IN SHYMKENT, WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF “THE YEAR OF WORKING PROFESSIONS” LARGE-SCALE WORK HAS BEGUN 22.01.2025
2025 was declared the “Year of working professions” in Kazakhstan by the Presidential Decree. It is obvious that this initiative is aimed at increasing the prestige of working professions, glorifying hard work and professionalism. In this regard, the akimat of Shymkent has started implementing a number of important projects. These projects were announced at a field briefing, where Deputy Akim of Shymkent Sarsen Kuranbek and rectors of higher educational institutions, heads of colleges met.Deputy mayor of the city Sarsen Kuranbek said that a special Regional Plan of Shymkent city will be prepared and a set of measures will be implemented in accordance with seven key areas of the government. The general plan consists of 6 sections and 59 points. These include such areas as promotion of working professions, career guidance, training of working personnel and increasing the social activity of young people. The staff and regulations were approved, and the relevant branch departments of the akimat began their work on the plan. - 49,780 students study in 39 colleges in the city. Most of them are mastering working professions. In the 2024-2025 academic year, 67.5% of the 11,500 grants allocated from the national and local budgets are directed to this area. This shows that the demand for working professions is growing. In addition, 53 applicants are enrolled in training by order of employers and receive free education at the expense of business, - says Sarsen Abayevich.Another disappointing news is that from September 1, 2025, student scholarships will increase. Undergraduate students will receive scholarships in the amount of 52,372 tenge, and students studying in pedagogical and medical specialties-up to 84,000 tenge. The scholarship of undergraduates will increase to 117,098 tenge, doctoral students-to 262,500 tenge. The amount of scholarships will also be significantly increased for socially vulnerable groups. Scholarships for orphans will increase by 30%, scholarships for students with disabilities-by 50%. These measures are aimed at improving the quality of education of students and facilitating their social status.- The issue of providing students with dormitories is not on the agenda. The capacity of students in dormitories of higher educational institutions is 10,009 places. However, at the moment there is no problem with a shortage of dormitories for students. However, due to the growth of the city and the growth of the population, it is planned to build a hostel for 5 thousand people for 2025-2029, - said Sarsen Abayevich."The meeting also discussed the program" "Keleshek"", developed on behalf of the head of state, and noted that the unified system of voluntary savings will allow young people to get higher education and solve housing problems in the future." The program allows children to raise the necessary funds from the age of 5 in any second-tier banks or insurance companies in the country so that they can study at a higher educational institution in the future or buy a house after reaching the age of majority. In addition to increasing financial literacy, this system contributes to the conscious choice of their profession by students. The development of working professions will undoubtedly make an important contribution to the sustainable development of the country's economy and improving the social situation of future generations. It is obvious that the initiatives of the city of Shymkent in this direction will give their results and give an impetus to the development of hard work and professional skills. The meeting discussed the training of working specialists, their employment, innovations in vocational and technical education, the possibility of training specialists in universities and colleges. In higher educational institutions of the city, a lot of work is being done to train specialists for the labor market. A system of digital gas discount vouchers has been introduced in West Kazakhstan region for the first time 22.01.2025
As part of a pilot project under the Social Wallet program, 840 residents of the West Kazakhstan region receiving targeted social assistance and housing assistance used digital vouchers to receive gas discounts. The discount was 24%. According to the results of the first month of the project, in general, 2,573 citizens were provided with assistance to residents of Shymkent and West Kazakhstan region. It should be recalled that until December 2024, the mechanism for granting discounts was manual: the lists of recipients were transmitted by akimats, and their data was checked with the subscriber base. However, due to factors such as a change of address, data errors, or lack of ownership, some of those in need might not receive help. Since December 2024, with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and QazaqGaz Aimaq JSC, a new digital mechanism has been introduced through a "Social Wallet" in eGov Mobile. The process is now automated.:- Citizens receive an SMS notification from the number 1414 with information about the discount.- Confirm participation and indicate your personal account. This approach eliminates a number of errors and significantly speeds up the process, ensuring transparency and accessibility of assistance. The introduction of a digital approach as part of the pilot project has become a significant step in the development of social support. QazaqGaz Aimaq JSC will continue monitoring and improving the system to ensure access to assistance for every citizen in need.It should be noted that the gasification rate of the West Kazakhstan region is 99.8%. The total length of the pipelines is 10,063 km, which are serviced by 536 employees of the production branch of the West Kazakhstan Region of QazaqGaz Aimaq JSC to ensure uninterrupted and safe transportation of gas to consumers.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/bko/press/news/details/922291

Since 2023, at the initiative of the Head of State, the project "1000 leaders of changes in education" has been implemented, aimed at selecting and training leaders of a new format. In the first year of the program, 207 participants were enrolled in the republican personnel reserve, 180 of whom were appointed heads of state educational organizations. According to the results of the second stream, which ended in 2024, 376 teachers were enrolled. Of these, 50 have already taken the positions of school principals, and about 40 have become deputy principals. Meiram Bektemirov became one of the participants of the project. After working at the Petropavlovsk city school, in January 2025 he became the head of a rural school in the Kyzylzhar district of the North Kazakhstan region. "I found out about the project last year and started actively preparing. This is a great opportunity for educators. After going through all the selection stages, I realized how the competition not only evaluates professional skills, but also helps to look at familiar tasks in a new way. This experience allowed me to find innovative approaches and enrich my professional vision. Today, at our school, we are implementing an innovative scheduling program using the ASC Timetable system, which greatly simplifies the organization of the educational process. I also share my experience with colleagues in the region," said Meiram Bektemirov. The project, inspired by the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve, has been implemented by the Ministry of Education since 2023. In 2024, the number of people willing to participate increased 2.5 times. The program includes teachers from kindergartens, schools and colleges. The selection process for the personnel reserve took place in five stages: testing to assess professional and managerial competencies, training, internship at leading schools in the country, final assessment and interview with the republican commission.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/edu/press/news/details/921690
