, общие исторические и культурные взаимоотношения.- Венгрия является важным торгово-экономическим партнером Казахстана в ЕС. В прошлом году товарооборот между нашими странами увеличился на 4,4%, достигнув почти 200 млн долларов США. Сегодня, наряду с наращиванием объемов поставляемых товаров, мы заинтересованы в диверсификации линейки экспортируемой продукции и взаимных проектах, - обратился Серик Жумангарин к венгерской стороне. В контексте расширения сотрудничества казахстанская сторона предложила несколько направлений в сельском хозяйстве. Казахстан уже зарекомендовал себя на международных рынках и располагает большими возможностями для производства и экспорта качественной, экологически чистой сельскохозяйственной продукции. В частности, в совместном производстве семян и гибридов венгерской селекции. Это позволит не только снизить их стоимость и повысить доступность для фермеров, но и создать условия для выхода продукции на рынки соседних стран.Также вице-премьер предложил венгерской стороне рассмотреть проекты в сферах глубокой переработки молока, молочного скотоводства, птицеводства и пчеловодства. Что касается последнего, то казахстанским пчеловодам очень интересен венгерский опыт по повышению узнаваемости и популяризации продукции пчеловодства для выхода на экспортные рынки.Стороны также обсудили сотрудничество в банковской сфере, возобновляемой энергетике, проектах машиностроения и других.По итогам встречи Серик Жумангарин пригласил Петера Сийяарто принять участие в Международном форуме Астана, который состоится 29-30 мая 2025 года.Справочно:За 2024 год товарооборот между Казахстаном и Венгрией составил 195,8 млн долл. США (рост на 4,4% в сравнении с 2023 г.). Экспорт вырос на 12,3% и достиг $5,3 млн. Основными товарами экспорта из Казахстана в Венгрию являются шкурки, перья, пух, полимеры пропилена, компрессоры, вентиляторы и т.д. Импорт вырос на 4,2% и составил $190,5 млн.
